This project is a new online only concept for our existing brick and mortar retail business. We just don't have a full time on site technology team, so we hired IT Geeks to be that missing piece of our team. They have stepped in seamlessly, as if we have worked together for years. We looked at all the experts on the Shopify list and IT Geeks really stood out due to their multiple 5 star reviews, reasonable cost structure, quick response, and then they won us over with their professional attitude.

We needed an expert to help us get our new Shopify website up and running quickly and smoothly. We did not have the time or talent to do it all ourselves in the available timeframe. We were worried that the learning curve would be too steep. We did our research and found IT Geeks.

The scope of work that they could perform was perfect for us. We agreed on a plan of action and they did everything they promised and much more. They helped us choose a theme that worked best for our type of business, import the products, choose and implement additional software to solve some unusual business processes we needed, and then tested the whole system to ensure the best experience for our online customers.

I worked with an initial consultant in the very beginning to get the scope of work outlined, and then I was passed on to a project manager, Sam J, who was my contact for everything. Sam had a very competent team to back him up. It was all very seamless. I appreciate not having to work with several contacts at once.

Our website looks beautiful and verry professional. It gives our customers an easy and pleasant shopping experience.

The project manager was very easy to communicate with. We spoke daily through email and had regular meetings on Google Meet.

I was very impressed with their knowledge of how to get this website to work exactly like I needed it to. No wasted time hunting for solutions.

I really found this to be a perfect experience and would not ask them to improve on a thing.

Our website was previously hosted on Wordpress and it brought us numerous amount of unnecessary problems such as selling items that were not in stock, gift cards not working, analytics weren't reliable, and crashing at every launch.

It was also complex to use and we were losing customers due to having so many issues with simply purchasing items, which is essentially a vital part of an e-commerce platform. We wanted to move to Shopify to enhance our customer experience and fix all the unnecessary issues previously mentioned.

While we we’re at it, we decided to also update our website design to give it a new life as it had not been updated for over 5 years.

We did an extensive online search and contacted multiple vendors. Some vendors showed hesitancy over some of the features we wanted to implement on our new site so we decided to go with IT-Geeks based on their approach, experience and cost.

Our main scope was 3 things: Migrate the website from Wordpress to Shopify, implement the new website design that we had created and implement a few new features to the website such as a loyalty programme, Instagram feed, returns portal and bundles.

We only had one main point of contact which made it very convenient and easy for us. We were in contact with Mike who is currently the Senior Project Manager at IT-Geeks.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

There was no issues with migrating the website, everything went smoothly and as expected. When we re-launched the website, we had the biggest influx of visitors and sales we've ever had and the website was functioning properly without crashing.

All the deliverables we're met and we really appreciated how much the team had patience and flexibility with our never ending design notes as we realised a lot of new improvements on the way.

We mostly communicated with Mike via emails for any feedback that we had. We did also have a few Zoom meetings every once in a while to go through bigger, more complex improvements that we felt that needed more in depth discussion.

Emails we're always replied in a timely manner. Communication was great.

Their patience and flexibility with our design notes made this project much longer than it was initially meant to be. Our new website notes we're always met with ease which made the journey more enjoyable for us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Some design notes were initially missed and had to be brought up again. In the end all notes were resolved.

I had an initial consultation with a member of the team who listened to our needs and assigned an account manager. I had a Zoom meeting with the our account manager and we went over specific needs. From that point on I received frequent updates and mock ups so that I could see the way the site was progressing. I was involved in the process every step of the way and was kept well informed of the updates.

The website is now more attractive, flows better and is easier to navigate.

I was most impressed with the way Sam always kept me involved. I never felt that I didn't know what was going on.

There was a slight misunderstanding regarding the scope of work. However, our project manager, Sam was quick to resolve the issue in a manner that made us happy.

My team interviewed a few vendors and IT Geeks were very knowledgable, responsive, and fast in their turnaround time.

We had a kick-off meeting to discuss our objectives and scope with key deliverables. From there they developed wire frames. We did go thru a couple of iterations and then the final result was delivered.

They were extremely communicative - usually responded within an hour via emails and would also hop on adhoc phone calls as we were working with tight deadlines.

They were extremely professional, and they delivered everything on time. They also go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that our project was to our satisfaction.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Testing is something that can be improved but most of it was due to a tight deadline and does not really reflect on them necessarily for this project.

The site has only just been published but I m thrilled at how it looks and how much easier it is to navigate for my clients and customers.

I was really impressed at how they implemented metafields and build additional factors that may have not been on the original template.

I was quite happy to wait (although if I did wait it was not for long and for good reason). The end result was wonderful and I got very excited to see how my clients find it.

Our website had many third party apps running off our domain on Shopify. We had to redo our pop ups for our customers subscribing because we ended up not being able to amend it ourselves on any of the apps, we literally couldn’t find the source of the files. Our auto response emails were also not working and we had to recreate those too.

We searched Shopify Experts Market and found IT-Geeks there, and they seemed to have a good track record, reviews and a good amount of jobs done too.

The team communicated with me to fully understand our goals from the beginning. Any work they did they would send to me for a preview. They were really intuitive with the style and colour palette of our company and they pretty much nailed it from the beginning. They created a new pop up, fixed our linked buttons on the VIP page, and created new auto response welcome emails to our VIP subscribers along with auto emails to customers requesting them to confirm their email address, this has to be done on MailChimp and synced with shopify.

Customers haven’t registered any trouble with signing up to our VIP list. All our contacts are synchronised across all 3rd party apps with shopify. Our email campaigns are back to 100% efficiency.
