LIghtpoint took over the maintenance and development of a portfolio of small "bolt-on" applications that had previously been maintaned in-house. As part of this they also redeveloped one application to deliver complex and sophisticated functionality for one of our customers. They refactored and re-engineered code to ensure it was maintainable, added new features, and fixed faults. 

In parallel they also provided UI/UX design services to completely redesign our user interface across our product portfolio to improve ease of use, customer satisfaction, and brand consistency. They implemented these designs as HTML and CSS to be integrated into our application code across muliple platforms, working closely with our in-house teams.

We hired Lightpoint Global to create a proprietary SaaS web application that would process incoming data and allow a user to create their own invoices pursuant to that data. Application requirements mandated a high level of system security and complex logic to calculate bill charges. 

Lightpoint Global needed to work directly with SME's to create requirements and wireframes from scratch, and then build the eventual application. MVP outcomes were clear, but Lightpoint Global needed to learn the nuances of a new industry application quickly and with little existing "blueprints" to work off of.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

First and foremost, an MVP that met our initial requirements and passed manual calculations of the data that the system itself was calculating. Beyond that, an application that passed SOC 2 and HIPAA data security requirements.

Lightpoint Global was outstanding in their ability to work with relatively little in the form of initial requirements. They're an incredibly intelligent and talented group. I was surprised how well their initial timeline and schedule stood up, despite how much they learned about the application and requirements after creating it. It showed that they have plenty of B2B/enterprise software development experience, and know exactly what to expect as they begin to really dig into projects. 

Lightpoint Global was very flexible as requirements shifted or new obstacles presented themselves. They were always extremely clear as to timeline impacts, and overall did a great job managing changes to work within the MVP timeline.

The most impressive thing about Lightpoint Global is their people - they understood our industry and requirements faster than I had ever anticipated they would. Their ability to process, understand, and bring to life a vision that really only existed in our heads is astounding. 

Second, the entire company brings a high level of discipline to the software development process. I was very pleasantly surprised to see how well documented everything was - from code, to project plans, bugs, and developer tasks.

Being a design studio, we provided guys with the concept design and they started to code the platform. A big part of the functionality was omitted since the client wanted to see the MVP first. They tested an early version of platform and we were ready to demonstrate to the client. When the MVP was approved, the team continued with further development work. We requested them to use Vue.js framework for front end development. Lightpoint Global team suggested us Node.js for backend and Google Tensorflow for building NLP and data science models. Some parts of the platform also required development in Amazon Lex and ElasticSearch frameworks.

Even with limited resources we were able to launch our app on time. I was truly impressed with the whole team dedication towards the final goal. There is 8 hour difference between our time zones but having someone willing to finish critical work afterhours is indispensable.

Lightpoint Global started their work with the stakeholders' survey and a proper investigating of corporate/department/an employee needs and expectations.

There is no secret that current clients bring about 75% of the revenue to the business. One of the core business focuses at SmartexLab is to enhance customers’ satisfaction and as the result retention rate. By the delivered solution we’ve increased the confidence of our client, recommendations and have got another profitable project from him.

At Smartexlab we always stay informed of our clients’ success and try to collect information about the benefits they’ve got working with us. This client shared thу info that the implementation of a ticket support system reduced the churn rate for 15%. It means that Lightpoint team helped our client painlessly build in a new custom logic into the functioning business processes, migrate their data (it’s huge) with no loss of objects from the previous CRM, with the improved reporting system they’ve got the opportunity to see clearly their growth points.

The scope of work that was delivered by the LP team: Data Migration from the previous CRM to the Salesforce system; Rules customized so the sales rep could validate record data during the sales processing and fill up fields as required during the selling procedure;

The whole team is fully involved, each of them cares about every feature and it’s impact, trying to contribute by sharing their ideas, experience or vision. They exceed expectations, making just pretty simple things: staying flexible and curious.

Lightpoint Global has proved to be a reliable partner. All tasks were completed quickly and at a high professional level. However, based on customer needs, I would recommend improving data security services. It will also enable highly increase Softline and LightPoint Global collaboration.
