We wanted to create a non-commercial mobile app for iOs and Android for children teenager on the basis of a two-language (German and Ukraininan) wimmelbook “Askanija-Nowa” by Katja Henrikh which tells the life-story of the German grounder of the national preserve “Askania-Nova” - Friedrich Falz-Fein.

With this app our customers could get acquainted with Mr. Falz-Fein, watch the cartoon about him and solve the quiz: both in the wimmelbook and on the exhibition posters. It was an attempt to spread the knowledge about the German heritage in Ukraine amongst the youngsters in an interactive and an unconventional way.

We asked our partners about their experiences with AR-projects and developers, made the list of 5 and sent our request to each.

We had a series of meetings: at the very beginning - to define our goals, timeline and certain wishes to the app (it was pretty hard for us, because we’d never worked on such projects before, but Kifreez was very helpful with ideas); during the development - to specify some procedures; after the presentation of the app to the public - to gather the feedback from all parties and to improve the app for further usage. In the meantime we used the Google-Docs for changing the ideas and completing the portfolio.

At least 5: project manager, IT-specialist, developer, designer, professional moderator / actor. I interacted directly only with the lead team of the first two.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It was a great experience for our team and our target group because we presented the app during the biggest book fair in Ukraine and we see it as a success story. After the launch the poster exhibition and the app were used during the summer camp for teens from the German minority and is still being a part of the language animation programm of the German House Kyiv. We also gifted more than 530 wimmelbook to the libraries for kids and youngsters in Kyiv and other regions of Ukraine.

It was easy to communicate with Kifreez team - they used the most convenient channels of communication with us, kept us updated and helped us greatly to specify our needs at the beginning. In some problematic cases they contacted us in order to ask for our opinion, but also proposed their solutions.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Kifreez was very client-oriented and professionally honest with even if we were poor in our judgments. So it was really nice to cooperate with people who have big hearts and uncommon vision.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Timeline of the project was a bit ambitious and before the launch we were a bit nervous whether it’s realistic to test the app properly. But in the end everything went good.

We are happy with the result as it was done within our deadline, with good price on the market and we integrated project quite fast into our game.

We hired Kifreez to create the main characters, illustrations of our brand. Uma & Umi stands for Ursa Major and Ursa Minor - the international abbreviation for the Big and Little Bears constellations.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed Kifreez to recreate, bring to live the Bears from our brand logo that later would be used in further story telling, marketing, books and mobile application. The timing was vital as we were getting ready for the annual marketing brand presentation!

Kifreez was recommended to us by friends at media company, as they have a good reputation for creating characters and animations for children, and they've had some well known retail marketing cases for kids in portfolio.

Our project was divided in stages:

1. Create main characters
2. Create illustrations for the book according to existing the story
3. Create design of the book, lay-outs ready for printing

All of this needed to be created keeping in mind further AR app development

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As planned, within agreed time-frame we have managed to create a beautiful gift book, story and recreate our main characters.

After we were done with official part. Taking into account time sensitive situation, they created chat group for fast communication, assigned responsible people for each task from both sides. We knew exactly what was happening in real time and what would happen next.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

A feeling that you are in good hands. Guys were treating our project as their own. They were available 24/7 and were very patient and understanding with some last-minute changes.

I am working as project manager at NGO "Ukrainian Legal Advisory Group". We are a team of analysts and lawyers. We were dealing with project one of aim in which was creation a web-platform on issues of international justice in context of situation in Ukraine. The main challenge was to organize big amount of information on web-site and make it 'friendly' for users.

The main goal for project was to create a web-site which would be simple to use and to find information.

They were recommended to us. We did a research and communicated with three companies. Deciding factors to select this vendor was cost of work and vision of results they could present to us.

They designed, developed and configured new web-site. The project began with two work-meetings during which we discussed points which were important to us and vision of vendor.

Once we approved all discussed points, they started to work on design and construction. At March we were presented an optional version of web-site. After we approved design, they started to build it. Clear and final version we got in April.

The project team had about 5 people. We just contacted with manager and project developer and other communication was made by Kifrezz. Team was optional and functional, so size of the team depends on goals need to be achieved.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Results of this project was an important step to NGO "Ukrainian Legal Advisory Group". In was a major achievement for our donors and NGO-community in Ukraine. Thanks to it we now have unique platform to share analytical information which was presented during expert discussion.

Project management was great. The team complied with deadlines, provided clear explanations, and was open for discussion. We communicated with Skype and Telegram.

Company is open for clients and easy in process of communication. Team is creative even with such difficult project as was ours. For us was very important that team could propose fresh ideas during project that made web-site interesting and different among others.
