We hire Loud Mouth Media to help with PPC and Social Media advertising throughout an annual promotion period. The entire campaign was around seven weeks long, including a warm-up period in October before the start of the promo, through Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the end of the sale. We are in the stages of migrating to a new website, which wouldn't be finished before the promotion. This presented some unique challenges, such as only selling digital products, issues with incomplete data and an inability to utilise Google Merchant Centre.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were slightly sceptical about using a third-party agency as we've previously had much more success managing our PPC and SMM than with agencies. However, with a lack of internal capacity, we decided to look for some best-in-class agencies, one of which was Loud Mouth Media. Loud Mouth Media immediately stood out as the best partner of all the agencies we contacted. Other agencies weren't interested in short-term contracts or relatively low ad-spend compared to some of their top-end clients. Loud Mouth, however, really took the time to get to know us and our products, understand our requirements and present a thoroughly researched and comprehensive pitch.

Loud Mouth Media designed multi-level Google PPC and SMM campaigns to drive customers from the top of the funnel, creating awareness and increasing reach through YouTube and Facebook ads before nurturing those customers through the middle of the funnel and accurately targeting high-intent customers at the bottom of the funnel. Loud Mouth Media were completely open about everything throughout the process and worked collaboratively with us at each stage to ensure the messaging and creatives remained on-brand with accurate product information whilst also optimising for high click-through and conversion rates.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We primarily worked with three people from Loud Mouth, though we also had some contact with other staff, all of which were extremely friendly, helpful and quick to respond. Our initial contact was Kevin Doran, their Business Development Manager, who took the time early in the project to fully understand our needs and ensure that they would be a good fit for us and that budgets and expectations were aligned. Throughout the project, we worked closely with Marc Shields, the Head of Social eCommerce and Cameron Wilson, a PPC Account Manager. Marc and Cameron were accommodating and friendly, always making time for us and constantly identifying opportunities to increase revenue up to the end of the contract.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Loud Mouth Media were able to reach potential customers that we had previously struggled to do so, enabling us to reach a broader market. At least 20% of all profit during the promotion could be directly attributed to their efforts, which is around twice what we had previously achieved. It wouldn't be appropriate to share exact figures, but the return on investment, including the Ad spend and their fees, was well over 500%

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow between Loud Mouth Media and ourselves felt natural, like an extension of our team. Marc and Cameron were regularly available for calls, very quick to reply to emails and very personable. They also considered our time and capacity when asking for creatives or approvals and understood when we could not deliver everything they would have liked.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most unique and refreshing thing about Loud Mouth is their can-do attitude, their dedication to delivering the same excellent results for clients who don't have as large budgets as their top-end accounts, and what felt like a genuine passion for their jobs and delivering excellent results.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Given the challenges and limitations we presented to Loud Mouth, I don't feel like there was any more they could have done. The results were excellent, the relationship was great, and their fees were very reasonable. We look forward to working with them again in the future.

We have been working with Alina and Gary-Eoghan since May 2022 (4 months) and we have fixed all the technical SEO issues holding us back and optimised a few pages so far. Next up we'll be focusing on optimising all the other pages of the site and coming up with a content strategy for our future blog posts.

When we started again in September 2021, our metrics were probably half what they are now. Loud Mouth Media has double the enrollment from the previous agency.

Their communication is second to none. We have a monthly meeting to plan the next month and quarter. In between those meetings, we communicate with them every week, and the team is incredibly responsive. Also, they’re very proactive in coming up with new ideas to improve our results.

How did Loud Mouth Media perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s very good. They’re easy to work with, easy to collaborate with, and they’re responsive. We brainstorm ideas together and they respond to us quickly when we have an issue. I have quite a close relationship with them and we talk every other week. We also talk here and there in between by email and Zoom.

Their pricing is fair and very reasonable. They’ve been very flexible throughout the pandemic.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very straightforward while other agencies we talked to had exaggerated claims. Loud Mouth Media is more down to earth and practical. They don’t use a lot of jargon and they’re never misleading. They’re easy to collaborate with and they make good suggestions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

To be honest, I don’t really have any criticisms. At the beginning, they weren’t very open to backlinking campaigns. They eventually did decide to expand their services to include that. So they’ve been working with us to test that program and have given us a good deal.

Have a really clear idea of what you’re trying to achieve. A lot of people just want to pass work to agencies, but you get a much better result when you work together as a team and take each other’s suggestions in consideration.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work has been particularly helpful because they are able to give us an outsider’s view whereas I am often so buried in the content and don’t necessarily always see that perspective. We’ve had an excellent, positive, and productive relationship. 

We do a graduate and intern campaign every autumn for student recruitment. We had a really successful campaign just last year where our numbers in terms of applications from students who were applying for roles in the company were through the roof. 

The numbers were more than double what we had the previous year, thanks to Loud Mouth Media’s work. We also have more qualitative measures of success which include developing the working relationship that we have with the team.

How did Loud Mouth Media perform from a project management standpoint?

It is a relatively small project so we just do everything via email and phone calls. We will either go to them or they will come to us as we are not too far away geographically. They come very well prepared for meetings and talk us through the successes. When there have been issues, they’ve been willing to address them. 

We get a monthly report from Loud Mouth Media which we use to look at our organic search rates. We also use it to track certain keywords. Conor meets with me every month to go through the SEO report and makes suggestions about content on the website.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Loud Mouth Media is really easy to work with and very flexible. The team makes suggestions that we never would’ve thought of. Their proactivity and creative insights on different subjects have been extremely helpful. Conor has been absolutely invaluable, and that is not an exaggeration. 

He has been fabulous at explaining everything to me and has suggested training that I could do. He is also a great sounding board, so if I have ideas or suggestions, I can run them past him. This makes everything easy to understand.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not that I can think of.

Just sit down and have an honest conversation with them. In my first couple of meetings with them, I was very honest that this was all very new. I had done content management in lots of jobs in the past but had neither done SEO and PPC work nor had a budget to spend.

Our main objective aside from general brand awareness was to generate leads from the campaign. In that regard we were quite successful, averaging around 20 leads per month. Beyond that, the project really helped us get an understanding of most the effective keywords to be targeting and the types of audiences we should be looking to reach.

How did Loud Mouth Media perform from a project management standpoint?

We generally had a weekly call update. For ongoing communication, we used our own platform, Oroson, given that it is specifically designed for that sort of collaboration. We updated our Oroson boards regularly and were able to keep things ongoing depending on what was happening with the campaign at the time. Kevin did a great job managing that and had great attention to detail with our whole account.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Honestly, I think Kevin is a real asset to Loud Mouth Media and is probably representative of their team in general. The personal experience and service that we got from him really stood out to us. It felt more like an extension of our own team rather than working with an external agency.

Working with Loud Mouth Media has given us a much more cost-effective way to reach a better-suited audience. We can now target specific people based on their interests. Our web traffic has increased by 98% since we started, and our occupancy rate has risen from 69% to 83%.

We’ve also been selling noticeably more tickets since we started working together. In January 2018, 48% of our sales were through e-commerce. By December 2018, we were conducting 82% of our sales through e-commerce.

Loud Mouth Media is very good at project management. We try to meet on a quarterly basis for performance reviews and communicate via email and phone calls. Out of all the agencies I’ve worked with, they’re one of the most efficient. A week has never gone by without hearing from one of their representatives. They send performance reports proactively without us having to ask.
 
During meetings, they recommend new ways to enhance our ad campaigns. The unique consultation they provide based on our proposals has made them stand out since the very beginning. Informed by research, they always consider the best course of action and treat every campaign on an individual basis. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Loud Mouth Media has specialists on staff for the entire Google Suite of projects and every type of social media. Many agencies lack their strategic abilities. The performance marketing director who attends to our account overall personally oversees how we can improve.

This has helped strengthen our relationship with those companies because we give them so many leads each week at no charge.

Their team keeps in touch on a weekly basis through phone and email, but we also have in-person review meetings every three months. Jemma and Mark will typically meet with us to go over our performance, answer questions, and plan ahead. Afterward, we all relax and share a laugh. If we’re launching a new campaign, we might increase the frequency to once a month to make sure that we’re on track.

If we need advice for our websites or have a concern about our marketing, we just send them an email, and they’re quick to give us their input. It’s great to know that they’re there to support us in case anything goes wrong.

Not only do they have a clear understanding of digital marketing, but they’re also willing to explain concepts to us in an accessible way. During our meetings, they never try to hide behind big terms to confuse us. Rather, they’re willing to pull up the facts and walk us through each number. By the end of the meeting, everyone understands exactly what’s going on.

Clients are often scared to ask questions when it comes to digital marketing because they’re afraid of sounding uninformed. Out PPC monthly spend is similar to what it was before working with Loud Mouth, but we started seeing increased conversion rates and lower CPAs that were outperforming industry standards.

We saw an immediate impact on our bottom line and we’re getting more sales for every pound we spent. The strategy to dominate our brand search terms and continue to build in negative keywords to each campaign helped us easily achieve our target CPA. Re-marketing to site visitors who didn’t make a purchase or abandoned their checkout further helped to tighten and improve all of our campaigns’ performance.

Loud Mouth has always been proactive, inviting us to their offices regularly for detailed account analyses and growth opportunities and proposals to increase campaign effectiveness. This was complemented by regular emails, phone calls, and a monthly report.

Now that we’ve been with Loud Mouth for a while, we’ve seen our listings appear on the first page, and often as high as second or third on Google Shopping pages. Our main conversions came through one particular brand, which was extremely popular from November until April. Additionally, we’ve had a lot of customers return to our website to finish their purchase through dynamic remarketing.

Jemma is extremely responsive if we have any questions - we trust that she will have the answers we need when we email Loud Mouth Media. We started off with a series of meetings to ensure that the company understood our goals and market position. Currently, they help structure and implement a specific PPC plan to ensure the highest ROI, whilst also targeting new, ‘unknown’ customers, which is something we’re always trying to do. We have monthly reports and meetings to debrief on the previous month’s ROI, and to discuss the plan for the next month. They also compile a comparison to the previous year to benchmark our progress.

Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

We’re averaging a number one ranking for most of our key search terms. In relation to brand recognition, we’ve seen increased foot traffic due to all marketing methods. Bing Ads have shown a fantastic ROI, as has Google AdWords. PPC is responsible for over a quarter of online transactions.

How did the Loud Mouth Media perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great to work with and they are very responsive to phone calls, emails, and meeting requests. Any requested updates or changes to the PPC plan are promptly implemented, and are reviewed with monthly progress reports. We funnel our questions through the account manager and they were dealt with in a quick, professional manner. They overlooked nothing and set a high standard.

We were aware of the company after seeing them speak at digital events, but a referral also put them in touch. We met with a number of other companies to ensure that our supplier met our requirements, fully understood our business, and would be a good long-term fit.

We met with the team to familiarize them with our business and objectives, and they provided a campaign proposal. We adjusted this proposal together based on strategic feedback, then provided Loud Mouth Media with copy and creative. They built the campaign and currently manage day-to-day operations.

We work closely with our account manager every day, but the directors and owner of the company are available if we need them. The team has grown during our project as new staff are trained to help with our account.

I’m the CEO of the Irish Fairy Door Company. At the time, we were dealing mainly with bricks and mortar retailers like Toys ‘R Us. We tried to switch to B2C and set ourselves up a direct logistic route to the customer from China, but we needed someone to market it first.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, they put a digital marketing strategy in place that included Facebook, Instagram, Google AdWords, and YouTube. We’d say that we wanted to spend X amount to achieve Y amount, and they put a plan in place that achieved that.

We now use them for all our digital marketing campaigns. We don’t do anything without them. For example, they advise our in-house creative team on the best strategies for email marketing campaigns and other direct routes to the customer. It is a partnership rather than a one-way street.

What is the team composition?

At first, we dealt mostly with Mark (Managing Director, Loud Mouth Media). We were allocated two people: someone to look after our Facebook account and Instagram, and another to look after Google Ads and YouTube. There’s an extended team behind it that we can get access to at any time.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s still very early days in terms of the metrics, but so far, they’ve been hitting our targets. If we sell a product for $20, we don’t want to spend more than $5 achieving that sale. We launched new products in the last few weeks, with a cost per acquisition of 25%.

How did Loud Mouth Media perform from a project management standpoint?

Loud Mouth Media provides a weekly synopsis and a comprehensive monthly report. They’re fantastic with communication. They’re on call even during weekends and evenings. We dealt with another company for a year and never got the same level of service.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like their “one size doesn’t fit all” approach. They have the ability to adjust to whatever we need or whatever we want. It comes down to communication and being able to deliver on what they say they’re going to deliver. They listen to us, but they’ll call us on something if they don’t think it’s right. Plus, they have been very patient while we were launching our new products. We’re very happy with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were some technical issues with the linkup between our website and some of the analytics. It took a bit of time to get that settled. While our tech people were responsible, I would have loved if they could have jumped in and done it. It’s not what they do, but it would have been nice if they could.

We work directly with Kirsty (Digital Marketing Manager, Loud Mouth Media). Jemma ((PPC Account Manager, Loud Mouth Media)) is our main point of contact. We've never had any problems together. She's a fantastic source who always goes above and beyond our expectations. Everyone else I've spoken to from their team has been professional and accommodating.

How did you come to work with Loud Mouth Media?

I’d heard about them through word-of-mouth while we were using a different platform. I was managing WordStream, which is a great system, but I really just needed somebody manage our keyword strategy. Google Adwords is a rare specialization for teams in Northern Ireland, and there are only slightly more in the Republic of Ireland. I was really impressed by our discussion. They conducted a full audit of our prior work.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we've spent about £20,000 ($28,000 USD). We regularly invest in their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since March 2017. They’re currently focused on our ongoing SEO, social media, and a couple of our ongoing campaigns.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Loud Mouth Media is great at driving traffic and sales using display and search advertising. Last year we had 254 conversions for our B2C outside rooms at a rate of 3%, which is really good. On the B2B side, we had 155 conversions. Our video remarketing and display marketing attracted 2,146 views with a 23% view rate and 1.87% click-through rate. Our average quality score is 8-9, which is top notch for all our AdWords. We got 50 conversions from the precast section of our site, which we only started working on in December.

They're brilliant at ongoing reports. Their innovative perspective helps them find clever and effective solutions. They're always looking for different ways to try new things. LoudMouth is on top of all the latest digital marketing and AdWords related content, which is changing all the time.

How did Loud Mouth Media perform from a project management standpoint?

The onboarding process was brilliant and just seamless. We haven’t worked with them long enough to discern their exact project management style. Refreshingly, they helped us maximize our ROI by strategically allocating our budget, rather than drawing out the length and cost.

They've been tremendously reactive so far and will make any changes necessary to attain the best results. The team has a great relationship with Google, as well. Any issues I identify are checked out in less than 3-4 hours. I've never had to follow up with them to investigate a problem I've notified them about.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I most appreciate their customer service. I work with outsourced companies all the time. Loud Mouth Media’s relationship management is superb and second to none. There's never a query too small for them; they always come back with a viable solution. If for some reason they can't solve a problem, they'll find us auxiliary support to do so. With YouFibre operating in the competitive Telecommunications sector and no prior digital activity before Nov 2021, from day 1 a laser-focus on data was essential. We searched for relevant audience data from Google trend reports, but what became clear was conversions for the sector all related to quality and price, rather than age, gender or specific audience details. SEO research via Ahrefs also showed competitors were focusing on key search terms in larger cities like ‘broadband provider’ or ‘fast broadband’.
We therefore worked closely with the client and used YouFibre’s target territories to implement a geography-structured audience approach; maximising all activity for conversions and driving ROI. We would target key developing small towns across the UK, and tailor keywords and messaging to socioeconomic factors in those areas to ensure we solved the problems locals were searching for.
To compete with the big brands like Virgin and BT we needed to be highly-refined with the granular details of campaigns, and constant data analysis would be essential to making informed long-term strategic decisions.
