What challenge were you trying to address with Intellegens?

We hired Intellegens to develop software for us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Intellegens provides a range of back- and frontend development services using React and a .NET framework. They’re developing a mobile and desktop platform that uses AI, Microsoft Cognitive Services, and various music service integrations to provide users with therapeutic services. We’ve provided Intellegens with wireframes and the UX/UI we developed in-house. Everything we’ve provided, including user stories, has been broken down using agile methodologies.

We work with Mario (CTO), a technical director, and a frontend developer. 

How did you come to work with Intellegens?

Intellegens was recommended by a firm I trusted that had worked with them before. I interviewed Intellegens, provided a description of the product, and reviewed their portfolio. After that, I hired them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $10,000 with Intellegens. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement with Intellegens began in September 2021, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

So far, we only have a desktop version completed, and once the mobile app is complete, we’ll make everything available on our website. We’re happy with Intellegens’ deliverables. They’ve met our user acceptance testing requirements, and the app is almost bug-free. 

How did Intellegens perform from a project management standpoint?

Intellegens has excellent project management — they always deliver on time. We use Jira to manage the project and communicate via Zoom and Microsoft Teams. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Intellegens quickly provides high-quality deliverables. Their team is friendly and helpful. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing for Intellegens to improve. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I’d advise customers to have their requirements, budget, and timeframes clearly documented before beginning a partnership with Intellegens. It’s also important to establish that Intellegens is providing the right team for the job at hand.

I’m the managing director of Aircash. We’re based in Croatia, and we provide payment solutions. The company is a financial institution regulated under EU jurisdiction. We have a technology platform for managing payment transactions, authentication, and compliance.

What challenge were you trying to address with Intellegens?

We got in touch with them three years ago, while we were in the initial phases of launching the platform, to do the backend of the payment infrastructure.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Intellegens developed our platform using C#, .NET, and Angular, in a smaller part. There were also some parts using JavaScript. Their main contribution was on the backend. There may have been some UX contribution on the administration side of the platform.

There were a lot of services involved in this project. It was a complex payment infrastructure, with databases for defining and tracking transactions. It was the backbone of the payment infrastructure, and it needed to be developed according to some regulations and compliances regarding access, two-factor authentication, and the security infrastructure.

What is the team composition?

There were 3–4 dedicated people involved in our project. We worked with a project manager in the beginning, and had direct communication with the developers later on in the project, under the monitoring of project managers from both sides.

How did you come to work with Intellegens?

We worked with them on one other project before that, where we first got to know each other. They had references from our market and others, and their reputation was good. They made a competitive offer, and we decided to start working with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested $10,000 – $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with Intellegens between 2015 and 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Intellegens was quick enough, and they fulfilled what we agreed upon. I wouldn’t be giving them this review if we weren’t fully satisfied.

How did Intellegens perform from a project management standpoint?

They did everything we agreed to and signed. We used Trello for project management, and Microsoft Visual Studio, which has its own project management tools and was used to track the internal progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re serious, quick, reactive, and flexible.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Everyone can improve, and they’re also progressing, but they delivered everything on time.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should create functional specifications before hiring them, and ensure that everything defined in those will be delivered within a defined timeline.

My company is IT technology company providing software solutions and IT consulting services as well as educational services.

For what projects/services did your company hire Intellegens?

Although our company builds own software solutions, at the time we hired Intellegens we didn't have enough resources to successfully deliver the project we planned.

Therefore we hired external company (Intellegens) giving them full specs for the solution we wanted to build, expecting to make it with the same professional and quality level like we would do.

During the process we discussed a lot about many technical details. Intellegens expressed excellent level of understanding what we want to achieve and was a great partner in polishing the features we imagined.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to build personal finance management solution which is easy to use and focuses more on the future financial situation, less on analyzing the past income/cost structure.

We didn't want to build yet another budgeting tool, but more to provide an insight of the financial situation 1-5 years from now. The idea was to make a tool which will be used for financial planning, similar to business planning used by most of the companies today, but for personal usage.

Intellegens was recommended by our partners from IT community in Croatia.

Intellegens provided software development services using MS technologies. They also contributed in building the final version of the specifications and providing support services for the first period after the rollout.

Project manager + 2 software developers.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

No, we didn't make any significant business results, but the solution was valuable for us because we managed to build small customer base and from their feedback learned about advanced features we will have to make in order to make it more usable.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project was delivered as expected, in time and within the budget. We used e-mail communication for collaboration and GitHub for source management.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Good understanding of requirements, excellent communication skills and friendly cooperation in general. Good response in problem situations.

I worked in the digital department to improve content at a publishing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Intellegens?

We first engaged Intellegens to produce a content optimization extension for Google Chrome and provide us with ongoing support. The tool assesses content and gives feedback.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built an internal extension that's similar to a custom Grammarly extension. The tool assesses content and gives feedback so that the user can make relevant adjustments.

The frontend is built with Angular for the client interface, and there’s a .NET component on the server-side. My former company is going to continue investing in tools with Intellegens because they’re pleased with the help.

What is the team composition?

I primarily had one point of contact, but I had the opportunity to speak with other team members if situations dictated it.

How did you come to work with Intellegens?

I believe I found them in a Google search. They had a conversation with me about the needs of the extension, and then they provided proof of concept. Their work kept improving, so we kept them on the project.

We have invested $5,000–$10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The work was still ongoing when I left the company, and it started in 2013.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The extension they built had a material effect on improving performance in our tracked metric. This metric is measured by seeing how well content is consumed by audiences and how visible the content is to them.

How did Intellegens perform from a project management standpoint?

When we began working with them, they were new to doing remote work. There were some communication issues initially because of time zones, but they quickly resolved them and, ultimately, were very responsive.

We communicated with Slack, email, telephone calls, and videoconferencing calls. We used Jira to document the stories for the project and monitor burn. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They aren’t shy about offering potential solutions. If you’re a stakeholder in the business because you think you know what you want, then their advice is very helpful for breaking the bubble.

It was great to get their feedback on why what I was asking for wouldn’t work best for our needs, and then to see the alteratives that they presented us with. They thought through issues with system-thinking.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, and I plan on working with them on future projects.

Document what you want to achieve. Discuss your plans with them openly, and be ready to adjust them based upon their knowledgable feedback.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

This project has largely been driven by one global mining company over the last several years. The project has been repeatedly extended to provide expanded and improved capabilities.

Its use is now integral to their planning cycle and has had a major impact on their operations resulting in the savings of hundreds of millions in both cost and material movement.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

MineSmith's project manager works closely with the Intelligens developer with semi-daily meetings and updates in a cycle of ongoing development and testing. the arrangement has worked well. Meetings are by Skype. Project managment is via Trello and Github.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We're impressed by their high level of responsiveness combined with their expertise and relatively low cost.

The company is growing and needs to have multiple developers engaged on major and ongoing projects to ensure project continuity.
