I'm the managing director of Coral Digital Limited, a small consultancy company based in the UK. In the past, we were a full service agency. Now, we specialize in project management and consulting for branding, marketing, and digital projects. I have a background of nearly 30 years in the digital online world.

What challenge were you trying to address with Interactivated Solutions?

We often white-label our services and provide those to other agencies. For this project, we were contracted by another agency to service a very large retailer in South-East England that had 30 different branches. Due to the size of the project, we knew that we would need a high-level partner to work with us on it because it was above everything we had done in the past.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Interactivated Solutions helped us develop an e-commerce platform on Magento 2, the chosen platform for this digital project. This was a very customized piece of work, so we had to create plug-ins and APIs to interact with a POS software system.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 5–6 different teammates from Interactivated Solutions on this project, including Svetlana (Project Manager), with whom we had multiple video calls per day. Each team member brought a different level of skill, and Svetlana knitted everything together.

Svetlana handled the resources on their team and assigned those teammates to different parts of the project. The team included resources in charge of scoping and planning, developers, and QA testers. Additionally, we worked with a QA lead who oversaw everything related to the development work and was in charge of the planning. He worked with a couple of major developers and designed the routes the development process would take.

How did you come to work with Interactivated Solutions?

We found them on Upwork. When this project arose, we did our research and interviewed several different companies. Interactivated Solutions was the first company to contact us. They were very on the ball and very professional. In fact, I thought that they were too big and professional for us.

Their team demonstrated Magento 2 expertise and high reference levels during the preliminary interview meetings. They interviewed very well and were very professional, slick in how they presented their work, and helpful, allowing us to understand sprint-based and agile working.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent between $150,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2023, and the platform was launched around early January 2024.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I was very happy with the work Interactivated Solutions delivered. This was very specialized work; there aren't many projects like this one that come through. Due to our extensive collaboration, I actually connected with Roy (Founder) on a personal level, and I still have an ongoing relationship with him.

How did Interactivated Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Interactivated Solutions helped us adapt to their way of working using sprint-based agile processes. It was a very robust and thorough process. Nonetheless, the team was very agile in the development of this platform. The end customer was very high maintenance, as he was a man who was used to having his own way on everything. Still, Interactivated Solutions was very good at managing the relationship.

For example, the customer raised issues multiple times, only to find out that those issues were always on their end and with their internal suppliers. Still, Interactivated Solutions never got upset or threatened to walk away despite the customer being rude and aggressive at times. Overall, this was a tough project, but Interactivated Solutions excelled.

The team was always available, no matter if it was morning, noon, or night, in different time zones, or on weekends. They were always there engaging directly with the customer, as I ensured that there was transparency about who I was working with. In addition to video calls, we used Slack as a communication channel. Additionally, they used Jira to record communication and track tasks. Every task was linked to a Jira card. Overall, the level of detail was very good.

As for budget management, our budget was constantly flexible, given that this was an agile development process; there was no fixed fee. We did have an outlined cost based on what we knew, but as what we knew changed, we had to reestablish the cost estimations. We had very live agile budget sheets detailing the outlined budget. As new pieces came in, they were added to the actual process.

Svetlana was an absolutely stunning and nice person to have on our team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm very glad that we chose Interactivated Solutions as our partner for this project because their level of expertise was very helpful in guiding what became an incredibly complicated project.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was nothing Interactivated Solutions could have improved on. Although they were from Ukraine and Poland, their level of English was generally very good. We had one developer whose English wasn't the best. I told them that we needed to be cautious with our communication, so when asked questions, he was thinking about how to answer them. The end customer was impatient with this, but there was no disrespect from the developer.

Overall, developers are not known for their communication skills; they're known for what they do. Overall, Interactivated Solutions' developers were great. Whenever we thought there would be a communication problem, we had another very good English-speaking teammate in the room to field the questions.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Be honest with yourself about what's deliverable and what your reference points are. Spend plenty of time understanding the scope and making sure that everyone has asked all the right questions in advance. We didn't ask the right questions beforehand, and Interactivated Solutions didn't know what questions we were missing. Still, if I had to change anything about this project, it would have nothing to do with Interactivated Solutions.

Another advice is to ensure you really like and trust the customer for whom you will work on the project. Do a project for the right reasons and not because it's a glory project.

Our goal was to find a reliable software development partner who could go beyond just bringing our concepts and ideas to life. We were in search of a team with internal business intelligence to validate the feasibility of each concept and execute the smartest MVPs for our diverse projects. After extensive online research and comparisons, we found our ideal partner in Interactivated Solutions.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Interactivated Solutions has helped us design our platform and its backend architecture. Their expertise helped us with conducting a comprehensive business analysis, which identified the appropriate technologies to utilize in the project, ie. .Net and Razor, to ensure the delivery of an outstanding product. Before this project started, I had written high-level documents regarding our target market and what our services looked like. After that process, they came up with more detailed design documentation.

Furthermore, Interactivated Solutions is gearing up for the development of several substantial blockchain-based projects for us, some of which are centered around the exciting world of NFTs. Over the years, our partnership with Interactivated has blossomed into a long-term alliance that spans multiple enterprise projects. These include a significant content creator hub that empowers creators to manage their content and earnings efficiently, seamlessly connecting them with major streaming platforms. This endeavor, valued at over $1 million, extends over several years and utilizes a sophisticated technology stack featuring Python, .Net, React, and Next.js, all hosted on the robust AWS Cloud architecture.

Another critical consideration in running a fintech startup for us is working very closely with regulators who look at the strength of our pricing infrastructure and supporting processes. Interactivated Solutions has proven to create a significant foundation for us to move on to those regulatory discussions, and further our business on its path to success.

How did Interactivated Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve used Slack to manage our communications and keep everything structured. Although we’ve had cost overages and delays, those situations are expected for a huge project on which we’ve spent millions of dollars. A great thing about Interactivated Solutions’ project management is that we’ve always had a good understanding of when these overages are coming and why they’re coming, which allows us to make decisions moving forward.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Leadership is incredibly important in these projects, and Interactivated Solutions’ CEO is incredible. He was great, especially initially, when I was trying to push the project forward very fast. He excelled at pushing back and advocating for his team in a responsive way when I was asking for things to be done a little too quickly. The way he has managed our interactions has been critical for the success of the engagement.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Our collaboration with Interactivated has been nothing short of exceptional. They have not only brought our concepts to life but have also played a pivotal role in validating and refining our ideas. As a result, we've successfully secured more VC funding and undertaken larger developments with well-validated proof-of-concept versions, meticulously crafted UI/UX designs, and frequent presentations to VC firms and board members.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s really nothing Interactivated Solutions could improve on. There are some technologies they don’t have the skills in. For example, we discussed working on a new language. Still, they came back and told us that, in a heavily regulated environment, it wasn’t a good idea to go with a completely new language. It was better to go with a more tried and tested technology. Even when they can do something, they won’t just do it unless they truly believe it is the best for our success.

There are a lot of organizations that will try to start your project as quickly as possible. Listen to Interactivated Solutions’ advice because spending money on business analysis to assess your business processes and data models might be appropriate. That way, you’ll have the strongest foundation moving forward.

• Recently, I wanted to save money on hosting. Interactivated advised Hetzner shared hosting and figured out exactly what package would be suitable. Besides reducing my monthly hosting costs by 60% ($150 each month), Hetzner turns out to be a great and safe hosting with amazing customer service. The migration from the old hosting into the new one was thoroughly planned and went perfectly. My stores didn't suffer from any bugs afterward and we hardly had any downtime during migration.

We reviewed our internal processes with Interactivated Solutions to adapt them to a new system, which is common in implementation and integration projects.

After the discovery phase, Interactivated Solutions has developed custom features on top of a Shopify template to meet our project’s requirements. They also provide us consultancy on Shopify since it’s a new software for us. Interactivated Solutions keeps us informed about Shopify’s updates and features, and they’ll continue to provide tech support, maintenance and develop new features throughout the years to come.

Our communication with Interactivated Solutions is excellent. They’re very proactive and speak to me in my native language, which I appreciate. I always get quick answers from Interactivated Solutions through Slack and email. We use Jira for project management, and I’ve also added them to our internal dashboard in ClickUp.

I recommend going in with open cards. Lay down your project’s requirements to Interactivated Solutions, and they’ll find a solution. I’ve asked them for some unusual requirements, and they’ve always found a solution — no problem is too big or small for Interactivated Solutions.

Interactivated Solutions has helped us allocate the correct resources, defined the project’s budget, built the site’s infrastructure, safely migrated data from the previous site, and set up the hosting. Interactivated Solutions doesn’t offer us hosting services, but they’ve helped us find a hosting provider and guided us through this process with their recommendations and expertise. 

Interactivated Solutions has used Adobe Commerce (formerly known as Magento) to develop our e-commerce platform. They’ve also helped us with the required software integrations to synchronize the company’s accounting with the platform.

Previously, our Google PageSpeed was around 40%–50%, and Interactivated Solutions has increased it to 70%–90% on most pages. Our click-through rate has also improved. 

I attribute part of the company’s growth to Interactivated Solutions’ work, they’ve helped us double our revenue. 

How did Interactivated Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Interactivated Solutions meets deadlines and stays on budget. They’re transparent and accurate about budgeting, estimating the work hours needed for our requirements, and then giving us a minimum and maximum estimated budget. In the end, the price always falls in that initial range.

Our communication is smooth through Slack. Interactivated Solutions is very organized. We use Jira for project management and Google Sheets to collaborate.

I’m most impressed with Interactivated Solutions’ expertise and reliability. I’ve worked with independent developers before, but working with a large and reputable company is a different experience. Interactivated Solutions has high standards, and working with them has been very pleasant.

We connect men seeking therapy with mental health professionals on our site. Additionally, we’ve been able to provide sponsorships, money, and free therapy for men who are seeking therapy but are unable to pay for it.

We needed help with web design and development for our platform. We had been working with a person for this purpose for a number of years. Unfortunately, they fell ill, which was heartbreaking for us. Thus, we decided to do our own research to find someone to help us continue our mission.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Interactivated Solutions provides us with custom web development and design services. Initially, I provided them with the documentation my former developer was working on. Since then, they’ve helped us enhance our platform based on what we already had.

Currently, Interactivated Solutions is working on a redesign project for our platform. Their main goal is to make it more user-friendly and improve its navigation. Some of the changes they’re making include relocating where the blogs and the key call-to-action buttons are.

Our clients are able to go on our website and look for a therapist by state — that’s one of our platform’s major features. Another core feature is the sponsorship we offer to prospective clients who are unable to pay for therapy.

I’m consistently in touch with around five people from Interactivated Solutions, including two project managers and some developers.

When we started looking for a service provider, it took us weeks of research to find Interactivated Solutions. Before finding them, I went to Upwork and wrote a job proposal, to which they responded. When we met with Interactivated Solutions’ owner, I really felt that we would be aligned in this mission. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

One of our main results has been the increase in our members. As a membership-driven organization, the more therapists and coaches join our platform, the better for us. Since working with Interactivated Solutions, over 300 therapists have joined. In addition to that, the feedback on our site has been really good so far.

How did Interactivated Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

I would give Interactivated Solutions perfect scores for project management. They’re extremely organized and very responsive. We’ve had very few issues with the site. Still, they’ve been able to resolve them quickly.

We would have completed the redesign project already if it wasn’t for us; it has been very hard on our side to get back to Interactivated Solutions in a timely manner. We communicate via Slack and email, and we have Zoom meetings whenever we need to discuss something in particular.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Interactivated Solutions is very responsive, and they care about our project as much as we do — it’s almost as if it were their own site. Their team always uses their expertise to find improvements for our site.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Our only challenge in working with Interactivated Solutions is our time difference — they’re six hours behind. However, this situation isn’t unmanageable.

If you work with Interactivated Solutions, you’ll be in great hands. They’re very caring and attentive and will do their best to deliver.
