I hired Jafton for two things: to redevelop my website and to develop an app where my clients can access previous consultations/notes, receive next appointment reminders, text through the app, view an interactive roadmap so they won’t get confused, and see the end goal along with a list of recommendations on what needs to be completed.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

So far, I can’t measure the success of the app because it’s still in progress. However, Jafton did share a few design variations, and I was able to choose one to move forward with. As for the website, I like the design, but in my opinion, it lacks a bit of variety since they’ve only completed the home page and the about me page so far. On the bright side, it has made it easier to advertise my services, as my clients can now easily get in touch with me through the site.

Based on what they’ve shared, it looks like they’re on track to complete the project on time, and the website was delivered as scheduled. Most of the time, they respond to my requests within one day. I did have one instance where I wanted to add additional functionality to the app, and they accepted it, which I really appreciated since I thought they might charge extra for it.

I really appreciate how responsive they are when I reach out. Sometimes, I can even schedule a call with them on the same day if needed. Additionally, I was impressed that I got to meet Bobir in person. He actually flew from Dallas to meet with me. That really stood out to me because when I spoke to other agencies, they only offered to meet over Zoom or their CEO was busy and can't meet in person. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something Jafton could have done differently?

I believe they could improve their pricing structure because, when I received their proposal, I didn’t fully understand it until I spoke with them. I was confused by the split monthly payments and the 25% upfront payment. I wasn’t sure why they required an upfront payment instead of just dividing the total into equal monthly payments.

The platform's core functionality will be built on a no-code foundation, ensuring fast deployment and scalability.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Unfortunately, there were no measurable outcomes that demonstrated progress or success in my project with Jafton Software. Despite over a year of collaboration, the project remained incomplete due to their inability to meet critical requirements—specifically, the CASA Tier 2 requirements for Google's verification, which they initially claimed to understand but later admitted they couldn't fulfill. The lack of completion on this essential component meant that the project did not achieve its intended goals, and no successful milestones were met.

During my collaboration with Jafton Software, their project management was significantly below expectations. Despite the original project timeline being set for a few months, the development extended over a year. This wasn't entirely problematic, as there were aspects that weren't clear to me either, and in that regard, they worked with me.

However, they struggled to deliver items on time, particularly concerning the essential CASA Tier 2 requirements for Google's verification, which were included in the initial project scope. When Google brought up the CASA Tier 2 requirements, Jafton Software admitted they didn't know what it was. Their responses lacked clarity and urgency when these issues were raised. Eventually, they admitted they couldn't fulfill this crucial requirement, which was disappointing given its importance to the project's success.

While they were polite in their interactions, they didn't effectively address my needs or provide viable solutions to my challenges. This lack of responsiveness and accountability made the project experience frustrating and ultimately unproductive.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

To be honest, there was nothing particularly impressive or unique about my collaboration with this company. The process was frustrating AFTER I paid them the full amount, and I believe I would have had better results hiring a developer directly from a platform like Upwork. This experience has unfortunately soured my perception of working with agencies.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Jafton could have done differently?

Yes, there are several areas where Jafton could have improved. Firstly, maintaining consistent effort throughout the project—even after receiving full payment—would have ensured better outcomes. Their dedication seemed to diminish once they were paid in full, which negatively impacted progress. Secondly, offering client support and resolution, such as compensation, a refund, or assistance to address the project's shortcomings, would have demonstrated professionalism and a commitment to client satisfaction. Lastly, adopting fair billing practices by structuring payments based on achieved deliverables rather than arbitrary timelines would have been more appropriate. Requesting the remaining payment before completing the work, especially when significant parts of the project remained unfinished, was inappropriate. These improvements could have significantly enhanced the overall experience.
