What was the scope of their involvement?

Insyte Consultancy Services designed and developed a cross-platform mobile app in AWS that allows users to schedule periodic reminders throughout the day. I gave them my basic idea, and Insyte Consultancy Services developed the look and feel of the app. I then provided feedback on the color palette and the initial design, which involved slider bars. 

From there, Insyte Consultancy Services developed the app's backend and set up the servers. They included administrative and partner portals for users to utilize and created app content. After the app goes live, they'll provide maintenance services.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Insyte Consultancy Services delivered an app unlike anything on the market — I believe the app will be a market disruptor. I hope that it can become a Zoom plugin and that I can sell it to business and call centers. I've received a lot of positive feedback from those I show the app to, but I haven't launched it yet.

I communicate with Insyte Consultancy Services through Google Meet and email. We keep track of the project via Jira. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciated that Insyte Consultancy Services embraced my vision and believed in me.

We should've completed the app faster than we did, but software always takes longer than I expected.

We are an in-home service company with franchises in several locations. We do dog walking and pet services in people’s homes. We have nine different locations across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Colorado. I work for the franchisor along with two of the corporate-owned locations managed. I am the head of technology and accounting.

We hired Insyte to develop a mobile app for our staff which they can utilize for our dog walking services. We also wanted to have a way to track our staff remotely while they’re working.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app is being developed on Android and iOS. We needed it on both platforms to allow our 50–200 users to use it on whatever device they personally own. 

The app gives each one of our field staff their daily schedule and displays it for them. It also gives them the option to map it. Moreover, it gives details regarding the services that they need to perform. In the same way, we’re also informed whether they’ve already arrived at their destination and that updates on our backend software. 

During the dog walk, the app maps their walk and they can also take a picture once the visit concludes. After that, a notification is sent out to our customers which includes the picture of their pet and their itinerary map. 

The app is essentially done, but we’re revising and updating it with some additional features. We continue to fine-tune it before we finish rolling it out. Currently, we’ve rolled it out to two of our nine locations. We have another project lined up for them after they complete our app.

They’re the second company that I worked with. I worked with another developer before them who wasn’t able to successfully finish the project after 18 months. That vendor didn’t complete the Android version of the app and only finished the iOS version successfully. 

As such, I searched using Google to look for developers and came across information for Insyte. I contacted Raj and he put together a proposal and connected me with a project manager.

We’ve spent $20,000–$25,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

They started working in September 2019, and we continue to collaborate. The project was not projected to take a long time, but we hit a couple of delays. When the pandemic hit, we paused production on the app for about three months.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They are experts and have done an excellent job. The team is knowledgeable and capable of executing the plans we give them, which has been beneficial for us. I’m very impressed with their development team and very satisfied with the quality of their work. The end product is exactly what I wanted, more or less. 

How did Insyte Consultancy Services perform from a project management standpoint?

Most of the time, they’re good at meeting deadlines. Sometimes we don't meet it because of me or because they failed to do so. Overall, when they know that it is a critical time for us, they perform more often than not. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their technical expertise is impressive. They have a team in place that can handle whatever is thrown at them. Truly, whenever I give them an idea, they’re able to deliver it as long as I’m clear in defining what I want. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The design phase was unique for them because I came at it with what I thought was a designed project. They're typically used to working with people that they do the design for, so what we have was a unique situation and we worked through it. I don’t fault them so much as I know it was something new.

Furthermore, I’m not sure they understood our use case or if they fully took into account our perspective on how things had to work. I’m not sure if they have been able to really understand some of the problems unless I point them out. This is a different project type than they’re used to, but understanding our business is where they didn’t spend enough time or where they didn’t seem to fully appreciate what was required based on how our business runs.

Fully define the scope of the project ahead of time. Invest the time upfront scoping, designing, and thinking through the details.

We needed help with app development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’re working on a new video touch screen entry system product. It has one way video applications for iOS and Android. It also supports legacy application services. They’re making the app from scratch and work on our on-site servers. We’re currently in the final testing stages.

Using the system, anyone can go up to an apartment building, quickly search for someone on a video touch panel and press their name and unit number. The tenant gets a call on their cellphone or landline, or a video call on their iOS and Android device.

Our metrics for success are time to completion and product performance. They’ve been successful with the project so far.

We use Skype and email for daily communication. Timelines have been taking longer than necessary. That being said, the development they're working on is very difficult. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to tackle and complete a problem that’s within their scope stands out. They’re also adept at outsourcing to complete a project.

Their timeframes could be improved.

My advice is to sign up and work with them. The team does excellent work and they meet their obligations. They’ll complete your projects to your satisfaction.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We weren’t happy with the services of our previous vendor, and we were dissatisfied with the version of the iOS and Android mobile app we previously had. Insyte Consultancy Services helped us service the existing app, rebuilding it from scratch. The app was severely out of date, and they fixed all the problems that we had.

When the world returns to normal, they’ll continue to completely redesign the GPS tracking app and other mobile app concepts we have for our business.

We’re currently in beta testing, but we’ve received positive feedback from test users. Our in-house dev team is pleased with the code quality.

How did Insyte Consultancy Services perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great at maintaining open communication and staying on top of deadlines. For the most part, we didn’t have any problems with scheduling. We mainly communicated via phone and shared-screen meetings to test the interface.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It was incredibly easy to communicate with both the project manager and the CEO of the company. They touched base with us regularly to make sure issues were solved, which built our trust and confidence in them.

They could’ve done better at understanding the scope of our project at the beginning to avoid any miscommunications down the road.

I'm the founder and CEO of Kiss my Ride corporation. Our company offers a mobile application for the automotive and motorcycle industry. It helps locate service parts and sales while on the go.

We hired them to handle the development of our app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We held an in-depth discussion to go over everything. They provided the wireframes and sketches to show what the application would look like. We collaboratively went through an iterative design process wherein they incorporated multiple round of feedback. The team developed our app for both Android and iOS. 

On the consumer side, the app shows users a list of nearby vendors based on their pin location and the keywords they use in a search. If a motorist's car breaks down while they're traveling in an unfamiliar area, our system can give them a better sense of the businesses in the area so they can make an informed decision about who to hire for the work they need. The other type of users on our platform are businesses, who are subscribers that pay to be featured. Consumers can download it for free and have access to those vendors through the app.

I worked directly with Raj (CEO and Co-Founder, Insyte Consultancy Services) and another individual from the team, which kept the process streamlined. Other teammates worked on the project as well, I just didn't interact with them.

How did you come to work with Insyte Consultancy Services?

I shopped around for vendors based on the quoted cost and considered three options, but made the ultimate decision to hire Insyte Consultancy. I first found them through a Google search for app developers and assessed their previous projects. They demonstrated the ability to listen, understand, and give professional input based on their app development skills and experience. 

After my first meeting with the CEO, I was sold. Oher companies only told me the price and timeline estimate, and then asked when I could pay them. In that regard, the team offered an exceptional level of service in comparison. They offered flexibility and had experience building other apps for the auto industry, which made me feel comfortable as well.

What is the status of this engagement?

I signed the formal agreement in November 2018, and they finished the prototype by the second week of December. The final buildout is ongoing. I'm still working on financing the rest of the project.

We came to Insyte Consultancy Services with only an idea of what we wanted, and they brought it to life.  The quality of the work we’ve received right now is superb. I'm more than fully satisfied with the prototype’s professionalism and am pleased its look and feel. 

How did Insyte Consultancy Services perform from a project management standpoint?

We held weekly meetings via phone and video, and everything went pretty smoothly. During the initial meeting, we went over the entire scope of the project with the project manager. About a week later, he sent me over the rough draft of the wireframe for my review and approval. 

We went through a couples of rounds of changes within a week's time, then went forward into the design phase. They sent me the design for approval and made all the changes I requested. Ultimately, I opted to go with their initial design. We got together on a weekly basis to go over the project. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive part of working with Insyte Consultancy Services was the quality of work they produced. I also appreciated their availability. We could reach them at any time, day or night. They didn't give us a limited window to communicate.

No, there are none.

Not at this time. Anyone who hires Insyte Consultancy Services would find them an exceptional company. They’re great to work with and I highly recommend them.

I’m the president of America First - Competitive Market Economic Advocacy (AF - CMEA). We’re a think tank that seeks to promote new economic strategies in the U.S. Given that many of the problems in our economy can’t be solved by any single individual or private-sector entity, our goal is to provide a platform that facilitates more collective-driven solutions.

We needed resources to help us ideate and develop a prototype for a web-based social networking platform as well as a mobile app for iOS and Android. With our product, we hope to move opinions and markets with a new, innovative approach to economic/political analysis.

What was the scope of their involvement?

After an extensive vetting period, they’ve provided key consultation to help crystallize our operations. This has mainly involved defining our business requirements, translating them into technical documentation, and creating flow diagrams. Once we solidify what the platform does and how it operates, they’ll convert those diagrams into wireframes and begin building the prototype.

One of the key features we’ve specified is the ability to gather provided user data to automate marketing strategies. Based on a user’s browsing patterns or survey responses, we would customize our marketing to send content that they’re interested in via email and targeted social media. We’re still working on how to make that a noninvasive process, but that’s all part of the challenge.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since we’re still developing our specifications, we don’t have any hard metrics yet. However, from a qualitative perspective, I appreciate how patient they've been during our back and forth. After every discussion, they sketch out some ideas on frameworks for approval. If the framework isn’t aligned with our direction, they’ll listen to our feedback and then repackage their flow diagrams to better match our vision.

They’re very flexible and are willing to work with us to figure out which ideas can actually be implemented. Occasionally, there have been functions that I wanted to include that weren’t technically feasible, so they’d suggest alternative ideas to move forward. As for communication, we typically spoke once or twice a week using Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

In addition to their flexibility and willingness to take initiative, I value their insights. They’re able to actively listen to our needs and refine their work to align with our goals. Furthermore, they believe in our project and its potential to change how we approach economic analysis/engagement. They’re not just agreeing with us to please us; rather, they’re doing what’s good for us while providing achievable technical solutions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It might benefit them to deliver a bit faster. There have been times when things took longer than they maybe should have. I’m not in a hurry, right now, but if I were under a tighter timetable, it could be a potential issue.

We contracted with them to develop an on-site database and web server that would be hosted on a customer’s specific site. That would allow us to manage devices on that site, and it would connect back to centralized servers so it could be managed remotely. They used Windows and Linux services to create native and cross-platform applications. We provided them with wireframes and a scope of what we wanted for the servers and Android and iOS apps.

We have not yet completed all phases of this project. Everything they have accomplished so far has worked flawlessly.

We communicated primarily using Skype, and they were responsive during weekends and holidays. Any issue that came up was addressed quickly. We had some delays in the project timeline, but everything else was agreeable.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They provide a tremendous level of service for their price point.

They could have better accuracy on project completion timelines. However, we asked them to take on multiple projects at once so that we didn’t have to use multiple developers. Insyte stepped up and was able to handle all of our projects, but that probably caused those delays.
