Magento 1 had a number of securities issues and support was being discontinued so we needed to migrate to Magento 2.

What were your goals for this project?

To upgrade the look and feel of the website while increasing the stability and security of the site.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We put out requests for proposals online and got a handful of responses. We selected Infigic after they assured us they had extensive experience migrating from Magento 1 to Magento 2. Infigic also claimed to have the programming expertise to do the custom programming we required to make our website function.

We partnered with Infigic to create the design of the website and generated a detailed Scope of Work. Infigic was responsible to executing the vision and creating a functional, secure website.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The impact on our business has been dramatic- Our sales have been cut in half! The website does not function as described in the Scope of Work.

Feedback from our clients has been terrible-

• "you should definitely fire your IT contractor,"
• "This new site is not as user friendly as before,"
• etc.

There are direct quotes from our clients nearly 2 months after the new site was launched. The project has been a total catastrophe and is threatening the very existence of the business.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Infigic spends a lot of time communicating with us as clients. At first, I thought this was positive but it became more clear over time that the constant communication was because they didn't have any ideas or confidence to move forward with anything on their own.

I believe they also use this tactic to cover their asses later by saying "you were involved in the process and signed off on (fill in the blank)," as a way to not take responsibility for the non-functioning website.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I am most impressed by how Infigic fails to take responsibility for delivering on what they promised. Their ability to come up with excuses and point fingers rather than come up with solutions is second to none.

Are there any areas for improvement?

This project has been a complete and utter failure. I understand that there will probably be some problems and bugs that need to be fixed with any major project.

But, when you couple Infigic's incompetence and poor execution on the original project with their unwavering commitment not to accept and correct the problems they have created, it leads to a horrible result. A result that is so bad that it threatens the very existence of the business Infigic was hired to help.

The project was redesigning the Magento website from old to newer design and migration from M1 to M2.

Our robust project management process includes every project milestone to be clearly identified  and completion of the sprint  to be signed off by the Client to prevent confusion later on. Problems arose after the site was ready to launch. The client wanted to incorporate additional features, which was  classified under "bug fixes" and when we denied that it was a bug, the client refused to listen and refused to incur additional charges for them.

Despite our polite requests, he threatened to ruin Infigic's reputation by writing a bad review of us on Clutch. Since we did not comply, a negative testimonial was published on purpose.

The site went live in 2018, there has not been any changes which proves the quality of our work.

Our reputation has averaged between 4.5 and 5 on Clutch across our past engagements. Our work is testament to that. We have references of clients we have been working with for more than a decade that are available on request.

We listed out all the tasks and got the developer working. He was responsible for all the frontend development.

Infigic’s Senior frontend developer with experience in ReactJS was involved in the project. He collaborated with the product development lead and our backend developer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The delivery of the project has definitely met our expectations considering our accelerated time frame. The stakeholders of the project are pleased with the outcome and impressed with their customer focus and corporate standards.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Though we used Slack to manage workflows as we had opted for a remote resource, they also used PM tools to monitor & track the project task.Their communication and scheduling was excellent. The team member allocated to our project was attentive and proactive to our requirements and adhered to the timeline outlined.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They work with a wide variety of developers in various roles, which helps in tailoring them to our needs. We will continue to partner with them because they’re responsive and produce great work. We also found this model of remote resourcing very cost effective.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Though we received daily updates of the tasks done as per assignment, we would have appreciated a detailed report. Other than that I don’t recall any bottlenecks.

I was looking for a development company that could work with people like me who had no technical experience. When I contacted them, they were extremely responsive and available to discuss the project. I appreciated that they were willing to take the effort to communicate technical concepts to me so that we could work as partners.

They developed a site and app that encouraged a dynamic interaction between users and independent contractors. Users could search and place orders for certain services, which notified the independent contractors to complete the transaction. The platform also featured order management capabilities, a rating system, an analytics tracker, and digital payment.

While I haven’t officially launched the app yet, I’ve received positive feedback from beta testing. Users indicate that they found the app easy to use. The layout, while different, had an intuitive format.

They were always willing to work with my schedule despite our time differences and accommodated any last minute changes. We communicated primarily through Skype.

Beyond their strong deliverables, I valued their professionalism. The team was truly dedicated to being partners, working to make the project a success.

While there were some minor time delays, they always communicated upfront if we needed to push back the expected milestones.

What was the business challenge that you were trying to address with Infigic Digital Solutions?

We needed to customize an open-source platform to fit our needs of local, on-demand delivery. We wanted to build an MVP [minimum viable product] to accept customer orders and tailor delivery prices based on distance.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

We worked with Infigic in phases, the first was to apply UX [user experience] screens to an open source platform and set up the marketplace application, then we created a distance-based fulfillment feature, and then they helped to convert the checkout to a one-page checkout.

How did you come to work with Infigic Digital Solutions?

I posted a job on Elance and evaluated multiple vendors via Skype interview. I selected based on affordability, review, rating, and professionalism.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

It was around $7,500

What is the status of this engagement?

Our last phase was completed in roughly June 2015, but there is ongoing support.

What were the results of the project?

The Infigic Digital Solutions team performed well, creating a good application and resolving bugs quickly. They are very dedicated and hard working. They deliver high-quality code and consistently recommend better approaches.

In hindsight, are there areas in which they could improve, or things you might do differently?

I would require test-driven development.

Integration of useful SDKs didn't come as the standard. These could have been incooperated at the start of the project
