They are at the helm of everything from design to development. I told them what I wanted, including some specifications and functionality requirements. Once they had an idea of what I wanted, they took the lead on some items, including a helpline and some other useful suggestions. We have an iterative relationship and go back and forth until we arrive at a happy medium.

The app is for both iOS and Android and links to a few platforms for user logins, including Google and Facebook. It will start as a dating app, but its functions are fairly universal and could easily expand into other fields in the future.

What is the team composition?

I communicate with a project manager and one or two other team members. I’m not sure how many people they have working on their side, but I’m in direct contact with those two or three individuals.

How did you come to work with Inventive Byte?

I found them on Bumble Bizz. They were friendly and involved, and I felt comfortable talking with them. They made the process very easy, so I decided to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent between $25,000–$50,000 on this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

I initially contacted them in December 2018, and they’re still working with me on this project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s not up and running yet, but everything looks good so far. They bring my ideas to fruition, and they have a methodical approach to realize my vision. They work very hard and put a lot of effort into a lively design. They send samples to make sure everything is right, and they work very quickly. They’ve certainly cemented my faith in them.

How did Inventive Byte perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re on top of everything; I was surprised by how quick they responded to all my questions or comments. Their turnaround time is very fast, and they keep good documentation of all our interactions. Most of our communication is through emails, texts, or phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a positive outlook and are very encouraging. Their respect and politeness shine through, and they’re very professional. They tackle every situation and go above and beyond what most companies would agree to do. Their vibe is very positive, and I like working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything negative that stands out.

I needed an experienced design firm to build out my platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, I spoke with a sales representative and Ankit (CEO, Inventive Byte) via conference call. We talked through my idea for the app and how things would work logistically. They gave me quotes, walked me through how development works, and outlined their role as a third-party resource. That consultation helped me get the project moving.

Once we agreed on a scope of work, I met with the development team assigned to the project. We set up lines of communication and outlined milestones. The app is still within the development process, but the final product will function as a mobile travel agent. Users will be able to book complete travel itineraries through the platform. We plan to release versions of the app for both iOS and Android.

What is the team composition?

While I initially communicated with their sales representative, Ankit is my primary point of contact. Beyond that, I interact with several developers assigned to my account.

How did you come to work with Inventive Byte?

One of their representatives reached out to me through Bumble Bizz. They were forthcoming about their goal to help young entrepreneurs like myself break into the tech industry. They’re also a small company, so I felt comfortable explaining my ideas and asking the right questions.

We started working together in December 2018, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They’re still in the early stages of development, but I’m highly satisfied with the updates they’ve delivered thus far. Even the initial sketches and wireframes are outstanding.

How did Inventive Byte perform from a project management standpoint?

Ankit is willing to talk about complex ideas while also providing confidentiality. He acts as in advisor of sorts and wants to help me grow my business. I have conference calls with them through WebEx several times a week. We both use Zoho Projects to keep track of ongoing and completed tasks. Documenting our progress allows us to recall essential materials during meetings easily. Overall, their entire team is punctual, organized, and responsive. Ankit usually gets back to me with viable solutions within 1–3 days.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a team of qualified individuals that help customers get projects off the ground. They provide a high level of expertise for an excellent price.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. There’s nothing I can think of at the moment.

Ask a lot of questions, and don’t be afraid to take the leap. Give Inventive Byte the chance to help you succeed.

I hired Inventive Byte to help build an app that will reward people for taking care of themselves, something that is needed in a world that doesn't recognize the importance of self-care. They are building the MVP and helping me with other aspects of growing my business.

What were your goals for this project?

My goal is the build Mind Star into the first chapter of a movement focused on the most crucial factor in any sort of positive change—the mind.

How did you select this vendor?

They found me on social media. The fact that Ankit (CEO, Inventive Byte) took the time to call me on a Sunday was enough to win me over.

Describe the project in detail.

So far, we are in the software requirements specification stage of the MVP. We’re making decisions on Mind Star’s logos, the landing page, self-care tracker, and overall look and feel. We are also in the crowdsourcing stage of the app development, so we’re putting together proposals and pitch decks for investors and sponsored businesses.

The app will track all forms of self-care, allowing users to build a unique and personal self-care routine that works for them. They can see their progress over time in a way that's fun and engaging. Users get rewards for practicing self-care through business-sponsored incentives. The app allows users to connect with others based solely on health issues, developing a lifeline of support that's genuine and real. They can also connect with a mental health professional when needed.

What was the team composition?

Right now, it's just me and friends who have agreed in to help. I have put together a voluntary board of mental health professionals—six so far—who offer insights into the app as it's being developed. They also help with connections and spreading awareness about Mind Star.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are currently in the early stages of building the app, so I don't have any outcomes to report yet. They have just been collecting information from me about what I want. I am excited to see where this relationship leads.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

So far, everything is going fairly well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Ankit is patient and professional. His assurance is incredibly valuable and made me realize the limiting beliefs I had about myself and my abilities. I’m impressed with the fact that I have their CEO's phone number and his attention on my project when I know he has many others. It shows his character and dedication to the company and assures me that I am not just some project they are cranking out. They are invested in my dream, and that means the world.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I would like more notice on phone calls. For example, I received an email for a phone call at around 6 AM for an 11:30 AM call, but I checked my email around noon and missed the phone call completely. A little bit more notice would be helpful.

I'm the founder and CEO of 4fame, a music gaming app that allows people to judge music based on a 40-second clip of audio with no visual representation. Music is an auditory experience, but with the rise of video, it seems that music is becoming more visual than auditory.

4fame allows fans to discover good music based on sound. The gaming aspect of the app gives fans and artists the ability to raise their status based on choosing or making good music and getting approval from their peers.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals are to obtain a fully-functional app that's user-friendly and provides a positive experience for fans and music artists. We hope it turns out visually attractive and be addictive for users.

We found them on Google. We were looking at three other mobile app development companies, but they didn't seem to understand our vision. I ultimately made the decision to use Inventive Byte.

Describe the project in detail.

The project required a design and development team. We currently have established a design and determined how we would like the app to work. We have calls twice a week in which we provide our layout ideas and then discuss how we would like things to operate.

Inventive Byte is responsible for bringing our vision to reality. We've given them every detail as far as design and functionality goes. The app is being developed for both iOS and Android devices.

What was the team composition?

The team seems to change every few phone calls, but everyone we have dealt with has been great. The only issue is that some people don't seem to be familiar with the project, so we have to go over everything again.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Though the app isn't complete yet, we have some designs and wireframes ready. Everything seems to be going as planned thus far.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow has been good. Sometimes, we don't receive things when they say they are going to send them, or they send us stuff right before our conference calls, so we really don't have time to review the material before the call. It's not a big issue, because we just postpone the discussion until the next call. Regardless, they're very receptive to our feedback and have never been unprofessional with our project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I really like that they're organized and that there's always somebody that we can reach at anytime if we have an issue. I've worked with other teams that were just interested in making a quick dollar off of my project instead of giving the best that they have. I feel that Inventive Byte really wants to give me the best app they possibly can.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Everything has been good, though we would like to get an email or notification that somebody new is going to be working on our project. Sometimes, during our video conference calls, a random name will pop up on the screen and we have no idea who it is and why are they there, and end up wondering what happened to the last guy.

I don’t have a technical background, so I had to rely on outsourcing to bring my vision to life.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The development process was straightforward; I gave them my design requirements, and they built the .NET website to my specifications. Two unique user paths allow members to either list or view a property. Inventive Byte also integrated an online payment processor and a messaging feature. As they approach the final stages of development, they will also provide digital marketing services to promote the site.

I interact with their CEO for business development purposes, but I mostly work with the assigned project manager.

How did you come to work with Inventive Byte?

After connecting with their founder at a networking event, he reached out to me with a proposal to transform my concept into a functioning platform. I researched other web developers, but Inventive Byte’s prices were the most affordable on the market.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent approximately $32,000 for their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project commenced in September 2017 and is scheduled to conclude in the first few weeks November 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve administered a few tests in preparation of the official launch, and the site is performing well regarding speed and functionality. Like others who have viewed the site, I’m extremely impressed by Inventive Byte’s results.

How did Inventive Byte perform from a project management standpoint?

The timezone difference caused a few issues in the beginning, but we were eventually able to align our schedules and work in harmony. Their team was very responsive to our needs and equally swift with resolving bugs. We only used traditional methods of communication like phone, email, and occasional in-office meetings, but they recently adopted project management software to their clients informed of their progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was nervous about working with a remote partner, but their CEO’s active involvement quickly dispelled my concerns. Their entire team has proven to be a valuable asset because they view my success as their own achievement.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As one of their first clients, we worked with them through several staff changes. Our communication issues could have been avoided with a consistent project manager.

Inventive Byte delivers excellent work for an incredible price, but it’s easy for their fees to accumulate from poor planning. Have a clearly defined scope of work to avoid additional charges.

I am the founder of a small cryptocurrency analytics platform that is soon to launch its MVP.

For what projects/services did your company hire Inventive Byte, and what were your goals?

We hired Inventive Byte to help build our MVP product (analytics platform). Their job was to build a high-quality, polished MVP that is ready for launch. This included UI/UX design, front-end development (optimized for both desktop and mobile), backend development, and setting up the infrastructure (i.e. AWS).

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I met the CEO, Ankit, on Bumble Bizz. We talked for a while and he understood quickly what I was looking to accomplish. He was somewhat familiar with the area of interest and I liked his past experience. In addition to this, most of the online reviews seemed to be favorable.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Ankit, the CEO of Inventive Byte, was able to talk with me in great depth about my project and shared some of his past experiences in the startup space. His team was to develop a high-quality, polished platform that represented our MVP. The technologies they chose to use were React for the front-end while the backend was done in Flask.

In addition to this, the site was to be hosted on AWS. Code was shared/managed through Bitbucket and design files through Figma. The project was broken down into 7 sprints, each with its own goals. This process was to take 6 weeks total as stated in the Statement of Work.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

My primary source of contact was Inventive Byte CEO, Ankit. As far as I know, there were 2 developers and a UI/UX designer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Initially, like a few of the other reviews, things started off great. We talked often and texted every other day or so. An initial payment of $10,000 was made for the first month of development. After a few weeks, Ankit reached out and stated that multiple things in the contract will take too long and as a result, I must remove some features to meet the timeline.

While this was a surprise, I hesitantly agreed as I had already paid for a full month's work. As time went on, communication began to slow but I was reassured multiple times that everything was ok and on track. As the launch was a few weeks away, I was excited by the progress. The week before launch, Ankit and I had a call scheduled. During this call, he shocked me by telling me that development was halfway done and that they need more time.

His reasoning was that there were still too many features and the contract only stated it was a "tentative length". There were no previous talks about this as it states multiple times that this will be a 6-week process. I was fairly shocked that this came out of the blue as he told me everything was going well. After a heated discussion, we agreed to the terms that it would only take another week and roughly $2,500 more ($7,500 as opposed to $5,000).

As I had already paid for the previous month, I had no choice but to continue. This was put behind us and we continued working on the project. Fast forward to the *new* launch day, I was told the site was live. Upon visiting, it was clear the site was NOT ready to go live and they had done absolutely 0 testing and bug-fixing. Ankit told me this was part of the process and the final state of the sprint. I was told this would NOT cost extra unless there were major functionality changes.

For some reason, Ankit told me he usually does Q&A himself but trusted me to do it for him. I did not mind and spent ~50 hours testing every page of the site for bugs and errors as well as recording them in a Google Doc. This Google Doc exceeded 30 pages. Yes, 30 pages. After taking 3 hours to go through them with me, Ankit sent an email saying he will review the work needed to be done and get back to me with an estimate. Upon challenging him about this, he told me that "The functionality is there" as well as "are you expecting us to work for free?" This was the final straw. 

In addition to the timeline being delayed twice, the vast majority of the code delivered was broken or unusable (audited by 2-3 3rd parties), I lost 2+ months from my timeline, and am out $17,500. As a developer himself, I am baffled as to how Ankit can deliver a product like this and say it is fully functional and high-quality. I reached out to 2 other reviewers who also had a poor experience with Inventive Byte. There were a vast number of similarities between our issues. Inventive Byte did not demonstrate the ability to fully meet expectations

Based on this experience, I concluded that Inventive Byte did NOT demonstrate the ability to meet timelines, write fully functional code that has been tested, or have reasonable pricing estimates. I have been working for the past 2 months to finish this project and as a result, am out even more money.

Other than using Bitbucket and talking with the CEO, Ankit, I am not sure what Ankit used to direct the developers. I was not involved in the communication with the developers for some reason. There is no doubt that Ankit is an extremely smart person as his background and quick understanding show that. However, in terms of timeliness, few things were delivered on time and the vast majority of the work that was delivered on time was broken and unusable.

The fact they were able to work fully remote.
