BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’ve worked with Limefish Design across two organizations. The most recent project was for an investment fund that acts as a private entity that was created by the government to invest in our youth and help them grow their businesses beyond our country.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Limefish Design?

We hired Limefish Design to do a couple of things. For the first project, we wanted them to create a brand that could deliver our message of hope. Then, for the second project, we wanted them to create a website design for our brand launch. The challenge we had was in creating a brand that looks both professional and playful. 

Even though we were acting as a private company, we were still government-owned, so we needed to maintain some level of professionalism. At the same time, we were trying to target young people and entrepreneurs, who tend to be more on the colorful side.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We sat with them, and they laid a lot of their cards on the table; the team asked us about our brand voice, our vision, and many other things. Whenever we'd get stuck, they would give us different perspectives to think about and help us discover ourselves without enforcing anything. Through that, we were able to discover our own brand without being told what we should be because they simply advised us throughout the process.

They used Adobe XD, which was extremely helpful because once we were ready to develop the website, they just enabled the developer option so we could pass it on to our developer. Using Adobe XD also allowed us to comment on the platform and enabled them to take action on the items we posted. Within one week, we were able to get the first phase of the website up and running. We had quite a smooth transition from the designs to the final website.

Recently, they won another RFP with us and are working on the brand development for a television show that we currently have in post-production. We’re expecting to launch the show by the end of the year.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with a lot of people who are in charge of our branding and website, including an account manager and owner. I’ve directly worked with 2–3 people from the branding team, but there are probably at least 5 people working on that team.

How did you come to work with Limefish Design?

Limefish Design was already selected by my manager by the time I came in. However, I was familiar with the selection process. Basically, our company put out an RFP and they evaluated Limefish Design based on price and portfolio. I was happy to see that they were selected; even though I wasn’t involved in the selection process, I had already worked with them in the past and knew that they deliver really nice results.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent under $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing partnership started in June 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since they’re mostly handling the brand aspect, we don’t have any hard figures yet. In terms of feedback, our branding has had a great impact — people have complimented our branding’s colors as well as its look and feel. People also appreciate the thought process that went into our branding. Overall, Limefish Design has been successful in producing what we need.

How did Limefish Design perform from a project management standpoint?

They have a fantastic process. The team asked us in advance about our preferred communication tool because they were using multiple channels, and we opted for WhatsApp because that’s the fastest way they can get in touch with us. At the same time, using WhatsApp also allows us to provide quick feedback. When Limefish Design needs to deliver something, they use Dropbox. Then, if we need to make a big decision, we use email to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very good at adapting.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, they've done a great job and I’m very happy with their work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t micromanage Limefish Design, and let them help you explore whatever you’re trying to develop for your website or brand. Additionally, listen to what they have to say, including their thought process. You'll be surprised about how much thought they put behind things and you'll usually be convinced by what they say.
