The scope of work revolved around augmenting our engineering team with specialized technical talent from InnoApps. After an initial assessment, they deployed a group of developers and consultants with varied but complementary skill sets. We had two backend developers who primarily supported our rostering automation module, a DevOps expert who led our migration to an updated CI/CD pipeline, and a front-end engineer who worked closely with our design team to refine admin dashboards and user settings. Each team member was fully embedded into our scrum teams and contributed to sprint planning, code reviews, QA cycles, and post-deployment analysis. InnoApps was also responsible for ensuring onboarding documentation, security protocols, and performance baselines were met. One of the major deliverables was the rebuild of our rostering engine using a more scalable architecture which involved rethinking how data syncs across multiple school districts and third-party systems. That project alone was delivered ahead of internal deadlines and is still in use with high stability today.

Beyond the on-time completion of our major deliverables, there were several clear indicators that the engagement was successful. For instance, the refactored rostering engine not only met our performance benchmarks but exceeded them in terms of data synchronization speed and API responsiveness under load. Our CI/CD pipeline saw a notable drop in deployment failures and rollback incidents after the improvements led by InnoApps’ DevOps consultant. Internally, we were able to launch key product updates within our desired release windows without having to delay any milestones due to resource shortages. Perhaps just as importantly, the overall team morale improved; our developers had the breathing room to focus on higher-value tasks while knowing that reliable experts had their backs on the infrastructure and user-facing fronts.

InnoApps was exceptionally organized. Their team led regular stand-ups, and they were proactive in reporting blockers before they became issues. We always felt informed, not just about what was being delivered but also about why certain decisions were made. On multiple occasions, we made mid-sprint adjustments due to shifting compliance requirements or internal priority changes, and they absorbed those pivots without friction. They met every major deadline we laid out and were responsive both in scheduled meetings and off-cycle requests. Their communication style was direct, transparent, and collaborative no micromanaging needed from our side, which speaks volumes.

They didn’t just send developers they provided professionals who demonstrated genuine curiosity, asked thoughtful questions, and made valuable suggestions that impacted not just code but user experience, system design, and team workflow. They didn’t wait for tasks to be handed to them; they identified inefficiencies, proposed optimizations, and in some cases, implemented improvements that we hadn’t even scoped initially but now couldn’t live without. That level of initiative is rare. It felt less like outsourcing and more like an extension of our own team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something InnoApps could have done differently?

Overall, the experience was overwhelmingly positive, though no engagement is without minor friction. The only slight challenge was during the initial onboarding of one of the DevOps engineers. There was a brief delay just a few days due to overlapping client commitments on their end. While they communicated it early and transparently, and the temporary resource they provided was helpful, it did create a small gap in continuity. That said, once the engineer was fully onboard, the output and integration were seamless, and any early concerns quickly faded. For future engagements, tighter alignment of start dates would be the only area I’d recommend fine-tuning.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I've had an iterative process with InnoApps of outlining my specifications. I had a clear vision of what I wanted the platform to provide. I didn't have a document that detailed every requirement from day one. I was happy moving forward with a high-level view of what we need to do and how it all ties in. From there, we’ve started building it.

Over time, InnoApps has iterated everything from the text, positioning, coloring, and various copy functionality in an ongoing process. I’m driving the process by saying what I need, and InnoApps then makes it happen. All work is pre-wireframed and pre-approved, and it’s generally what I want, but sometimes I want something different when I see it in reality.

InnoApps has provided me with a few wireframes for options. The platform isn’t complex, so there isn’t much design work outside of the layout, and it’s constantly evolving. For example, we’ve added a back button because users want to return to the search results.

InnoApps is producing a full specifications document. I’ve requested this recently, and it might come next week. Essentially, I want to catalog everything, including the code written using intermediary apps to push notifications or do password reset. All the backend needs to be correctly mapped to the current state because we've had some changes, and the team uses AWS and JavaScript.

We work with about six teammates, including a BA, a CTO, a UX developer, a backend developer, a project manager, and an infrastructure specialist.

How did you come to work with InnoApps?

I hired InnoApps based on a referral. The Australian company I’m working with for the platform's design has interfaced with InnoApps, translating my requirements via Trello. The Australian company recommended going to InnoApps to develop my project. When I was evaluating other service providers, I noticed that their fees were considerably different from InnoApps' quote.

InnoApps had been reviewing, quoting, and developing the platform. After about six months of the project, I realized it was better for me to deal with InnoApps’ developers directly because having someone in between us was inefficient. I’ve been a consultant before, so I know about connecting software and designing requirements.

I’m working with an Australian intermediary, so I don’t know how much InnoApps is charging. I believe we've spent around $100,000–$150,000 AUD.

InnoApps has been doing a good job. The team thinks through the problem, and their work usually functions the first time. I had a clear vision of what I wanted the platform to provide. InnoApps has been able to take that vision and build it. They’ve been able to iterate and make changes based on my feedback. The platform is now pretty advanced in terms of what has been completed. 

InnoApps is accountable for issues or bugs I've pointed out and has reacted to my direction.

How did InnoApps perform from a project management standpoint?

InnoApps always quotes in advance, and they always stay on budget. We use Trello to interact with the team because it gives a good record. We have development cards that we can update. We can share pictures and text easily and set requirements around wireframing.

Sometimes, bugs are hard to evidence. For example, when testing it, I’ll have a bug based on my screen size or device. I can record what I see on the screen using Loom, and InnoApps will work out how to fix it. We communicate through Google Meet.

I want to highlight Sakshi's work. She translates all the information I provide and works with all the developers to get it actioned. She has been my closest contact on a daily basis.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I like that InnoApps is solutions-oriented. I don’t feel like I’m getting ripped off. There is a bit of give and take in terms of pricing and actioning things. InnoApps is constantly working, and the team delivers weekly updates for us to address. The team is patient with me when I’m too busy to get back to them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

InnoApps has done a good job. The improvement would be a laser focus on attention to detail and thinking like a user, less like a developer. They should step into users' shoes and ask if this is their best work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very clear on how you’re going to engage with InnoApps. Ask a lot of questions about the solution's infrastructure and architecture so it scales with your vision. Make sure you’ve given the full end-to-end journey you’re going on. Get them to provide input on the best architecture to deliver on that, even if it’s in stages.

World Innovation Technologies is a software company based in Austin, Texas. We provide value-added solutions for companies around the world. We’ve provided a couple of solutions to mobile operators in Gabon, Airtel, and other companies like Digitech Africa, specializing in mobile payments and IT solutions.

What challenge were you trying to address with InnoApps Technologies Pvt. Ltd.?

We were trying to look for mobile platforms that will be complementary to the payment gateways that we developed, that is, e-billing. The goal is to provide a mobile app that will allow merchants to easily go online by creating their portal within the app about their products. It will also allow the end user to find the products that they’re looking for easily.

It’s a mobile app intended for both users and merchants, providing a turnkey solution for mobile and credit card payments. We were looking for companies that can help us that was the first time that we were developing a mobile-based app.

Our web-based solution is responsive, but it was the first time that we were trying to provide a native mobile app. We didn’t have any specific experience, so we were looking for a partner to help us with the design and development, and publication in different stores.

All the processes involving our country registration without any experience, it was very important to try to find a partner with that experience and exposure with a company in Africa. What was interesting to me is that I found out they developed an app similar to ours in Senegal. We know that their team knowing the market was important.

Their team did everything. Along with design and development, they assisted with publicizing the app and any additional assistance.

They weren’t directly involved in marketing, but they did provide some feedback to help design the marketing.

As for content, I provided most of the ideas, but I relied on them to translate them to include things that can easily work or that can be easily implemented. I left the door open to their expertise to help with design and other concepts.

The app is for both iOS and Android.

There was the project manager, and I’ve interacted with one developer and two QA officers. For the design part, I had two designers.

I posted ads online looking for a freelance agency. I then did a few interviews. As I said, I chose them because they had previous experience with another mobile payment application.

The actual amount is around $20,000. We initially budgeted around $30,000, but after deciding to only focus on the mobile app, that decreased.

The partnership began a little bit before the pandemic, but we paused for a while before resuming in June 2020. The project was completed, but the partnership is still ongoing.

The design and development were perfect. We’re now preparing for the actual launch. Currently, we’re in the test phase, and the marketing is being worked on. The app has been published on iOS and Android.

I’m very satisfied with the way the design was done. The team put a lot of tools for us to help with follow-ups. For the development part, I pay attention to the design, and the code is well-structured. I have access to all the source codes so I can review them.

Generally speaking, I’m pretty satisfied with the way the project was conducted and the quality of the work.

We have regular reviews with the project manager. I’m in the US, and they’re based in India, but I can reach out to the project manager at any time. I really appreciate their availability and communication flow.

We mainly use Slack for daily communications and Zoom for meetings. We also use Figma for design and Jira Atlassian for all the bug and issue tracking.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I usually use freelancers for these jobs, and they’re the first agency I’ve used. So far, I’m pretty satisfied with what we have done and achieved. I’ve learned a lot from their team. They guided me through all the steps, how to create a certificate, how to publish an app, and how to perform a review.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Because I have a technical background, I really like to be involved. I would’ve liked to have more exposure to the developers. I can understand that some people like to have full control, but I like to know all of the details and steps for me.

Other than that, the project manager was available most of the time, and the developers were mostly available during Indian business hours. The more you work with international companies, the more you should try to adjust a little bit. I had some technical questions, so they could try to adjust their timelines based on the customer.

For projects like this, it is important to be active. I try to be very reactive to ensure everything is being paid attention to and that we don’t have long delays.

Make sure that they’re scheduled. Try to prioritize things that have a dependency on others, especially with a time difference. Coordination with teams and making sure that requirements are clear will save a lot of time. I would really recommend clear requirements and communication.

I needed a mobile app developed for my business idea. I brought it to them, and they developed it for me specifically. I was looking to replicate how we physically exchange business cards digitally.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I gave them an idea of different screens and some designs, and they went and developed the entire thing. The app includes a QR code, a generator, and a scanner. Every time someone signs up, they get a business card and each card has a QR code graphic on it that you can actually scan and they're added to your wallet. You can also set reminders for different business cards, things like a fancy notification drawer. They also give you the option to actually customize your business card so you can change your name, your headline, your color of the cards, and even your profile picture. The app is for iOS and Android, developed using React Native and a Firebase backend.

I worked with four people. There were two developers and two project managers — they were a very easy to work with and a very transparent team.

A team of 3-4 people most of the time, including the Project Lead and 2-3 IT members depending on the number of tasks or issues to be fixed.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have launched the platform about a month ago, V1 is fully operational, working on the V2 on a staging server in parallel.

Communication essentially via Trello in regards to the product development and management of ongoing tasks. The rest of the communication would be by email (formal) or WhatsApp (informal updates) for urgent matters.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have a good understanding of the final product we're aiming at producing. So it facilitates the communication and understanding of the directives.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Always space for improvement in every company, coding is not an exact science so sometimes new features create new issues.
