After a bit of an identity crisis at our growth level, we needed corporate identity and rebranding. We wanted a company that could incorporate our team's personalities with the companies abilities and marketable traits. Jacob Tyler did such an incredible job with this, really getting to the heart of our team, they were referred to as the "people whisperers" in our office. We were all blown away about their listening abilities and ability to develop our identity so accurately. 11 voices became one. Our focus was immediate. The branding they did to develop our identity was professional and almost poetic. They have the very best creative and language. Their ability to capture our spirit in succinct phrases we are able to use in marketing is just so powerful. The website they designed has garnered a lot of attention in our national network. Our clients have related to it immediately. The language and message created, combined with the highest end creative has landed us a very top website. It has been incredible.

Jacob Tyler created excitement and cohesion in our team with their talents. We were working without any mission, even though we had a mission. The team wasn't behind our identity. Going through the organized branding and identity process was huge! When they combine that with a web design that promotes this identity, we really came together behind our brand. Incredible. Our clients really understand and relate to our messaging and it feels great. New prospects have a world class website which convey our level of services and we continue to grow, with more maturity and a website that conveys the company strength and services.

The response time was honestly hard to believe. Our team all reported they were super professional and at the same time fun to work with. 
Each response copied in all the team members that should be involved on our team which kept things moving most easily since we were all in the know and able to give input. Feedback was welcomed and encouraged. Easy to have great discussions. They always gave us their opinion when he hit tough decisions or forks in the road. Our schedule was consistent and on time. They were the best at creating a brand identity and, from there, developing branding that went perfectly with it. The websites are the absolute "latest greatest" in content and graphic design. Jacob Tyler was incredibly consistent and fast in all facets. No kidding. Not one issue. Great creative debate and results. No shortcomings here.

I’m the director of marketing at Dempsey Construction, a mid-sized general contractor in San Diego, California. We have around 95 employees and do about $200 million per year in business.

What challenge were you trying to address with Jacob Tyler?
We hired Jacob Tyler to rebrand our organization, starting with building an entirely new website from the ground up. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, we did a day-long onboarding session. The entire Jacob Tyler team was going to work on our account. It was a four-and-a-half-hour working session where they met our group leaders and learned about every aspect of our business. From there, we looked at templates for where we wanted our website to go. We locked into a new color palette and developed a new brand guide.
 
Once we all agreed on the direction, look, and feel of the website, I took over and worked closely with Jacob Tyler on building our content, copy, layout, and site map. They refined our copy and new tag lines. Everything was built from scratch on WordPress so that it’d be easy for me to make edits and maintain the site once we moved through the QC process.
 
We also integrated other things, such as site maps and SEO. Moreover, I had a portfolio of beautiful images and videos, so we didn’t need a lot of new media. The team utilized those assets and developed a horizontal scrolling feature instead of a vertical one.
The next part of our engagement will start in January 2024, and they’ll develop our new logo based on the brand guidelines we’ve established during phase one.

Around 4–5 teammates are involved in the majority of the work, while their president gets involved as needed. Another team member has helped us launch the website as a technical expert.
How did you come to work with Jacob Tyler?
Our team found Jacob Tyler on Clutch via Google. They’d also done a couple of projects for companies in our industry, giving them some validation aside from what we had already read in their reviews online.

Meanwhile, we did 3–4 rounds of interviews with creative agencies, starting with phone calls and Zoom interviews. Our team had an internal meeting to review the interviews. From there, we requested proposals from the agencies and conducted interviews with their senior leadership.
 
Jacob Tyler came into our office, where the interview essentially turned into a collaboration meeting that lasted two hours. Our owner decided right away that they were the ones we wanted to work with, and that kicked off the engagement.

The project started in February 2023, and we finished the first phase in November 2023. The partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our senior leadership team is truly happy with the website, and that’s great considering that it’s difficult to get them to all agree on something. That’s a success in itself.
 
Besides that, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback from our clients and partners who have seen the website. It’s modern and forward-thinking for our industry, which means not everyone is going to understand it. However, it resonates with the most important people from our audience. As far as I’m concerned, that’s a complete success. Overall, Jacob Tyler’s work has been excellent.
How did Jacob Tyler perform from a project management standpoint?
Jacob Tyler’s project management is good. They meet our deadlines and stay on budget. For communication, we mainly use texts, phone calls, Zoom, and Google Meet. I have relatively consistent communication with them throughout the entire process.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Samantha has been great, and she treats our project like it’s her baby. She’s highly communicative and responsive. Our organization has tight brand standards and high expectations, and she’s taken all of that in stride. She’s easy to work with on a difficult project — she’s been incredible.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any. It’s been an excellent experience working with them, and I’m confident in their work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Decision-makers are often hesitant to build a new website because of the price. However, a new website can modernize your organization and brand, so it’s worth every penny. In our industry, we want the best quality product. You want a building that’s going to be there and that you’re proud of — it should be top of the line and stay standing for a long time. 

The same goes for marketing. You want something you’re proud of, so remember that a good product isn’t cheap, and a cheap product isn’t good. You can’t be afraid to spend real money in marketing if you want great results.

I’m the VP of sales and marketing for a BioTech company. Our core competency is to synthesize cannabinoids, which we then sell out to the recreational and adult use of the cannabis industry. We also sell our products to the hemp wellness industry and to traditional packaged goods companies.

We were primarily trying to raise awareness about our company and our offering. Secondly, our products are fairly complex to talk about and to create a value proposition amongst our target customers. Thus, we needed an agency to help us educate our target customers and have them understand why they should purchase our products and build other products around ours’.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, Jacob Tyler helped us with our messaging. The onboarding process lasted six weeks, during which we went through a thorough learning exercise to understand what needed to happen.

Since then, Jacob Tyler has helped us execute a comprehensive awareness strategy, which has included SEO, keyword research, backlinking, content strategy, brand strategy, and demand generation. Our different efforts take different positions in our priority list. Still, we’re constantly reprioritizing one thing over another, depending on our needs, the products we’re trying to move, and the gaps in the market’s understanding of what we do.

We have a creative budget as part of our contract, so Jacob Tyler has also helped us develop the creative assets needed for our strategy. These assets include social media posts, blogs, and other types of content for marketing purposes. Additionally, they’ve helped us redesign our website so that we can capture more traffic.

Currently, we’re working with Jacob Tyler on a demand generation and database development project. This project will be a LinkedIn-focused initiative to help us get more people into our marketing and sales funnel.

I was referred to Jacob Tyler’s president and reached out to him. From our first contact and all the way through the bidding process, they took very good care of us, so my initial experience with them was very solid.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Thus far, Jacob Tyler has done everything they’ve promised, so we’ve been very happy with the results of our engagement; they’ve been a great partner. Their team has been very good at synthesizing our message into what resonates with our target customers. They’ve successfully overcome the learning curve around what we do, taking our complex and nuanced messaging and transforming it into what we wanted the market to understand about us.

Moreover, Jacob Tyler’s SEO efforts have helped us reach the number one search result on three keywords. We’ve also consistently seen our rankings improve on the different keywords we leverage. Thanks to their SEO work, we recently had our biggest month ever of website traffic.

We have a very rigid compliance stance because we’re held very accountable by the FDA on a number of levels. As a drug development company, we’re held accountable for all compliance around FDA drug development. Still, we have a commercial side to our business, so there’s a lot of scrutiny from the FDA around what we can and can’t say.

Thus, our compliance stance has been yet another learning curve that Jacob Tyler has needed to overcome. Their team has done a tremendous job at ensuring that what they do stays squarely on the right side of FDA compliance.

How did Jacob Tyler perform from a project management standpoint?

Jacob Tyler has performed exceptionally well. Typically, the delays are caused by our organization. Still, they’ve effectively and politely pushed us toward the end goal of the project. Their team has never missed a deadline; they’ve always delivered on time and under budget. 

In addition to that, the onboarding process was very thorough and rewarding, and Jacob Tyler handled it like a professional. Thanks to that process, we were able to get off the ground very quickly. We use email for quick communication, Zoom and Google Meet for our weekly meetings, and Airtable for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Jacob Tyler has been flexible around our needs. Whatever we ask them for, they’re very willing to help us get it done, and they’ve been very accommodating to our requests. They’ve even done work for our partners who don’t have a marketing budget, helping them push out messaging around products that will ultimately help us gain new customers.

There’s nothing Jacob Tyler could do better. They’ve been very consistent in their approach and support, and we’ve never had an issue.

I’m the acting CMO of Greenerways Organic, a household goods company specializing in organic products like outdoor bug repellents and personal care products. We also have private label and contract manufacturing capabilities, and we have over 350,000 square feet of warehouse space in downtown Los Angeles.

In the late part of last year, we decided that we were in the right place to do a proper rebrand commemorating the 10th year anniversary of Greenerways. At the time, our company was only in the bug repellent and cleaning category, so our products were very seasonal.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jacob Tyler is not only our rebranding partner, but they’ve also become our agency of record. Initially, they did some good customer insight studies to learn more about our followers. Then, they helped us come up with a new logo for our company.

We’ve worked separately with our chemist to create new formulations, but Jacob Tyler has been in charge of all of the packaging design required. Currently, they’re also building our website.

They’ve already delivered our branding guidelines and logo, but we’re still in the rebranding phase. Once we’re done with our rebranding, packaging design, and website development, we will start working with them on creative digital marketing.

What is the team composition?

We have eight different people assigned to our account working on different parts of the project. Their team includes two designers, a senior account manager, a copywriter, and 2–3 people in charge of the digital and social media strategy. Jacob Tyler’s owner is also very involved in the project, helping us ensure that everything is on point.

I found Jacob Tyler while searching for top rebranding and PR companies on different sites like Forbes and Financial Times. I had put together a proper RFP, so I interviewed a total of 20 different companies. From those 20 companies, we narrowed down our options to 10 and then to three; Jacob Tyler was among those three companies.

We finally awarded them the business because they were incredibly personable. Their personalities shined during their presentation, and the owner was present in every meeting.

They also proved to be very dedicated to their work. For example, once we hired them, four of their team members, including the owner, drove from San Diego to Los Angeles to meet us in person despite COVID-19.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We don’t have results yet because our project hasn’t moved into anything actionable, and our customers haven’t seen anything related to our new brand yet. However, the extensive study that Jacob Tyler did for us became the benchmark for our new ethos. Additionally, they’ve been very helpful in the design of our new logo and packaging.

When Jacob Tyler asked me to leave a review for them, I immediately agreed because the dynamic of our work, the rate at which they do tasks, and their level of accessibility and flexibility are great. I see them as an extension of our group, and our teamwork is really positive.

How did Jacob Tyler perform from a project management standpoint?

Jacob Tyler is fantastic from a project management standpoint. We have a scheduled Monday check-in meeting with the account manager, where we align on the goals for the week.

Every Wednesday, we have a call with the owner and the different stakeholders of both companies to touch base. Finally, on Fridays, the account manager and I get together to see if we met the deadlines and see if we missed anything.

Apart from those three standing virtual meetings, most of our communication is via email. We also communicate via text messages. Overall, they’re very available.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Jacob Tyler is incredible at making a bespoke dynamic. They recognize that not all small brands and clients are the same, so they adjust to what works best for each company. They don’t make clients follow a strict format or regimen, and they adapt very well to their needs.

Jacob Tyler makes the work dynamic enjoyable, and they’re incredibly intelligent. Additionally, they’re culturally the right fit for us. We believe in transparency, and they operate the same way; everything they do is honest and easy to follow.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know what Jacob Tyler could improve on because I haven’t hit a bump in the road. The only hiccup we’ve had was regarding their expectations communication at the beginning. However, they changed the account manager, and that was fixed. Everything else has worked well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Come to the table prepared with what you want and the timeline in which you want it, and be open-minded to the way they will present their pitch back. What worked well for us was that we were prepared for what we needed to do, making the kick-off easier and more seamless.

We hired Jacob Tyler to update our brand identity and create a new modern website for us to bring into 2021.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We took three websites and consolidated them into one, and Jacob Tyler handled the design and development of that website. We also did a brand update, and their team handled all of our company’s branding materials, visual guidelines, and new mission statement. 

To tackle these deliverables, we had a number of meetings with Jacob Tyler to develop our tone and personality as a brand. They wrote website content and formulated its look and feel based on the brand personality that we identified. That included all the imagery, color palette, and typography that we used. Once all of those were developed, they translated them into actual website design.

So far, we’ve launched the first phase of this project. We’re currently working on phase two, which will be finished in November 2021.

I worked with Jacob Tyler on a website refresh project 10 years ago. Given that, I wanted to bring them in to create our new branding and website. Meanwhile, the other companies we considered thought the project was a big one. In fact, one vendor bowed out of it because it was too large for them to handle. Another vendor had a similar price point as Jacob Tyler, but their communication style wasn’t as great.

By contrast, Jacob Tyler was communicative. Les (Founder & CEO) reached out to me multiple times to talk about different points of the engagement. Their project manager was also amazing, flexible, and extremely communicative. In other words, their communication style truly won us over; they were also enthusiastic about our product — they were willing to take on this large, intense project.

Jacob Tyler is truly passionate about our project, and they have a personal approach to our engagement. Some of the other companies I’ve approached seem to be on it for the money. By contrast, Jacob Tyler seems to care about their clients. In fact, Les reaches out to us when we’re in sticky situations trying to resolve issues.

I would love to see them working more closely with their developers. Sometimes, the project manager promises me things that haven’t been cleared with their developers, who end up having a whole different idea about the timing of the tasks.

I’m the founder and president of a company that manufactures dermatological products for men.

We needed help with our marketing and advertising to boost our digital presence.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We were a new company, so Jacob Tyler started doing marketing research to help us establish our branding, positioning strategy, and messaging.

After that was completed, they helped us design and develop our Shopify website and related social media pages, as well as manage our social media campaigns. The site is a traditional e-commerce platform that incorporates all of the modern tools.

They also designed the packaging of our product. We sell our product directly to consumers, and it’s available wholesale to dermatologists, so Jacob Tyler helped me develop a traditional sales sheet used by our salespeople when soliciting dermatologists — that was an old-school type of marketing material.

What is the team composition?

We work with a team of five people from them, but various other Jacob Tyler’s members have participated when we’ve had questions requiring certain expertise. The core team includes developers, designers, and a copywriter.

How did you come to work with Jacob Tyler?

Our project started during the COVID-19 pandemic, so I primarily researched online, using Clutch as the starting point. I made a list of companies, reached out to them, and looked for referrals.  

Jacob Tyler was the only company that allowed in-person meetings, which was very important to me. I believe that in-person collaboration is critical in a creative process, and I don’t think that working remotely can facilitate true collaboration.

I liked the access I had to Jacob Tyler’s portfolio information as well. When I first started communicating with the candidates, Jacob Tyler was the most open in providing me detailed information on their entity, including work they’d done and clients I could contact. I was able to see those clients’ online presence.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent $180,000, and we have another $70,000 sitting in reserve for the first round of digital advertising.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in May 2020, and we’re going live at the beginning of July 2021, but we’re just waiting for a final packaging component. The delay was due to FDA timelines.

I’m going to be working with Jacob Tyler on an ongoing contract for digital advertising and marketing content management.

How did Jacob Tyler perform from a project management standpoint?

Jacob Tyler’s communication has been great at all levels. The most important part is that we’re still working together. We’ve been working in person with them, which is very important for me in this creative process. They have protocols in place for COVID-19, and everyone on the team is vaccinated.  

Although they have a hybrid model internally for project management, we have weekly meetings together. The project was broken down into 10 components, including branding, copywriting, packaging, and logo design, and all timelines set have been met.

They utilize standard tools for working online, including Zoom and Basecamp. They also use integrated Adobe technologies to view, change, and annotate mockups. I also have their CEO’s phone number, and I can reach out whenever I have a question.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What really distinguished Jacob Tyler from the beginning was that they assigned a large group to me, even though I was a new client. I like the ease of access that they offer and their transparency whenever I have a question.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I could provide greater feedback if the product was live. At this point, Jacob Tyler has followed the agreement.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

You should clearly state your needs and request a full definition of the services that Jacob Tyler will be offering you. I had a startup project encompassing a lot, and branding, positioning, and messaging were the foundation that, ultimately, lead to all the work across the project. 

Clients should focus on understanding how Jacob Tyler manages that process and getting examples of it. That really helped me see how their team worked, and I used it to compare them to other teams. I felt very comfortable understanding how they were going to develop those key elements.

We needed help with web development and branding. We wanted to improve our customer acquisition. We also were looking to turn our brand messaging into visual components and a customer journey. On our previous site, we had very low conversions because we didn’t understand the guest journey.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jacob Tyler created our entire Shopify website. We started out with several discovery meetings. From there, they built out our site and took time to understand all of our social integrations. The team also built out our product pages and cleaned up our content.

Jacob Tyler also implemented gift cards and integrated multiple ways to pay. The team recommended Okendo and implemented Klarna. They also downloaded a gift card software.

Additionally, they redid the photography on our website. We had some photos from a prior photoshoot, and Jacob Tyler went through and edited all those photos so they would follow the same format.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We only launched a couple of weeks ago, so we don’t have any metrics to share yet. We asked several dermatologists for their feedback; they said the site was authentic and easy to use. Current users also enjoy the black and white photos we incorporated.

How did Jacob Tyler perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re fantastic. The team is extremely responsive, easy to work with, and available. They always respond within a few minutes if not a few hours. Jacob Tyler is probably the best company I’ve ever worked with in terms of project management. We use BugHerd and Basecamp for project management. We communicated via phone, email, and text. We’ve also met in person a couple of times.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like their site mapping and how much they understand consumer behavior. The team has a good understanding of how to map out and build a website. We formed a good relationship, and they even asked us to participate in a video for Jennifer’s birthday. I trust them, and I know they have my best interest in mind.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to make sure you give them as much information as possible. They do not mind readers. Be able to portray what you’re looking for. The more you communicate what you want to see, the better the end product will be.

I’m a project manager for United Fulfillment Solutions, Inc. We’re a third-party logistics, fulfillment, and shipping company.

We’re in an industry that’s harder to understand, and marketing isn’t our strong suit. We didn’t market ourselves properly, so that’s why we turned to Jacob Tyler — to bring us to the next level.

When Jacob Tyler came on board, we started to work on our branding. We started from scratch, and they came up with our brand guidelines and updated our internal documents accordingly. Their team created all the content and creative materials. They’re now working on our sales deck and other marketing materials. Their team currently works on our SEO initiatives too. 

We’re taking a phased approach to the engagement. Once we finish the two phases we mapped out, their team will start working on our website. That phase will also include photography and videography services.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Jacob Tyler’s work blows us away. We didn’t have documented brand guidelines before working with them. The guidelines helped us step up our game and captured our audience. They gave us a different perspective on how we work. The guidelines will also play into our sales collateral, which will produce a good ROI.

We’re excited about our other projects becoming a reality with them. We’re excited to start the photography project.  

How did Jacob Tyler perform from a project management standpoint?

They use Basecamp as a communication and project management tool. Their team creates a timeline for projects in Basecamp that they update. There are also checklists within each project’s scope. It’s a great way for us to communicate as well as through email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Each member of their team has a different creative outlook. It’s unique and comes together nicely.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have anything negative to share.

Ensure that you partner with a vendor that’s willing to learn about your industry. It was hard to find someone that was willing to learn about what we do.
