I'm the CTO of Reachr, a business development platform that provides independent recruiters with high-quality leads and tools to quickly connect with potential clients, helping them drive more revenue.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Leanware to accomplish for Reachr?

I had already built an MVP myself, so I hired Leanware to build out a new feature set I thought was necessary to commercialize my product.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Leanware has developed a fully functional email outreach sequencing feature. I came to them with designs, so we built it according to the specifications, both frontend and backend, taking into consideration a desire to move fast and stick to the MVP, not enterprise level. As I'm a hands-on CTO, we worked together — daily standups, architecture decisions — but that's the feature they developed.

How did you come to work with Leanware?

We found them through ChatGPT research. We chose them over other options because they were a great culture fit, had good value for the cost, and were open to an in-person engagement in which I relocated to work alongside the team.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We broke up the feature into different sprints, each sprint having a deliverable that matched the Figma designs. I approved all code reviews to ensure code quality, which was maintained. We also tested each feature branch for functionality upon merging.

How did Leanware perform from a project management standpoint?

We mapped out the whole project according to a fixed scope and sought to make sure that we remained on target based on how much was left to do and how much time was left. We were very transparent about the scope the entire time. If something wasn't clearly indicated in Figma (from which the scope was priced) but revealed itself in engineering, we were collaborative in ensuring not to create scope creep or slow us down but resolve what came up. A vacation came up where we paused for some time, but that ended up allowing me some time to address other things.Overall, their project management is good. I'm very happy with my lead engineer. Furthermore, the executive team has reached out to me a couple of times to check in on how I was feeling or to see where they could provide help.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

They stuck to a schedule that I originally thought was a bit aggressive when I estimated it myself. Since I relocated to Bogotá to ensure the success of a hopefully long-term partnership, they were very generous in inviting me to a company event that showcased a fun and collaborative culture.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We lost a little bit of time in the beginning due to making sure that one aspect of the feature was built up to standard, but the team took a hands-on approach to rectify it, and we got back on course. That type of thing is to be expected, so I'd say they handled it well.

Leanware provides front- and backend development, DevOps, AI development, and GIS-related development. For the frontend, they've delivered user interfaces for our web application. For the backend, they've designed and developed server applications to process data. For DevOps, they've streamlined our CI/CD flow. For AI, they've provided useful insights on how we can leverage AI, including prompt engineering and context awareness. For GIS, they've built useful map interactions.

I searched for nearshore developers and chose Leanware because they responded quickly and showed great interest in what we were doing. They also seemed flexible and easy to work with.

We have monthly goals to complete specific requirements, and Leanware always meets those goals quite easily. Our customer requirements are quite vague, and we have a lot of freedom in how we implement them. Leanware has provided guidance and worked well in this environment.

Leanware's project management is good; they deliver on time. We communicate via Slack.

I like how we have access to a wide range of technical abilities even when working with a small team.
