I’m the owner of Power Planter Inc, a manufacturer and seller of garden and earth augers for landscapers and pest control companies.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with JumpFly?

We needed JumpFly to give a fresh look and insight into our SEO and PPC efforts. For context, we’d been working with the same SEO firms for the last couple of years before we hired JumpFly, and we thought it would be good to have a fresh set of eyes to check our progress.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I didn’t initially give JumpFly any briefs; they had our current website to check, which somewhat counted as their project brief. They pointed out obvious flaws — such as keyword stuffing and other similar strategies — before I could point them out. This gave them some insights into what they had to do for us.

Currently, JumpFly is helping us reach a balance in terms of content that Google and other search engines prefer versus content that the average consumer will enjoy interacting with and reading. Based on our experience, many SEO teams ensure their content is great for search engines first and put the actual consumers second. Given that, we’ve asked JumpFly to create content that’s both consumer- and search-engine-friendly. They’re now in the process of redoing the entire website’s content.

For PPC, JumpFly has given us a full library of assets and researched potential targeting areas. They’ve even checked out weather maps since it’s snowing and cold in some areas, where our products don’t have much use. Meanwhile, in the southern part of the US, it’s starting to warm up for the spring planting season, and people are starting to get off-site again. Given that, they’re working on geofencing and targeting specific products in those areas. Our PPC campaigns are on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Google, and Microsoft. We’re currently looking into doing campaigns on TikTok, too.

What is the team composition?

JumpFly has a team working on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest, and a separate team works on Google and Microsoft campaigns. A third team does all of the SEO work. I deal with three main leads. In total, we work with around 7–8 people from JumpFly.

How did you come to work with JumpFly?

I found JumpFly through Google. I was looking for SEO and PPC companies within a reasonable distance from our rural area but didn’t find a good team. As a result, I expanded my search and targeted the Chicagoland area, and JumpFly stood out. I then broadened my search further and looked at the nationwide level, and their team still stood out, which was shocking.

Moreover, I sent out requests and contact forms and kept track of the vendors’ response times and whether or not I received personalized replies. Eventually, I read various comments about them on different websites, including Google and Clutch. These comments resonated with me. On top of that, I sent a contact form to JumpFly on a Friday evening, and they emailed me back within a 12-hour timeframe. Ultimately, I decided to hire them.

We’ve invested over $25,000 in the engagement, excluding the ad spend.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our initial conversation started in October 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

December–February is typically the slow season for our business because it’s cold. Despite this, we’ve seen an increase of about 100%–150% increase in sales while significantly decreasing our expenses.

How did JumpFly perform from a project management standpoint?

JumpFly is spot on in terms of deadlines, and their communication is outstanding. If I want them to tweak or change something, they do it in a timely manner. I have a monthly meeting with one of their teams and biweekly meetings with the others. For tools, we use Zoom and Google Meet a lot. They’re close enough to us that I’ve also gone to their office and had in-person meetings with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The JumpFly team is highly collaborative. They’re always tweaking things and looking for better ways to work. For comparison, other companies have a set-and-forget mentality. By contrast, JumpFly corresponds with my website developer regarding our content and how they can implement things for SEO and PPC, ensuring everything is in sync. This is awesome from a business owner standpoint — I’ve got teams working together, and I don’t have to play the middleman. This has been a huge bonus for me.

On top of that, their members do whatever it takes to make something happen. For instance, I was once supposed to have a call with their SEO director but was away at a show. Their SEO director and my website developer did the call, and they simply sent me a recap via email about what they’d discussed and what was going to happen.

JumpFly was communicative and proactive and kept us in the loop and it was also very educational, so I am proceeding with more confidence and this is not so foreign to me.

The onboarding process was so easy, it only took 2 weeks instead of months that other ad agencies took to learn my business and get up to speed. Other agencies started out with over 100% ACOS, which was insane, it took months for them to bring the ACOS down. Wheras JumpFly immediately achieved lower ACOS% than any other ad agency I've used in the past.

Another benefit of JumpFly is that they are pretty much a full-service Amazon agency. Along with an ad agency, they offer other services - a Kapoq dashboard, a service that monitors Amazon and gets you reimbursements for unwaranted chargebacks, and a discount on a service that provides Amazon review removal. They were able to get Amazon to update a product listing page that I've been trying on my own to do for over a year. Also, they were able to accomodate both our Seller and Vendor accounts with the same cost, while other agencies wanted to charge me double. They are Amazon experts and will answer any of your questions and help you in any way they can. I think that's a great partnership and look forward to many, many years with them.

We have been extremely pleased with the results we've seen from JumpFly. From the start, they took swift action to improve our site's navigation, address technical issues like redirects, and optimize our pages, which led to increased sessions on our site.

More recently, they've been collaborating with us on keyword mapping and content development to drive even more organic search traffic, and we've already seen a noticeable improvement in sessions as a result. The JumpFly PPC team helped us revise our target keywords, keyword strategy, ad copy, and conversion tracking through HubSpot and CallRail. The SEO team provided an exceptional keyword strategy roadmap, which we fine tuned throughout the year. We first engaged JumpFly with the goal of improving ROI and ROAS after seeing these key measurements decline for 2 years straingt using another agency. JumpFly took a deep dive into our campaings, goals, and performance and developed a new paid ads campaing. It did not take long to see the results.

JumpFly has consistently met our goal of 4x minimum ROI for our paid search campaigns; with many months far exceeding our target ROI. In addition, the retention rate of customers acquired via paid search has improved month over month.

Pandemic error was very challenging for our social media efforts and we continued to have performace issues until we engaged Jumpfly for this service in late 2023. We have made significant gains in our Facebook ads campaigns since engaging with JumpFly for Meta ads management and strategy. ROAS have been exceptional, and our impressions and brand awareness has grown substantially.
