I’m the founder and CEO of a language class marketplace. We sell English classes in ten countries.

What challenge were you trying to address with Rademade?

We needed help to develop the platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

During the first 3–4 years of our collaboration, we weren’t engaged in active development. They worked a few hours per week. In the last few years, Rademade developed our website, which helps users select language courses. Using PHP, their team’s front- and backend developers, as well as designers, built the platform from scratch. Their frontend developers have also helped to create a mobile version of the website.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with the developers directly. The Rademade team includes PHP and frontend developers as well as a designer and a business analyst. I’m also in contact with the account managers once a month. We haven’t changed the team over the years because they’re proactive.

How did you come to work with Rademade?

I met the CEO of Rademade years ago when I asked him if an idea I had could be developed. The CEO answered that his company could develop everything, which I liked. After a few years, we started the project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $300,000 with Rademade.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in February 2011, and the collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their commitment to the website isn’t based on conversions. I don’t have figures but plan to work with Rademade for the next few years.

Today, our marketplace experienced more than 10,000 people per two hours, which caused some server issues. I called Rademade to help as soon as possible and within 20 minutes their team was helping me.

How did Rademade perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate via Asana and Telegram. Also, every Monday we hold a meeting when we plan tasks to be completed by Friday, which is when we regroup. Rademade doesn’t have a project manager but we have one on our side.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a proactive team that cares about results. When I ask them to complete one task, they brainstorm ideas and ask more questions. Rademade cares about what they do.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing they could improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a great vision of what you want and they will develop a great product.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am one of the founders, and CEO, of We Are Allies AB, a small start-up in Stockholm, Sweden. In the summer of 2019, we released Allies, a digital service for families to synch their kids schedules together, rather than on their own. For the user, Allies is an app and that app was, to a large extent, devloped by RadeMade in Kiev, Ukraine.

For what projects/services did your company hire Rademade?

We hired RadeMade to develop the application for our users.

What were your goals for this project?

Our main goal was to deliver a barebone service, but one that was prepared for further development as our user base started to grow.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We were introduced to RadeMade by a broker (of sorts), in Sweden.

Describe the project in detail.

We already had the business plan, communication plan, design and graphics pretty much nailed down when we first met the people of RadeMadein Kyiv, Ukraine. Once there, they gave is their input and quite a few details were changed, based on that. For the duration of the project, all our communications happened across Slack and Hangout, which was sufficient to complete the project. However, both us and they were very happy with having met in person before that.

I strongly suggest meeting for two days and getting a feel for one another. For almost 7 months we worked closely on developing first an iOS version of the app, and then an Android version. During that time, w few changes were made, of which one was quite major. We instigated it, and RadeMade adapted to the new situation.

What was the team composition?

The team consisted of me, my founding partner (CTO), a project manager, a developer, a Q&A resource and (initially) a graphics designer. During the course of the project, we replaced the Q&A resource and gradually phased out the graphics and design, as the project was coming together.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Both I and my founding partner recognize RadeMades everpresent will to deliver as one of the key parts of the success of this project. We were well aware that we were introducing something that was not completely easy to describe to neither the public or a seasoned development team, but they quickly assessed what we needed, and when they did not, they made sure they understood what we wanted. Given that most of our communication happened via screens and not in real life, that will to understand and perform sets RadeMade apart. Also, we're onboarding users all the time, as a result of that.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very. There was a stand-up, a brief overview of each day, at 9.45 every morning, which was sometimes brief, sometimes a bit longer. After that, most communications happened via Slack with the occasional call - planned or not - in between. In hindsight, we really appreciate the thorough debriefings of each sprint, though I must admit at the time, I sometimes thought they went on too long. But in hindsight - no. They were an excellent mean to make sure everybody were on board. In order to keep track of progress, we used Figma and Jira to track each sprint and what was in it, what needed to be done and what was accomplished. Fantastic!

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Rademade's will to perform and subsequently understand what we wanted from them impressed us. I NEVER doubted they understood what we were aiming for, rather the opposite. Never.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There are cultural differences between Sweden and Ukraine, obviously. As Sweden has a very open management culture - or at least we try to - we want everyone to have a say even if this takes time. The upside is you get everyone involved. It took a while for the guys in Ukraina to latch on to that, as developing in Eastern Europe tends to be thought of as a mail-a-list-of-things-to-do. This is completely wrong as there is a huge pool of experience there, one you should tap into. On the other hand, I think this is something that could be thought of earlier at the developing side of the table. Claim your spot at it!

I wanted a workable demo that had some live parts and visualized the other parts of the future program from a frontend perspective.

Rademade developed an MVP/demo for a B2B management reporting software. They designed the program, coded the frontend, and built two live backend modules.

What was the team composition?

I worked with one scrum master, one full-stack developer, one business analyst, a half-time frontend developer, and a half-time designer.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The demo is now live, and is being presented to potential future customers. I’ve received good feedback so far. 

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management as a whole was up and down. We struggled to figure out how to work together at first. However, Rademade was very good at incorporating feedback so they found an efficient way of driving the project forward.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The ability to incorporate feedback was most impressive. I also appreciated the level of competence of the various team members.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The team composition could be smaller as I could have served the business analyst role. I’ve also suggested that they add one-on-one meetings with the main developers to their process. That was the workaround that made the project move forward more quickly.

I am the head of new product development for an AI and bot platform company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Rademade?

Our main product is a platform that allows for building bots. We needed help with software development and QA.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They have developed additional content and have expanded the features of our product, using technology such as used technology such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Node.js. They have also done research and development. Since the product is intended to do any type of automation, any innovations of ours usually require a little bit of research to figure out the best way.

What is the team composition?

There are five people assigned to the project, but I have been in contact with about 15 people throughout the project.

How did you come to work with Rademade?

Our company needed a way to expand on the features our platform has, and we were looking for options. We looked them up locally. One of our offices is based in Kyiv and we wanted to have one of the partners nearby.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent around $150,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began the collaboration in 2018, and it is an ongoing engagement.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They have supported different messaging services such as Twitter, Telegram, and direct messages, thus providing value to our business. We were invited to a conference held by WhatsApp in Dubai, and because we had already been developing integration with this messenger, we acquired a number of clients there. It generated business for us. We are happy with their service and we plan on expanding the team.

How did Rademade perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Jira for project and task management. I am happy with their project management and the scrum methodology we’ve used. I only have positive feedback about their ability to adapt and respond to change. During integrations, we learn new information which changes the scope or changes how we do the integration itself, and they have been flexible with those changes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their flexibility, adaptability, and scope changes have been great for us. Not every partner is able to respond as well to those things.

No, nothing at the moment.

What challenge were you trying to address with Rademade?

We reached out to Rademade to help us improve some of our backend processes on our website, specifically involving product data uploading that would enable our designers to log in and add product information themselves.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rademade developed the backend of our Shopify website from scratch, using Ruby on Rails. They incorporated features that allow our designers to upload product information as needed easily. 

What is the team composition? 

We work with about five people on their team, including a lead developer, a scrum master, and a testing lead. 

How did you come to work with Rademade?

I researched a number of firms online and ultimately decided to work with Rademade based on the initial conversations I had with one of their customer account managers. I liked that they have a marketplace solution and understand our business. They wanted us to focus more on marketing our products than wasting time on tasks that should be automated.

We've invested between $10,000–$50,000 thus far.

What is the status of this engagement?

They started working on the platform around October 2018, and they continue to provide support: troubleshooting issues, adding new features, and incorporating feedback from users.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Rademade automated a lot of internal processes, streamlining our overall workflow. They quickly grasped our complex business requirements and delivered exactly what we needed. 

How did Rademade perform from a project management standpoint?

They have agile processes in place, so we talk to them daily and use Jira to track project tasks. They've been very organized and proactive overall. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're very relatable. I liked that they're always willing to get on the phone to go over things more in-depth, bringing more of a human element to the partnership.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It's not entirely their fault, but what I've learned from this process is that it would be helpful to have seen screenshots or other visuals of different features before going into development. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Keep all lines of communication open to ensure both teams are on the same page. There were times when I got too busy to oversee what Rademade's team was doing, so they were forced to make some quick decisions without me.

I’m the Product Director for a specialized legal tech firm with offices in two countries and a staff of 15 people.

We needed someone to develop a case management system, automated email, and a complaint database.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to move tedious, boring, and error-prone tasks to machines, which would help our employees have more fun. We also wanted a scalable platform so we could onboard more clients.

How did you select this vendor?

They were proposed to me as an option by a long-time friend of mine.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

We started with feature description and wireframing, and then went to development and design.

What was the team composition?

We worked with as few as five and as many as seven people, including one to two developers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We’re extremely happy with the choice we made. Rademade was a good partner from the start. They fixed critical bugs quickly and the project manager made sure to lower overhead costs.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was transparent and I could influence it very well from abroad via Jira or Confluence. We had a routine of two weeks sprints, sprint planning, sprint demo, and retrospective meetings. The scrum master on Rademade's side did an excellent job at keeping the discussion focused and postponing side-discussions for later. All our meetings were highly-productive.

Rademade provided all the womanpower necessary. They were flexible and scalable in the number of hours we needed with different skills at various points in the process. All team members were engaged and interested in producing a positive outcome. They also seemed to work very well with each other. They were very available for questions and always responded quickly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The flexibility and the enthusiasm of the team stood out to us. They take pride in their work, which makes them want to create the best possible solution under the constraints—this is a must when working remotely. The culture at Rademade is also really impressive. Learning is one of their core values, and it’s lived by everyone in their office.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

Some of their team members would benefit from foreign language classes so that less ideas needed to be reiterated in meetings. However, this was only a small issue.

I’m the CEO of a startup called Spitche. It’s essentially a B2B/B2C marketing platform that encourages organic communication between users to promote brand awareness. We target e-commerce services and startups in France but hope to expand our clientele internationally to the U.S.

What challenge were you trying to address with RadeMade?

When we initially conceived the platform, we worked with developers based in Colombia. However, they weren’t adequately experienced with our technological requirements, and the time differences hindered collaboration. As a result, we needed another development agency to build our platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we hired them to complete the half-finished platform by eliminating the bugs and then continuing development. Unfortunately, the first iteration had too many errors for them to create a functional build. Therefore, we decided to meet their development team in person before deciding to construct, design, and AB test a second iteration from scratch using Ruby on Rails.

The new platform allowed brands to link their Facebook pages to create marketing campaigns to promote new products and services. During the campaign, companies can recruit their followers to share content with their friends, creating a larger digital impact and increasing the brands’ recognition through organic connections. The platform mainly features cross-platform interaction with Facebook, metrics tracking capabilities, and a point system to reward companies with the highest user engagement. They’re currently working on a third version of the platform to refine and add new functionalities.

What is the team composition?

We worked with their entire team, which included the CEO, a team lead developer, a scrum master, a success manager, a UX/UI designer, a creative developer, and a full stack developer.

How did you come to work with RadeMade?

We decided to look for skilled developers in Eastern Europe. We posted on LinkedIn for a development team proficient in Rails, and they contacted us first. After conducting a few calls to discuss the project, we completed a few sprints with them and liked their work.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about €25,000 ($30,675 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

Work began in September 2017 and is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our platform has recently gone live, so we don’t have a lot of concrete metrics at the moment. However, from our tests, we’ve seen that when companies sent client lists to start a campaign, they typically recruited between 30–50% of their customers. As a result, our clients have increased their digital impact, including increased social media presence, higher sales, and greater content engagement.

In terms of the quality of RadeMade’s services, we appreciated that they contributed the substantial amount of knowledge they accumulated from past projects. They had a lot of ideas and provided insights on efficient ways to approach development. This gave us the confidence to rebuild the platform from scratch rather than fix the previous version.

How did RadeMade perform from a project management standpoint?

They proposed and met the established timelines, delivering the platform within our budget. We used Jira to organize our tasks and Skype to communicate. They consistently followed up with us on project assessments and testing, and we talked every day. In the morning, they would update us on their daily goals, so it was easy to coordinate with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated their proactivity and how rigorously they test their builds. They worked quickly to find and eliminate bugs. At times, they outpaced us in finding errors.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although they remained within the budget and time estimates, they may benefit from establishing more accurate quotes. However, I understand the difficulties of producing a concrete number before entering development, especially when we’ve changed certain aspects of the project.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Since working with them, I’ve recommended them to eight people. Customers must clearly understand what they want. Although RadeMade can develop a full minimum viable product (MVP), the customers must coordinate the sprints, establish a roadmap, and insist on AB testing to ensure efficiency and create a lean development process. They adapt well to this workflow.

Please describe your organization.

I started Heavytrack 17 years ago. We do GPS tracking, fleet management and telematics for the construction industry. In the very early days, my niche was the construction equipment field. It was a small company with 4-5 employees. One of my employees was a Programmer who built the backend for us, the server that does the monitoring and processes the data. What we offered is provided by the manufacturer on the machines when they’re built. My market dwindled. Now, it’s a one-man operation and has been for a few years now.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Rademade?

The business is small so I solely do everything. We have had customers all over the country, but over the last 3 or 4 years it’s dwindled because it’s an OEM world now. Our customers are primarily in South Texas now.

I couldn't afford to start from scratch, the enterprise system was built 15-17 years ago. Our old enterprise system was designed specifically for one manufacturer. I wanted to use a new telematics hardware device and change manufacturers. Their formatting is different.

There were other options out there. I could have used a service bureau that handles multiple manufacturers and pay them a fee. I wanted to keep it all in-house and for it to be proprietary. I put out a spec that I call the conduit system. It was an idea that I had that uses data from this new device and funnels it into a computing process that makes it look like my original device. It was a wild idea that I had and I didn’t know if it would work or not. I wasn’t able to provide a whole lot of technical assistance at all with it so I turned it over to Rademade.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they were able to do it. The first time I tested it, it worked. It was on a test system and then they migrated it over to our main server soon after that. It wasn’t a huge project and there weren’t many people working on the project. Rademade had one main person and another who was doing some interface with me for language purposes.

In the last two months, another device from the same manufacturer did not have the same format. I asked them to accommodate that second device and they had the same kind of results very quickly. Rademade also offered me something that they saw would be useful to me. They provided a way to have it on a server that they would manage. It has proved to be very solid and stable and their support with that has been good. I hadn’t considered that as a possible option when I first started working with them. It made sense to have a little redundancy here because of it. I think it proved to be a good solution.

How did you come to work with Rademade?

My programmer built the proprietary system. He left because we weren’t large enough to keep him busy. After that point, I needed contract work. I used an intermediary to find an appropriate contractor for our job. He connected me with a company in India first and I used them for many years. Most recently, he told me about and recommended Rademade. I didn’t go down the path of trying to analyze different companies so I agreed to use Rademade for the last project. We’ve had a couple additions and tweaks to that project since. I’m much happier than with the previous contractors that I had used.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them a couple years ago.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

There are several things I tested to make sure it worked. There were 4 or 5 functions that needed to be there in order for my customers to be happy with it. They were easy to test with the device in our office. We set it up in a vehicle and we drove it around to see if it was making it on the user’s website. The first time I tested all of the functions, it worked almost perfectly. We budgeted $10,000 for it, but it cost less than that. I was happy with everything about it. The price, how quickly they turned it around, and also the fact that it worked so well right off the bat.

What distinguishes Rademade from other providers?

They were exceptional. Even though the project wasn’t the same, the understanding and the expertise was much higher with Rademade than what I had received with the contractor from India. It was a foreign concept to them both, but Rademade grasped it much quicker and got to the bottom line faster. It was the same way when I hired a programmer to take the place of my original programmer. It was a long learning curve and was expensive to bring him on as an employee to get him to be productive. Each project is not comparing apples to apples, but the Rademade experience was so much better than when I hired an employee, as well as the previous contractor that I used.

Is there anything Rademade could have improved or done differently?

We’re in different time zones so sometimes it’s harder to get hooked up when everybody is working during work hours. They’re somewhere in Europe or Eastern Europe, but they were able to accommodate. I tried to accommodate also so that we could get our heads together in real time. That’s part of the negative of working with someone on a different continent, but that’s not something to pick on them specifically. It just happens to be where they are.

We offer cloud information services for private doctors and medical institutions. Our solution meets international standards for electronic medical document circulation. It includes an electronic health record, an electronic medical history, and an electronic registry.

I’m the CEO and co-founder of the company. I started it with my colleague, who is also a medical doctor and now the CTO of our company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Rademade?

We wanted to automate some of the routine work done by doctors. They needed to have 24-hour access to personal medical data and communicate with each patient. We wanted to create a solution that would help improve the quality of medical services. This way, doctors could keep their clients and attract new ones.

We discovered that most doctors in our country prefer to keep electronic medical records instead of paper forms. Before the system was built, we used Microsoft Docs and Google files. At that time, there was no medical information system on our local IT market. There was no way for doctors to communicate with patients in accordance with the requirements for personal data protection. While there were existing medical software and hardware systems, these solutions focused on hospital management only. They were also quite expensive.  

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Rademade built a minimum viable product – an electronic system for health and medical records. After we brainstormed together, specialists from Rademade created a detailed project analysis. They were responsible for implementing all of the steps — user experience and user interface design, HTML/CSS development, frontend and backend development, and quality assurance testing.

Our system is unique. It’s not only a website; it’s a big hospital information cloud system. It has the ability to synchronize data with related medical systems through API channels. It works on any device, regardless of the manufacturer or operating system. An Internet connection is the only requirement.

The system records and displays profiles for doctors, receptionists, and patients. It allows doctors to monitor health indicators. They have the option to create templates for medical records, appointments, and treatment. With our solution, doctors can participate in full-fledged medical and diagnostic processes online. It also has a calendar feature.

What is the team dynamic?

In total, 8 people from Rademade have worked with us on our project. We’ve worked mainly with the project manager and project lead. We've also had meetings where we communicated with everyone from the team.

How did you come to work with Rademade?

Some of our partners recommended them as reliable specialists in complex solutions development.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in February 2015, and the engagement is still ongoing. The MVP for this project was launched in February 2017. The testing has been completed in 4 hospitals. We continue to collaborate with Rademade for further development.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have already received feedback from doctors. They say that the service is convenient and easy to use. Since they save time on paperwork, they can pay more direct attention to patient care. Doctors appreciate the fact that they can access patient records anytime, anywhere, allowing them to provide medical services remotely. Patients and even colleagues can understand records more easily since they don’t need to deal with incomprehensible handwriting.

Doctors also said that the system enhances their professional credibility and leads to more positive recommendations in the community. On a larger scale, the system is accelerating the development and commercialization of IT solutions in the local healthcare sector.

Rademade has proven to be a reliable partner in creating a fairly complex and high-tech product. The team can deal with the most challenging tasks and requests. They quickly understand our requirements and questions.

How did Rademade perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate with the project lead in meetings. We also use JIRA and Google Docs. The team completes all the necessary work in a timely manner. As a result, we’ve stayed within our budget.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Rademade's unique qualities are creative thinking for project design and comprehensive support for innovative business projects. We are impressed by their attention to details and willingness to work with a complex project. Their customer support is great, which I think is very important. They are professional and responsive to customer requirements. I enjoy working with them. They do a great job.

We provide bespoke security services to various companies. I am the owner of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Rademade?

I wanted to develop custom software that could enable us to manage all of our company operations from a single, consolidated location. We wanted to keep track of scheduling, clients, resource availability, and so on. We tried different solutions, but none of them were any good, so we decided to make our own from scratch.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

Rademade developed our CRM. They used 3–4 resources for our project. There were a few agencies involved in the project, including a separate company responsible for the design work.

How did you come to work with Rademade?

We received a reference from a UK partner company of Rademade. Development in the UK can be extremely expensive, so we initially went to an intermediary that offered substantially cheaper services and an excellent level of quality.

How much have you invested with Rademade?

The total cost of Rademade's services has been around $100,000. Rademade issues breakdowns that tell us which developer worked on which tasks. We usually make payments one month in advance.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our collaboration with Rademade started in January 2016. We've worked on a time-and-materials basis with 2-week sprints. We also plan on using Rademade for updates and maintenance.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement? 

I was able to get a lot out of them for an extremely good cost, compared to what we would have paid here in London. Rademade never said no to any request and found solutions for our more problematic items. The timing was good and any changes that I asked for were done quickly.

How did Rademade perform from a project management standpoint?

Rademade was in charge of the whole project management and they performed well. Nothing in software development comes in exactly on time, but Rademade delivered within our expectations. I speak with them every other day, receiving updates on the work completed thus far. We use a variety of project management tools that Rademade signed me up on. We initially used Taiga, but we've switched to Jira over the last month. Design work was done using InVision, which allowed me to post comments on the changes I wanted. We primarily communicate with Rademade using Skype. 

What did you find most impressive about Rademade?

Rademade's team has a personal touch and I never hit any corporate brick walls. They're all quite young and talented. I got the impression that Rademade cared more about doing a good job than about the price.

Are there any areas Rademade could improve?

We've only worked on one project, but Rademade has performed very well. I can't think of any improvements.
