To develop a website based on our unique design, tailored to our business, and including custom applications. These were a payroll and holiday entitlement calculator, and a video-based slider. We needed spectacular yet usable interfaces.

We needed to present a wide range of products and services to our users in an effective way. Integral Vision helped us to structure and display that content and are currently working in the support phase. The team responds quickly to any further development requests we make of them.

Sometimes, the developers’ interpretation of the design was somewhat different than what the designer had envisioned.

Érd Media Center is a regional media service provider with a television and radio station and an online platform. I am the CEO and chief editor of the institution.

When I came to the company in 2014, the online platform was in its initial stage. We wanted a media renewal. The first step was to get the online platform redesigned. The key features of the project included article listings, integration of social feeds and the development of an easy-to-use editorial system.

Due to the low traffic of the old website, we thought it was time to implement a new design and ergonomic solutions. We needed a social platform. Our aim was to create a site that could be a primary source of information for local people.

How did you select this vendor?

I asked an online marketing specialist to create the usability/design concept, then put the project out to tender. We were looking for a Drupal vendor since we wanted to go for an open-source solution for our social platform. Integral Vision submitted a reasonable proposal and impressed us at our first meeting.

We hired Integral Vision to develop our new social platform, but we also wanted to work with a team that we could consult with about design. They built the new site in Drupal, developing a logic model for dynamic home page along with rich content solutions, a mobile version, and social media integration.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

It was worth investing in this project. We started to use a mobile version, which was a huge milestone for us, and we received a user-friendly administrative platform. Based on our statistics, we managed to reach more people from our target audience and definitely earned more traffic. Our articles also became more popular than before.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The project was in good hands. The agile method they used was truly impressive (e.g., working phases defined by sprints and a story point system). Every other week, we had a demo meeting, which made the cooperation transparent. The task management system was also clear and transparent, which increased the trust factor.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Our demos were never one of those business meetings where people would try to put their own values ahead and persuade members of the other team. Instead, we had real discussions about the users.

Are there any areas for improvement?

When a request was not well-defined enough, the work they carried out was a bit different from what we’d expected. They could have handled these situations more carefully.

I'm the owner and the CEO of the Vanilin Confectionery. Besides organizing the stuff and the business, I work in designing new products and services.

We sent our RFP to a few companies. There were a few cheaper offers, but we wanted a reliable partner for the long run. The account manager and the tech lead from Integral Vision had a convincing attitude. They presented a very clear vision about how they would build the whole integrated system. It was inevitable that we would work with them.

The website offers a catalog of our products and a full online shopping experience. Inside our confectioneries, we have kiosks installed with a special view of the website. Our customers can order products by using this display without contacting the staff. We have a dedicated view for users to create custom, fancy cakes. The system offers a full backend administration user interface for stockpiling.

What was the team composition?

Integral Vision always offered the right people to solve problems. All needs have been covered in time. The two-week sprints made our cooperation smooth and transparent.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

I haven’t spent any money on marketing. Despite of this, the number of online sales has increased every month after launching the webshop. We’ve sold more than five thousand cakes in the past year. This number is far more than I have expected. It’s been worth spending more to grow our online business.

The proactivity of the team and the account manager were awesome. They were transparent and reliable during the whole cooperation.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

It has been a great experience working with such a professional team. I know they will help my business succeed in many ways, not just by developing our web application.

We had a marketing consultant who analyzed the potential web service providers and selected Integral Vision for their good reputation with sustaining online businesses. The modular and flexible system they used in previous projects was convincing.

They designed a catalog of usable products, developed an SEO strategy, and created and optimized our online shopping experience. Along with e-commerce development, they helped us change our ERP system. It was really important to have seamless integration with this new ERP.

They executed a content marketing strategy to help users choose the guitar that best matches their needs. They also designed the platform to make it easy to use, yet suitable for our business requirements.

We worked with two people from Integral Vision during the development run. After we started to work on test sites, two other people joined the project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We have a stable and beautiful online store. Thanks to the ERP integration, most of the manual work is now automatized. Our colleagues can focus more on content marketing to increase sales performance. We’ve received customer feedback suggesting that the online store UI is very intuitive.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We got a testing version of the online store in the early stages of the development. The developers released new functions for testing every two weeks. We had time to test the features, learn the administration workflow, and work on the content before launching the website.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They’re responsive and their communication is reliable, fast and smooth.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We’d like them to spend more time in the shop to have a deeper understanding of the inner processes.

Now we have a unique platform. When it went live, many outlets published articles about our service.

We were skeptical about the two-week iterations but accepted them. It helped that their team responded quickly to urgent requests. We communicated on Jira but also had face-to-face meetings to ask questions, specify needs, and discuss problems that arose during testing. We cooperated and communicated effectively from the beginning.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The result surprised us and exceeded our expectations. We love the website.

While importing data, they could have focused more on data testing.

I’m a historian and archaeologist, and I was responsible for the online presence of the Hungarian National Museum. Our museum collects, preserves and presents the historical relics of the Carpathian Basin and Hungary.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The website won multiple awards, including “website of the year” in the field of culture in 2015. We’ve seen a lot of statistical improvement, and we tracked 209,000 visitors last year. The solution is well-structured and informative, and we’ve received positive feedback in-house and from other stakeholders.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Communication was excellent and their process was transparent. Their approach was flexible and they met all the deadlines. Their accounting scheme based on storypoints was not entirely clear in the beginning, but it made more sense as we worked with them. If Integral Vision found our concept to be outdated or inconvenient for our users, they would redirect us. They were open to discussions and provided rational arguments.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were completely focused on our goals, and that resulted in a more impressive solution.

We would have liked them to better understand the services our company provides.

I researched local developers online, and Integral Vision was one of the first names that came up for Drupal developers in Budapest. They had an excellent reputation and relevant references, so we went with them.

The website featured a flat, modern design, and we received great feedback from our users.

Overall, the development process was transparent and reliable. Integral Vision worked in two-week sprints, which allowed us to adjust our direction as we progressed. Each sprint was on time and kept in accordance with our specifications. I appreciated how precise they were when demonstrating what they had delivered.

I was impressed by their accuracy, expertise, and precision. They led a flexible collaboration.

I was working for an e-learning company that was creating a video-based learning platform for Hungarian secondary schools.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Integral Vision?

Our project involved two large pillars: content and the creation of a platform for children to access. Integral Vision was the producer of the platform itself.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Integral Vision developed our web-based learning portal. We planned and developed the whole thing in collaboration. We created hundreds of five-minute videos based on the Hungarian secondary school curriculum and made them accessible through the platform. Users could create their own study schedules and interact with each other, follow their progress, and retain and recheck their knowledge.

What is the team composition?

We had a team of five people on their end, with three people on our side. We met every second week, and we discussed any questions in the meantime.

How did you come to work with Integral Vision?

We had a tender for the job and assessed three contestants. Integral Vision were by far the most well-equipped, and it’s proved to be a good decision to work with them.

One of the reasons for choosing them was that Zsolt (CEO, Integral Vision) had a background in e-learning and was one of the foremost experts in Hungary.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in September 2013, and the project concluded in June 2014.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We won an annual award for the best Hungarian website in 2014 with this project. My company, which was the main producer of the site was shut down, but the site is still going. To this day, there are over 100,000 visitors on the site daily, even though it hasn’t been updated. This was accomplished with no marketing budget.

We get messages every day about expanding the site, so it could’ve been even bigger. Teachers and students loved it, and they’re using it in their everyday lives.

How did Integral Vision perform from a project management standpoint?

We had two-week sprints with demos at the end of each one. These involved long, productive meetings to discuss the next phase. It was a very smooth project. Their work was always on time, and we had no serious mix-ups. We were able to stay on budget, on plan, and on schedule. It would be hard to criticize them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their UX people are impressive. It’s a fairly young team of people and, because of the closeness of age with the target audience, they were able to come up with great ideas.

Something else I really valued was their deep ownership of the product. They were invested in it from the very beginning, and they gave us their best people. They offered a lot of great ideas and weren’t afraid to tell us if we were on the wrong path.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re smaller than they ought to be, and they could grow faster. We don’t work together anymore, but we’ve maintained a good relationship, so I’ve seen their progress. They’re quite selective about their projects, and they put a high emphasis on connecting with their clients—that means they pick and choose, but they do it well.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I would absolutely recommend them without any concerns. They’re a top-tier team.

We develop internal solutions and didn't want to build in-house competencies. We needed a partner with several years of experience in web design, data visualization, and website development. It was also important that we use similar methodology. That's why we decided to work with them.

The new system has replaced a lot of manual work and increased capacity. 

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Since we're both IT companies with similar methodologies, we collaborated well. Both parties had considerable experience with Scrum and agile methodologies. They were accountable and reliable. We formulated our needs and they suggested technical solutions. Thanks to their agility, we always met our deadlines. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They didn't build a solution for mass production. Instead, they created a custom solution based on our needs and experiences.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I require more proactivity during the support phase. If I hand over the product, I would like them to look after it and keep selling the project. Basically, their upsales performance could impove.

We are still making improvements to the website, so it is not yet public. However, we have presented the cooperation method and the structure of the website at two conferences to date, and we are confident that this is an important and unique project that has potential to foster discussion about the social role of the contemporary museum.
