What challenge were you trying to address with KDW Creatives?

Since we’re a product-based business, we needed help with graphic design for our packaging and advertising.

What was the scope of their involvement?

KDW Creatives has designed various product packaging for us. Their work includes a bottle design for our creams and candles. To kick things off, we usually send over various packaging materials with multiple textures and paper types. Then, the team would come back with a mockup printed on them. They also help us with the imagery on our social media ads. 

Furthermore, KDW Creatives give us advice on the best way to package our products using sustainable materials. Additionally, they provide consultancy on product photography, videography, unboxing videos, demonstrations, and general web design.

We work with a lead consultant.

How did you come to work with KDW Creatives?

The lead consultant and I went to school together.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about £10,000 (approximately $14,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2016, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

KDW Creatives’ creative direction has helped us immensely — they always have ideas to help us shape a new product. The team always hits the mark. We’re grateful for the project and the strong relationship we’ve built.

How did KDW Creatives perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is always on point, and everything is well-communicated. KDW Creatives is flexible and collaborative, so it’s very easy to work with them. Furthermore, they’re transparent and always let me know what they’re working on. To communicate, we typically use emails and WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about them?

KDW Creatives is a future-oriented team that keeps our end goal in mind. Furthermore, they make sure that it’s a collaborative process and bring an impressive level of commitment.

There’s nothing they could improve.

Be as collaborative as you can be and make sure it’s a partnership.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the owner of Hickman Design which offers a range of guides about Fine Art Printmaking methods.

For what projects/services did your company hire KDW Creatives, and what were your goals?

We were looking to reshoot all of the photography for a few of our guides that were badly shot and quite dated. We needed to hire a professional photographer to reshoot all of the photos on the guide pages of the website.

How did you select KDW Creatives?

After reviewing a few local photographers we decided to go with KDW Creatives to the amount of experience in photography based upon the portfolio on the company website.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

We sat down and had a meeting to go over the shot list for the website, as we were shooting photos for the equipment and processes of 3 types of printmaking which were, screen printing, lino printing and monoprinting. As there was a lot to cover we needed a detailed list of shots for each process that we were covering, once this was done we sat down and booked in a few dates to shoot each bit of equipment and also the different stages to the processes.

The final product resulted in over 300 shots to choose from, we worked through this list with KDW Creatives and got down to around 25 - 40 shots depending on the type of printmaking method we covered.

We only worked with one person from KDW Creatives who was the owner of the business.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since we reshot the imagery on our guides we have noticed that time on page on the website has increased, along with a decrease in bounce rates. Having professional photography has also helped to make the site look professional and sleek, with great feedback from our viewers.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project started with an online meeting where we got to know each other, KDW asked a lot of questions to get to know the brand and what we were looking for. We had all shoots booked into our calendars from the start so we knew when we had to get all of our equipment ready for.

Communication was kept clear and concise throughout the project, using email and WhatsApp, which was a great help for any quickfire questions we had. The shoots all went ahead on time and edits were made within a timely manner, clear instructions were given as to what was needed on our end too.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were extremely happy with the outcome of photography, we did not expect that photos on the site were that important until we updated them. We were overall happy with the whole process and organization of KDW Creatives' works.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Overall we do not have any improvements that we would recommend.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am one of the business founders at Anti Theft Bags that sells bags which are designed to stop your goods from being stolen by thieves, we aim to test the products that we stock in everyday environments.

We worked with KDW Creatives for our product photography, we needed to shoot photos for a new range of bags for the site.

How did you select this vendor?

One of the people I worked with on the website had actually used KDW Creatives services and recommended that we use her for this project.

We were to get all products in the new range of bags shot for the website which included technical shots and broad shots of all the bags together.

We worked with 1 person who was the owner of KDW Creatives.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We had an uptick in click-through rates to our product pages since we introduced the new range of bags, we did not want to have the bulk standard photos from the suppliers as they were bland and did not really sell the product to the end user. We also can say there has been some increased sales since updating the product photography too.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We communicated mainly using WhatsApp and email which worked well for our schedule as we were quite busy, when a call was needed KDW was more than happy to schedule one in to go over the finer details.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We found the team's time management impressive and organization helped to keep things on schedule.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We fond the product photography services to be exactly what were hoping for and have not got any recommendations for improvements.
