Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the E-commerce manager for an online record store and have been the main point of contact with Lead Nerds through the course of our work with them.

For what projects/services did your company hire Lead Nerds, and what were your goals?

We were experiencing severe performance issues on our website and needed an agency to help make optimizations, as well as regular maintenance and feature adds.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We talked with nearly 30 agencies and found Lead Nerds to be approachable, professional, honest, and confident, with a high cost-to-value ratio compared to the competition.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Lead Nerds ran an audit of the site, identified key ways to improve performance, and helped transfer to a new host server. Lead Nerds also executed several large-scale development projects, such as a custom mega menu rebuild, bulk replacing thousands of product images, and setting up our Google Shopping feed.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with the owner, who served as a developer and project manager, and the team's lead developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After performance optimizations and server transfers, the site speed did increase dramatically. The mega menu rebuild made the site much easier to navigate, and the menu was more easily editable by our team. The bulk image replacement project greatly improved the appearance of the site, and the Google Shopping setup allowed for our store to appear in more organic searches.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Lead Nerds communicated using email and weekly video calls, as well as Monday.com as their project management software.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Lead Nerds are incredibly honest and hardworking, and we truly feel cared for by them. We always felt like they were working with the best interests of our business in mind. Lead Nerds also managed their projects efficiently and were very easy to communicate with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had no issues working with Lead Nerds.

I work for an online fitness company that provides fitness programs for people across the country and internationally for personalized coaching and nutrition support.

We’ve worked with Lead Nerds on a ton of different projects.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re using Lead Nerds for website design, sales funnels, marketing, digital ads, and SEO campaigns, among many other things. They’ve designed our website from scratch, and they’ve developed the majority of the website’s content. While we’ve done social media and content marketing on our own, they’ve set up systems for our ads. Going forward, we’re going to do a complete site overhaul. 

What is the team composition?

We work with Jessica (Founder) and another person who does web design. 

How did you come to work with Lead Nerds?

We’ve had a personal connection for five years, and we’ve worked together before in my other company, so we hired them for this engagement. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent under $5,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in October 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve used a lot of other web designers and developers, and Lead Nerds is the most knowledgeable among them. We’ve never had an issue, and they’ve always accomplished everything we want to work out. Every time we have an idea, they make it happen. Statistically, there’s also been an increase in both the leads, traffic, and conversion rate on our website. 

How did Lead Nerds perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m responsible for project management, and Lead Nerds has been very good at communicating and staying on top of issues. They keep us updated, and they give us feedback in a timely manner. We use WhatsApp to communicate with our team and project members. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The Lead Nerds team is very professional, and they’re the most knowledgeable people that I’ve ever worked with. They’re very friendly and easy to work with. Apart from that, they operate as an extension of our team, and all of our projects are very collaborative. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

If we were going to start over, it would be great for them to add a project blueprint. They can lay out timelines, results, and everything else that we can expect instead of simply telling us what they’re going to do, which is more ambiguous.

Make sure you have clear expectations.

We had many conversions shortly after we launched our site and our goals we fulfilled. They were also amazing at explaining how I use everything and are still there for support anytime we need it.
