I am the IT manager at an investment fund.

What challenges were you trying to address with Infocus Business Technology?

We didn’t have a consolidated database with the company’s information, so Infocus Business Technology helped us create a solution that would allow us to have all the information of all our projects into a single platform.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The database was created using Pentaho.

What was the team composition?

We worked directly with two people.

How did you come to work with Infocus Business Technology?

We interviewed different local companies here in Uruguay and they were the ones who offered the best solution to what we were looking for. Something that was also very important for us at the moment of choosing to work with them, was their support and contact. We knew that they were going to provide us with the close support that we were looking for.

How much have you invested in them?

At the beginning of the project, we spent between $5,000–$7,000 USD. Currently, we’re investing between $300–$1,000 USD per month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them about two years ago in 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had outstanding results. We basically didn’t have consolidated information and nowadays, it's very important for any business to have this kind of information. If we wanted to consult information related to our sales, reports, point of sales etc., we had to check an excel sheet of each of these individually. Now, with this software, we have a database that has completely changed the way we work.

How did Infocus Business Technology perform from a project management standpoint?

Their communications were great, they have their own project management system where you can place any requests, mark priorities, have them solved, and also track work hours, which has worked perfectly — they’ve had a great and immediate response.

What did you find most impressive about them?

To me, something very important was the possibility to communicate directly with the person in charge of the development. That allowed us to have a great understanding and excellent communication as we would always solve any requests very easily.

They are also great at finding the best solutions for our needs, they are very transparent, straightforward, and they don’t make you go with the solution that will cost the most — their work has been exceptional in that regard.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve in their time tracking. It's not that they don’t do it right, but sometimes it's hard for me to keep track of the time we spend. The system they use for this could improve to make it easier to manage.

I am the manager of the Agesic PMO (Project Management Office). Agesic is a government agency that promotes regulatory frameworks, projects and consulting to the entire government and the country for the digital transformation of government.

For what projects/services did your company hire Infocus Business Technology?

As part of the Strategic Planning area, we need a management system that also allows us to evaluate and monitor the main projects and initiatives. For this, an advanced Business Intelligence system is being implemented.

How did you select Infocus Business Technology and what were the deciding factors?

proven experience in other projects at Agesic and other government agencies, which positions them as one of the most efficient and effective companies on the market, added value of its consultants, who at all times are involved in achieving the best possible results and help us to think about new options for the future, and the selection of this supplier was through a tender to which several companies were invited, clearly being the preferred ones after the evaluation of proposals and achievements obtained to date.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

A BI system is developed that in different stages incorporates indicators and data from different sources within our organization. This development makes it possible to adjust other information-generating systems and also produces strategic information that allows making decisions on time.

How many resources from the Infocus Business technology team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The vendor's team consists primarily of a business analyst, a systems engineer, and the support of a development specialist with the Pentaho tool.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since the beginning of 2020, the operational indicator board of one of the areas of our Agency has been fully operational. At the same time that the budget monitoring and human resources dashboards were worked on (and were finalized a few weeks ago).

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The work has been developed in a very collaborative way and with constant contributions from the supplier, which helped to improve our original ideas. The work style of this company is recognized in the market for its total empathy and involvement in the needs and solutions of customers. We have total satisfaction with them.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Having worked with many companies in many years, I have seen very few with the level of commitment, efficiency and quality that this company offers us. His team joined ours with high participation in meetings, data analysis and proposals.

They are practically part of our own Project Office. The team has an excellent balance of experience and empathy with the client throughout the workflow.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Currently we do not find other areas for improvement, but we are sure that if new challenges appear, they have the necessary flexibility and adaptability, with knowledge and experience of many other tools and solutions that we have contracted from time to time.
