How did you select this vendor?

We were referred to Leo9 by a friend and were incredibly impressed by their passion, commitment, and planned out strategies for attacking projects.

The team sent us a few documents to fill out regarding our identity and branding documents and has extensive questions to hone in on our strategy. We then created decks, going back and forth for a few weeks, to hone down on our branding. The decks put together pictures, slogans, symbols, and specific company assets (like a revolutionary design for our consumer debit card) to clearly display our brand identity. At the same time, we worked on UX wireframes for the different stages of our app. We went back and forth with the team on regular Zoom calls or by typing notes into Adobe XD. This then proceeded to incredibly quick UI designs. The process was always iterative and well thought out.

We worked directly with 2-3 senior designers from the team who would also work within their own design teams.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We came out with incredible UI/UX designs for our app, which are now being coded by our development team. We also had a strong sense of branding identity.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We used Slack to communicate but the team was always reachable over WhatsApp text/call as well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Leo9 has been very focused on detail. Their combined skills in marketing take their projects above the norm. All the details were rationalized and they had the right set of justifications and answers to questions we threw their way.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes using the Adobe XD was confusing because not all suggestions would be accepted at once, so more clarity there would have been helpful. Otherwise, the team was fantastic.

I’m the founder and CEO of Peep Connect. We’re a startup developing a consumer engagement tool for small businesses.

What challenge were you trying to address with Leo9 Studio?

We wanted to relaunch, so we needed to rebrand ourselves and build out our UX/UI. We contracted Leo9 Studio to do that for us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Leo9 Studio has helped us rebrand and build out the UX/UI on a much more detailed level. We focused on what works, how we make our product better, and how we engage people. When we were building the interface, we focused on user retention, experience, and engagement.

For the rebrand, we tried to change the name, but we ended up staying with the same one. Overall, we tried to focus on what it could be and what colors and tones inspired the modern-day marketing system, especially when it comes to Gen Z.

We’ve given them ideas of what we want to do, and they’ve done a good job running with them.

What is the team composition?

I work primarily with three people: Jugal (Co-Founder & CEO), Harsh (UX Engineer), who is in charge of the UX and interaction, and Pratik (Experience Designer), who is in charge of the design.

How did you come to work with Leo9 Studio?

We went on Dribble.com and had a few applications there. I spoke with Jugal, and he explained things in a way that made sense to me and made me realize that they were the team I wanted to work with.

I have high expectations and am very demanding, so I put that into context when I’m looking for someone to work with. I also think about trust and culture — whether I can trust this person to execute what I have in mind, and if I can trust them to do a good job of it.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent about $15,000 already.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April 2021, and the relationship is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s great for what it is and what we wanted to do. I presented their work to my investors and they loved it. As long as my investors are happy, I’m a happy man, so that’s all I care about.

To work with me, a company has to be really professional, and their deliveries have to be top-notch. Leo9 Studio has been willing to work with me and my crazy ideas. They’ve done a good job with deliveries, which have been on time.

How did Leo9 Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re excellent at communicating. They make it easy when it comes to deadlines, especially if I just drop something on their lap. If something isn’t going to be delivered on time or by a certain date, they let me know, but they still work to deliver it by that time. They’re very professional.

For communication, we use emails and WhatsApp to message each other back and forth every day. We have many email threads, and we stuck to email because it was familiar and easier for us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most important thing is that people are able to communicate. Communication is the main thing I want when I work with anyone. In that sense, communication with our lead person has been great, and he’s pretty much involved in every aspect of the work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m very demanding, but maybe they could improve the expert level of delivery. For example, we needed a design, so we had to reiterate several times before we came to the conclusion of what worked best. If they could start angling toward what works and what doesn’t in the second iteration, that would be great. Other than that, I don’t see anything. They arrived at what we wanted, but maybe it took more time to get there.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re doing an amazing job as an organization, and they should just continue with that. They've been great at working with us, so I hope that others consider them.

What were your goals for this project?

Wanted a brand identity to showcase the real treasure is in the travel. From depth of the oceans to height of the mountains and above, we'll curate experiences and trips that brings memory of lifetime. We also required a simple platform, more images, and a soft look and feel overall. Easy to understand and navigate by anyone. Team Leo9 managed to get it all in a sweet spot.

I have been following their work for a while, be it on Behance, Instagram, FB, etc. Always thought, if I wanted to get over a project along with them, they'd be my first call. Luckily it was my startup!

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

The community I build has a variety of visitors, from different states, ages, and educational backgrounds and hence, wide range of taste. These people must find it very easy to navigate my website, understand the concept and keep returning. The web app need to be intuitive enough to the potential travelers to be able to make the reservation for their next travel in comfort of their sofa even in middle of the night.

Also, the strategic partners coming from different regions may or may not be as good when it comes to technology, yet a simple platform lets them easily maintain their free online store.

Branding artist, UI designer, UX designer, and developers - frontend as well as backend.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Yes, I have already gotten fair number of visitors. Started international tours too. As per my requirement, we have good session numbers, low bounce rates, and people enjoy looking at beautiful pictures (which btw, I have clicked!) So all in all, everything I wanted is been well executed.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I visited their office time to time, to overlook and to see as my brand was been built! Their efficient workflow made it happen sooner than I anticipated..! It was pleasant.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Leo9 Studio can exactly copy the thought and turn it into design and technology. They will impress you just with the concept, and then with their design!

Are there any areas for improvement?

Maybe, as no one's perfect. But, these guys to me were perfect for existing project requirements.

I am a co-founder of a startup disrupting the traditional way of buying real estate in the US.

For what projects/services did your company hire Leo9 Studio | UI/UX Design Agency?

After interviewing almost 40 global design agencies that could deliver us an MVP from our concept of wire frames, we selected LEO9 because of their ability to help us establish a complete brand identity while delivering a fully functioning viable product that met our build spec goals.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to have an MVP that gives us a great foundation that we can continue building upon. We wanted to find a firm that was great at UI/UX design, as well as could build the solution using more modern technology (we requested the front-end to be built using React).

The back-end is built on PHP, which we’ll later have to swap out with node.js. LEO9 was one of the few one stop shops that was able to provide us with an end to end solution and could deliver the results we were expecting.

How did you select Leo9 Studio | UI/UX Design Agency?

We set up a cost, expertise and delivery timeline matrix and then interviewed 40 design agencies. We reviewed their company collateral, case studies as well as asked project fit questions and then narrowed the list down to who could deliver.

In all the interviews that we conducted, the LEO9 team had by far some of the most in-depth questions about our product, provided some of the best ideas to get there and appeared to be the most engaged with the direction we wanted to go.

We took a chance with LEO9, as we would have with any of the agencies really, and it paid off.

Describe the project in detail.

The project began with us delivering to them a complete set of wire frames and flow diagrams of how we saw the website and user experience functioning. From the beginning we gave LEO9 a lot of flexibility to deliver to us what they believed to be their best attempt at a functioning MVP from what we presented to them.

LEO9’s first steps involved them building off our concept and delivering to us their interpretation of the user's journey that then translated into a full blown brand identity.

We made several tweaks at this point, including creating a company logo and establishing the company design criteria, before they began building out Hi-Fi wire frames of the site. We made iterations and content updates daily, building towards final designs.

The communication was clear and they were not hesitant to ask questions to not waste time. The website did take a bit longer than expected to build; however, they were able to add resources when needed to keep the project moving forward and were able to resolve through all the hurdles.

As we were iterating, we created an airtable view to communicate all required fixes that they worked through. We also communicated via Slack on a daily basis. As with building any software product, over communication is key, and they were great at communicating back with us.

The fact that they continued to refine and get us to the goal was what we had been looking for in a reliable team and LEO9 delivered for us. We are now working on new scopes of work with their team to take our MVP to the next iteration based on client feedback.

What was the team composition?

LEO9 had a project manager, UX designer, UI builder, front end developer, back end developer and their CEO all with roles on the project. They also incorporated a graphic artist and brand manager to help with the overall design.

We conducted weekly sprint meetings, held daily open calls, and were available to answer questions at all hours. They became an extension of our lean startup team even with a 12+ hour time difference between our teams.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They delivered to us a fully functional MVP with brand consistency. They added tremendous value to the UI/UX of the product and went above and beyond to deliver to us an end to end product.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was great. We communicated regularly through dedicated Slack channels and used Airtable to communicate bugs. Communication was clear and responsive. There was a 12+ hour time difference throughout our project but items were delivered in a responsive manner.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were thoughtfully engaged, came up with excellent ideas and they delivered to us exactly what we were looking for. In some instances what they delivered would be what you would expect from an agency with a lot more resources than what it appeared they were working with. We are very happy with the MVP they delivered.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The time of delivery could improve, but given the project scope and integrations that we asked for, some delay was going to be inevitable. They did not sacrifice quality over speed which was one of the single most important things to us.

SPS Canada Immigration is a boutique immigration consulting firm in Toronto. We’re a regulated immigration practice that’s been in the industry for over 15 years. We provide tailored solutions and advice to clients on the matter of Canadian immigration.

I’m the business development manager in charge of the Southeast division. I’ve been with the firm since 2011. I manage HR, business acquisition, and the online presence of the firm.

What challenge were you trying to address with Leo9 Studio?

We were getting business only through word of mouth, and we’d never had a proper website or online presence. We also didn’t have branding.

We were recognized as SPS Canada just by the clients that we served. Reaching out to the maximum number of people was a challenge, so we asked Leo9 to address our brand.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Leo9 Studio helped us with our logo, branding, colors, and website. They interviewed us to come up with a logo style. The logo has a plane symbol in it, representing migration. It has a maple leaf, and it has three colors of Canada.

We wanted to have a simple, elegant, and sober website. Before this, we had a basic 2-3 page website. Leo9 Studio proposed a 10-page site for us, and they built it from scratch.

The site has a self-assessment tool for clients, a blog, and a “Contact Us” and booking feature.

What is the team composition?

Jugal (Co-Founder & CEO) was the one in touch with us initially, and he was the architect. I worked with one of their UX/UI designers who were behind the website mechanics, and I worked with a brand designer.

I also worked with someone from their accounts department who was in charge of invoicing.

How did you come to work with Leo9 Studio?

We tried hiring someone in-house initially, but then we came in contact with Leo9 through one of our clients. We were impressed by their current website and by some of their clients’ websites in the US. They understood what we wanted, and they had an impressive pitch.

We spent around $10,000 CAD (approximately $8,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Leo9 Studio in late-2018, and the project was completed in four months.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The site has a good flow, starting with general questions and information. We started receiving assessments every day, which we create blog posts about. We recovered our investment in three months, and results kept coming in after that.

We’re building content, and we’re getting new clients. We’ve seen an almost 30% increase in business.

How did Leo9 Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very accurate, giving us a buffer time of 1-2 weeks. We usually got deliveries a few days before the deadline. We had stages for each website page and design.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team understands the client’s requirements, and they can unlock the client’s vision. The way they build designs is really amazing.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know what I could mention. They blended well with us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As a client, we had limited resources. We’d seen a few things that caught our imagination and asked for those. Once Leo9 Studio showed us what they had to offer, we got something better than our imagination.

It’s important to let them know what we want to do with the product, but we also have to hear their ideas with an open mind. That will lead to a better final product than the client imagined.

I lead the entire team at Travelxp.com, including sales, marketing and technology to create a seamless travel experience for travelers worldwide.

We hired Leo9 to complete our UI/UX redesign for Travelxp.com and implement a modern design language and UX for a greatly enhanced customer experience.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to create a new, intuitive, mobile-first interface that would enable easy and smooth travel bookings. We wanted to simplify and declutter the experience for booking flights, including the option to add seats and other adds on. For Hotels, we wanted to represent and provide the customer with information to make the right choice. And for holidays, we wanted to enable customers to choose the type of holiday that fits their need.

We reached out to multiple UI/UX Agencies across the world with our specific requirements. After a host of calls with many founders, leads and senior people, we found Jugal and team at Leo9 the most efficient and capable for our project. The hands on approach of Jugal Shah, the CEO and his team's expertise, knowledge and approachability were the real deciding factor for us. While they did have some big project experience, the authenticity of their work and the smoothness of communication was a key factor for us in making the decision.

Describe the project in detail.

The Project involved a mobile-first design challenge, from a redesigned UX for the customer to a new, intuitive modern UI. We picked up the entire project piece by piece, and tried iterative UI improvements to create a seamless travel booking experience. Each screen was carefully created keeping in mind the customer's ease of use and feeling of satisfaction in the journey. We redesigned a flight interface and created a simple to use, modernistic booking flow. We also experimented with adding a home screen, a slightly different proposition in the travel industry, to provide personalised recommendations to the user.

What was the team composition?

While the team was composed of 2 full time resources allocated to Travelxp, Pratik and Virendra, we felt that the entire team of Leo9 was dedicated to helping us achieve our aims. Jugal was personally involved in the project, and helped the team throughout the 11 months. Other members of the team also played a role at different stages. However, the two main people in the project were the two senior UI/UX designers, Virendra and Pratik.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to create a new stable application, built on a React Native framework, and were able to greatly enhance the CX for application users. Even across the website, we have seen a marked increase in the smoothness of use and most of our users are extremely happy with the new redesign.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication was very smooth. While Jugal's team is more capable with Slack, when we suggested our Project Management and communication tool, Basecamp, they were happy to get onboard and talk to us on a platform of our choice. There were regular feedback calls, and daily updates between our team and theirs. Requirements were defined, and the team was also very agile in adapting to changing requirements, which was very crucial to the successful product delivery.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Some of the biggest advantages Leo9 has is that design is at the core of their thinking and company. Jugal himself is a gold medallist from one of India's premier design institutes, and he brings this knowledge and expertise with him to all projects Leo9 is a part of. Furthermore, the hands-on approach and the high ethical nature of work practised at Leo9 by all team members is something that is very trusted inducing for a client and helps in maintaining a long term relationship.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Jugal's team is very efficient, but their turnaround times can be faster. Furthermore, sometimes there is a logical gap between what would be a smart approach and the best-designed approach. However, the team is more than willing to take the feedback and make the changes.

I have been working the Leo9 team for over a year before this project. They are always excellent, punctual, professional, and their design sense is superb.

We had a very standard planning and deployment phase. The UX/UI work was done by Leo9, with my cooperation. The design team at Leo9 did an excellent job.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We put the site together in record time. It was not easy, but the Leo9 team work 7 days a week until it was done!

We kept to very tight timelines, under a lot of pressure. Covid-19 lockdowns were starting all over the UK, and we wanted to be ready.

The Covid-19 lockdown period was/is a stressful one for everyone. Hard to make an accurate assessment during those times.

Overall they are a very well oiled unit. They have a great team who are committed to doing excellent work with complete client satisfaction. They are very coordinated and do things on time every time. Their client handling is outstanding very kind understanding and well managed. When it comes to the projects and goal they make sure that they understand exactly what their clients want and go above and beyond to make sure it is done perfectly. All their projects and tasks given to them are done in a very systematic way to insure that there is no confusion and the end goal is achieved.

Our projects are still ongoing and incomplete as of yet but whatever result that have been shown to me are outstanding and I am very happy with the result.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The Project manager who was assigned to me Mr Himanshu was very together with his work. Always on time for meeting. His ability to manager multiple projects and meet with the deadlines given is outstanding. He is an excellent communicator, understands his field amazingly well and because of him I am able to sit back and relax tension free.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

What I found most impressive was their attitude to serve their clients. No matter what the situation it could be funding, it could be challenge of the task non of that matters, what matters is are you satisfied? has your work been completed? everything else is secondary, the client needs are first. I think their slogan is Born to Serve and they really live up to that.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As far as improvements go, there is always room for improvement but I would have to say I have not come across anything that I could say needed improvement. There work is thorough and up to the mark.

We went through a in-depth process of interviews from which we selected Leo9 Studio based on past experience and value.

There were several parts to this project. The first is salon management system which also acts as a POS. The 2nd part of the project was the design of their internal CRM and the third portion of the project was the design of their web presence.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a project manager, two UX designers and one UI designer. They also managed the HTML coding for us so they assigned us two front end developers to get that done.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The results were fabulous! The client loved the work and the feedback from their focus group on the user experience design was very well received.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Pretty good. We had to work around the time zone difference a bit but these days there are plenty of tools that you can use to create a very effective workflow. They were pretty communicative so that is a very big help when working with disconnected teams.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I think the most impressive thing is their value proposition. The entire team is quite talented and are able to bring a very level of UX and UI design to the project at very fair pricing.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is always room for improvement for any team including mine but I think overall the project did flow pretty smoothly.

We were looking to take UI/UX on our website to the next level. Our team focuses mostly on data and analytics, so we were looking for some design and creative support.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They supplement our design and execution of landing pages for paid advertising and social media advertising campaigns. That involves not only the design work for the look, feel, and functionality but also the creation of funnels and conversion rate optimization. They’ve provided designs and layouts for everything from landing pages to microsites for various advertising projects.

They’ve done WordPress, PHP, JAvaScript, Laravel, HTML, and Shopify builds for us. We’ve done over 10 projects together. In addition, they’ve created e-commerce websites and handled a few logo design projects as well.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They provide some of the best and cleanest design work that we’ve seen on the market. The design work itself is truly top-notch. They’ve been able to digest our concepts and effectively build a usable solution. When working together on conversion rate optimization, we’ve seen anywhere from a 15%–20% increase in conversions on those funnels. That has a direct impact on our bottom line.

They’re dialed into our communication channels through Slack, where we have our own seamless communication channels that provide availability around the clock. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They work tirelessly to get deliverables to meet all client needs. They take the time upfront to understand client specificities, which allows them to deliver effective design assets on the first and second iterations. 

They’re great about prioritizing transparency as well. If there are any bumps in the road, they’re always able to smooth things out.

A little more granularity in proposal line items may be helpful. I’m detail-oriented, so that would be great for me especially.

Their organization should be trusted because they’ve continued to deliver quality over and over again. The team is consistent and avoids sugarcoating things. There’s little risk associated with working with an organization like that.
