I am the Managing Director of an outsource transcription service company based in the UK.

Our existing workflow system was around 15 years old and didn't include features that are now necessary, it had become unstable and unsupportable. We needed a system that was built in up to date software incorporating features that are now required as well being a system that could be updated and expanded as and when necessary.

Leanware were recommended to us via a potential consultant. On speaking to the team, we believed they were able to offer us a comprehensive solution to our issues at a price that was affordable. They have a can-do attitude and an ability to explain technical issues in layman's terms.

They designed and developed a cloud based workflow system incorporating workflow management, invoicing and timesheets both internally and externally as well as mailing and CRM solutions all in one comprehensive, intuitive system.

There were three people we had regular contact with including the CEO and developers. Each of them responded quickly, clearly, and helpfully to all queries.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The system developed by Leanware should save us 50% of manual intervention on the receipt and sending of work and give our clients a simple, intuitive system to use to send work to us and the ability for them to monitor costs which is invaluable to them. The system will also upgrade our ability to market to potential new clients and keep in regular with current clients without impacting on the general day to day business excessively.

The project management was great. The team were patient with our non-technological knowledge and brought great ideas to the table going beyond what we originally had in mind. The team always responded quickly using email (our requested manner of communication) and quickly booked in Zoom/Teams calls whenever needed to explain matters more thoroughly. They also provided Loom videos for detailed instruction.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The communication was always excellent. They have a can-do attitude and a real desire to give us the system that we really want.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We have been completely delighted with all aspects of working with Leanware.

We wanted to automate some of our payroll processes, implement API connections with clients and develop a database and client dashboard to enebale data to be analysed and reports witten.

We conducted an extensive search of firms of this size. We wanted to be working with people who would understand our business before providing us solutions. We found Leanwares's business focused attitude matched our desire.

They design the project and develop solutions that guarantee the quality and useability of deliverables. The project created an in house system to streamline our business operations. The technologies used were Angular, Python, NodeJS and MySQL.

The were five team members on the project including front and back end developers, UX designer and teh project manager

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The deliverables focused on underestanding our needs and then validating the solution. This has menat that the solution enhances our business processes making us much more efficient and at the same time delivering a user friendly intuitive experience for our staff and our clients.

We felt that this was taken very seriously by Leanware and whilst they definitely managed the project steps and deliverables they ahad a very collaborative approach which allowed us to understand what was ahppening at all times. They kept to all of the project timeline which we had jointly agreed

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were able to talk to really technically able individuals who were also able to talk our language and understood the need to liste to us and really understand what our business needed. This made teh whold process so much more focussed and also I think enabled better outcomes to be achieved.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We have thought about this and we really can't think of anything. Even when we were late on our delivery they were just about right in the way they encouraged us to provide this to them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Leanware?

We contacted Leanware to create a specific sales tool for one of our clients. They created a frontend that then sits between our site and the eventual payment page.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our client uses our software platform as their CRM, and they want to be able to sell their clients memberships and take balance payments. The client has it set up, so they are able to quickly choose the membership level and payment method. 

I did a Balsamiq mock-up for Leanware. Then, they provided us with a written document explaining their understanding of what it is we wanted. After we agreed on that, they went on to build what we needed.

They created a frontend tool on our Instant Wholesale Service (IWS) environment with AWS Lambda functions, where they added a dedicated URL and an admin section in the backend. They did all the development for that based on our requirements. The actual deliverable is a tool that the client uses to set up new products and payment pages. Not only that, but they are also providing 90 days of ongoing support.

We are working closely with two members of Leanware: Carlos (CEO) and Jarvy (Co-Founder).

How did you come to work with Leanware?

This is not the first project we've done with Leanware — it’s just the most recent. We decided to work with Leanware because they are very easy to contact and work with. They’re also very professional and very clear on deliverables and deadlines.

We’ve invested $5,000 so far.

We started working in February 2021, and we are starting a new project together

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of the work and the ease of making changes where we need to have them are excellent. From a general customer satisfaction perspective, our client wouldn't be able to run that aspect of their business at the moment if it wasn't for the work that Leanware did.

How did Leanware perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate through Zulip, which is an open-source version; it’s a bit like Slack. Whenever we need to have calls, we have them on Google Meet or Zoom. In general, they are fantastic with project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We are impressed by their ability to stick to the budget, provided that we stick to the requirements. There's no sudden increase in the budget, and they're very clear on what will be needed to be paid for extra.

Are there any areas they could improve?

From the experience that we had with them, there is none at the moment.

Follow their process because they're very good at being clear on what they need in order to deliver and provide the best results.

I’m VP of marketing at Canadian Orthodontic Partners. We’re a network of orthodontic clinics focused here in Canada. We represent over 50 practices across the country. I work in a support service organization so we support the efforts of finance, marketing, and HR. We lend support services to those clinics across the country.

In my role, I’m responsible for everything from branding to patient demand to lead acquisition. Essentially, I’m responsible for everything encompassed in building out our virtual care model as well as all the communication efforts for the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Leanware?

We brought them as an ad hoc developer to handle some grunt work that I don’t want to bog down my current agencies with. I had a very specific need that needed to be addressed quickly. Leanware was able to help with that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The project was a mild integration between my consumer-facing website and our CRM system as well as other databases. They were instrumental in understanding my problem and building a solution.

We use HubSpot mostly for email campaigns, but we do use it as an integration point. Our practice management software is in our clinics. Most of them don’t have open API, so we bridged some gaps with our CRM to allow us to more easily communicate with our patients.

I invested about $500 CAD (approximately $380 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

This project ran from June–July 2020. They’re on my radar for future projects.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had a primitive version of our payment calculator tool on our website and as a result, we got just south of two million dollars’ worth of revenue for the company. We can directly attribute it to patients coming through that tool. With this heightened experience and enhanced UX from a data point perspective, I have no doubt that the million-dollar figure will increase in the future.

Leanware is incredibly responsive. Their team is quick to reply and fantastic at tackling problems. I like their approach. When I presented them with a challenge, they took it on personally. It makes it fun for them, and I can sense that they enjoy digging into figuring out a solution.

How did Leanware perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated through email and Fiverr chat. The projects they’ve taken on have been quite small to date, so we haven’t needed true project management touchpoints.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Carlos’ enthusiasm and communication were major highlights of the engagement. I’ve worked with other offshore developers and unlike them, Carlos was always connected and communicating. That kind of response time is excellent.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing, that comes to mind. They tackle projects quickly and efficiently.

I’m the co-founder and head of IT at Toleap Consulting AB, an IT consulting agency.

What challenge were you trying to address with Leanware?

We needed to reconnect a couple of defunct services so that we’d be able to talk to each other. We had pre-existing documentation for these services, but we expected the implementation to be convoluted. We needed some professional help in connecting them by way of APIs.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We needed to connect the Twitch streaming service with FastSpring, an e-commerce company that allows for digital storefronts. Essentially, they streamlined our purchase notification system. They developed a product where if a customer purchases an item, a notification entailing the details of the purchase is sent to the other service. That information is then processed in the secondary system.

We’re now executing some localization projects in Spanish and Portuguese. We’re working to improve the web solution they delivered in preparation for a major use case.

We worked with 2–3 teammates. One of them was our primary points of contact, which worked out really well.

How did you come to work with Leanware?

I found them on a freelancing platform. We’d been looking for a while since the scope of the project required a niche skillset. We needed the right expertise and resources to handle the task. Leanware was the first company we came across who seemed to meet our requirements. We had a lengthy discussion with them before deciding that they were the right fit for us. Our collaboration has since grown, so they now handle multiple projects for us.

Leanware has adhered to our specifications well, so everything has been working the way it should. I feel that that’s a major testament to the quality of their work.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They maintain really clear communication. They deliver the exact requirements in an exceptionally timely fashion. Their documentation of the final product is similarly precise and reliable.

No. I’ve been very satisfied with them thus far.

They’re very organized in terms of methodology. We used Jira and other scrum tools, and their communication was very good.

They were interested in identifying and solving our problem. They thought more about what the users were facing than about the technology itself.

Everyone loves the software and says it’s very good for the business. The software is very intuitive. It was something we really needed.

We use Microsoft Teams. It’s a really nice partnership. They offer great support. When we need something, they support us quickly. When we talk with Carlos, he shows us that he understands what we need and adds value to our process. It’s been a really nice experience working with him. I’m in discussions with management to work with him on a second project.

Their work is very good. They’re transparent. When they’re not able to do something, they let us know why it’s not possible, and then they suggest other solutions. They’re very quick when they commit to something. They’re very professional. I really like working with them.

My management said that they are expensive but their professional work is worth the price.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Leanware's work has resulted in faster internal development of both frontend and AI agents. Before working with them, our frontend was taking longer to develop in a scalable way. Leanware has rebuilt it so that we can easily leverage components when a UI is needed. Moreover, in-the-loop workflows are critical for our platform, and Leanware has helped us improve the resilience and durability of those workflows with their contributions to our workflow engine.
