We came to impltech with an idea. We sell solar panels and the market in Germany is very good for them right now. Unfortunately, there was no software on the market with which we could make good offers, especially taking into account all the suppliers on the market. Together with impltech we worked out the idea, documented it and in the end developed the software for it.

The discovery phase of the project was very professional. All requirements were documented and implemented in the designs. Throughout the development phase, we were closely involved in the project and received a report and presentation on the current status every two weeks.

Our company is located near Berlin, where impltech is also based. Of course, it was very convenient because we could easily meet in person at impltech or at our office. The communication went very well and we were able to get to know the entire Berlin team.

There is always room for improvement, no matter how good you are. We are sure that impltech is continuously working on it.

With impltech we have built a web application that makes our work much easier. We can process the data much more efficiently and visualize everything in wonderful dashboards.

impltech made their own suggestions on the technology. they did everything from working through the existing excel sheets to design, development and delivery. Since we are auditors ourselves, we relied on our partner for the development.

I was impressed with their accessibility and development knowledge. Especially the mathematical understanding of the business analyst was impressive. In auditing, there are complex formulas that also create dependencies. The BA worked through everything flawlessly.

Probably something that no software development company can deliver but knowledge of IFRS is surely helpful.

What challenge were you trying to address with impltech?

We had existing solutions in place, but they weren’t integrated and didn’t cover everything we needed. As a result, our team still had to do plenty of manual work and paperwork. Given that, we needed impltech to help us. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The impltech team helped us modernize our entire warehouse management and resource planning system. They were also in charge of integrating our existing system with a new one. We went through various systems on the market, reviewing them to decide which one was the most suitable for us. After that, we planned how the newly selected system would interact with our existing one. Together, we found out which parts we needed to build on our own. Once that was done, we agreed on a process scheme; everyone in every restaurant branch should be working within the same system using the same processes. 

Afterward, the impltech team started developing the actual system. They walked me through its components, which included the warehouse, calculation, and billing segments. We also partially introduced it to our management team and other key stakeholders. impltech also integrated third-party functionality into it to make the processes easier. 

To date, we’ve finished the main parts of the system. We’re still working on it with the impltech team, and we plan to develop other functions that we don’t have yet.

I work closely with a business analyst and a project manager. More people are involved in the project, but I don’t communicate with them often.

I approached a couple of companies here in Berlin and sent 7–8 emails to other firms. Some of them responded quickly, and one didn’t respond at all. We underwent the typical hiring and selection process. In the end, we decided to go with impltech because they gave us an offer that covered all the modules necessary for the project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Thanks to impltech’s help in digitizing our system, it’s now working smoothly — it’s almost 100% automated. Our team can finally compare our restaurants, managers, and locations as we figure out which one has the best performance. We do that by analyzing the inputs we have, and our team can dig even deeper into them to make necessary changes, which was something we couldn’t do before.

How did impltech perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management style is great, and they’re a professional team. Their sales representative has done a good job from the beginning. Likewise, the business analyst and project manager also perform well. At present, we have a great personal relationship with them, making it easier for our teams to collaborate. We communicate through a Slack channel and use SharePoint to share files and documents. Moreover, the impltech team uses Jira, while our team uses phone and email. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

impltech delivers on time, and if they can’t do that, they inform us ahead of time with an explanation. On top of that, they always have solutions for us when the systems we find don’t cover all of our requirements. This is highly beneficial for our company, and it's one of the best perks of working with them. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

At the start of the project, they could've prepared more thorough documentation; they could’ve put everything on paper, including the scheme of how the system should work. Other than this, we’re completely happy with their services.

Have confidence that impltech is a completely reliable partner. They can come up with solutions that are better than you expect.

The deciding factor, apart from price and transparency, was the fact that impltech had the best grasp of the technical and logical requirements and that I was convinced that impltech was highly motivated by the challenge of this complex project and not just by mere customer acquisition. While others tried to impress us with glossy brochures, impltech did it with solution approaches.

All I can say is that I, but also the management of Connect 44 and our test customer are very satisfied with the results.

They react quickly to sudden shifts in requirements and adjustments without impacting their resources and the possiblity to solve problem in case of emergency even on weekends.

The CEO could improve his game with the white squared bishop in the opening. But joking aside. Considering the high complexity and the sometimes rapid changes in the steps in terms of requirements,priorities and time presure, I consider a better performance to be almost unrealistic.

I'm the COO of a tech company. Our goal is to create 100 independent digital physiotherapists to make full-body rehabilitation accessible to everyone in the world.

What challenge were you trying to address with impltech?

We needed to integrate features. We tested those features on physiotherapists and other stakeholders, so we had a proof of concept.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Based on our description of the project, they built a prototype in InVision and another system. We built out our sprint strategy and set our first deadlines. They created a CRM system with different access points for doctors, patients, and clinics. They then integrated all the physiotherapy tests for patients. Technologies they used included MongoDB, the Amazon stack, and Apache Cassandra for the backend. They also used JavaScript and C++.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a project manager, a QA specialist, two frontend, two backend, and one full-stack developer, and one DevOps specialist.

How did you come to work with impltech?

One of our partners recommended them. We spoke with them on the phone and talked about the history of our business and our needs. They outlined their experience and some past projects that were similar to ours. From there, we decided to hire them.

We paid them sprint by sprint. As of now, we've spent about $16,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in May 2018. They built the prototype in three months, and we'll release our fully functional system by the end of June 2019.

We now have a strong product that will allow us to work with our customers in Germany, and it should be easy to scale to other countries. The architecture is good, and we have all the tools to collect data for our future planning.

They were very good project managers. We use Trello to track tasks and establish sprints. We also communicate via Skype and email, and we store all our documents on Google.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were great to work with. They understood all our needs and their tasks. As a startup, we faced a lot of changes over a short period of time. They adapted to all those changes and were able to help us achieve our new vision. They're a really good support team for our startup.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. We've worked with five other companies, but impltech is definitely the best. They're clever, quick, and responsive, and we plan to use them again in the future.
