We wanted to create a service that was easy for individuals to understand and use.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Illiyin Studio has developed and implemented our mobile and website platforms' UX/UI using Figma, Webflow, HTML, and JavaScript. At the beginning of the partnership, they analyzed existing online providers. During that research, we realized that many existing UIs weren't very user-friendly because of the quantity of information provided. Therefore, we knew we needed a well-organized design that directed users' focus to where we needed it. 

Then, they collaborated with our team on the UI, implementing our requested features. Illiyin Studio's team also provided some recommendations about the features we wanted based on their market research. The entire UI was built from the ground up.

I interface with about three teammates from Illiyin Studio, including the design and development leads and a project coordinator. However, I know there is a larger team working on the project.

We searched for vendors online and came across Illiyin Studio. We looked at their portfolio, which matched our design goals. So, we worked with them on a smaller project before ramping up the partnership after we were satisfied with their initial deliverables.

Our ongoing engagement began in August 2021.

We're getting a lot of positive feedback about the UX/UI; it's unique, functional, and beautiful. 

How did Illiyin Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

Our communication with Illiyin Studio's team is very clear; we utilize Slack, and they respond to our messages within an hour. In general. I'm satisfied with their project management. We used Trello to coordinate the project. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Illiyin Studio's quality of work is really impressive. I don't have to go into detail about the project to get exactly what I want. With their experience and capabilities, they can create high-quality deliverables. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Since English isn't their first language, I sometimes have to liaison directly with the project manager, who is fluent in English, to explain our feedback. It would be beneficial if they added another coordinator with better language skills.

I was searching for good designers on Dribbble.com and I came across Illiyin studio, we scheduled for meeting, we were impressed by their presentation and a quick understanding of our app and needs. We hired them immediately.

Before hiring Illiyin we already had our MVP, at that we needed to upgrade our app to be market ready. We quickly conducted a presentation of the existing system to the Illiyin team and brought them up to speed. Illiyin did further research on our industry competitors to help bring our app to market standard. They redesigned our website and all the app UIs and even created more necessary UIs.

About 5 members from Illiyin team worked with us. They were all exceptional, always ready to listen and make unlimited corrections. Faiz is the project coordinator, Firman is the UIUX designer and project supervisor, Okan is a UI designer, Regatra is the customer support, and Greggy is a UI designer

We had a far better user experience and our users were happier to use our app. our user retention increased.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very effective and smooth. Firman, one of their team member is always able get into my head to quickly understand what I want to create without having to explain so much. That made it very easy to move faster.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are very committed to delivering quality, even far beyond expectation. They are always ready to make unlimited corrections until we are satisfied. They are very friendly with pricing

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I may recommend Illiyin hiring a software technical analyst to help in quickly translating the technical flow of legacy systems that require new UIUX design without leaving out some critical components in the new UIUX.

Based on the portfolio evaluation, the proposal on how they work, their team size and how the proposed the solution, they were the best in the market to work with.

Their team made research on our industry and the type of personas we were targeting. They came up with a couple proposals and it was hard to choose the right proposal as they just nailed the request.

Once that was chosen by us, they went ahead and started to create the creative assets, they were very open to feedback and quick to implement such feedback.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

They were able to create a complete website from scratch, designing all the components, meaning they did not used assets you can buy at marketplaces, therefore the designs are very unique, it gave the brand personalit.

They were able to create as well multiple landing pages for our advertising campaign, they are super creative.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Super easy, we worked over Slack, and we were in constant interaction with them. We are delighted to work with them.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their UX/UI creative is just on another level, their willingness to satisfy the directions while keeping their suggested creative direction is just incredible. They truly create digital art in the form of visual communication for a B2B company in our case.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would not change anything on how they have worked with us, we would just expect that this is the bar going forward.

Initial brief was scoped and provided to the studio team. They then reviewed to understand if they could meet the requirements. A collaborative process as we worked through exploring a new Brand Guidelines and keeping the design team aligned with our goals.

We had 3 people work with us at Illiyin; an onboarding specialist who set us up with the collaboration tools and introduced us to the team and 1 graphic designer, and 1 illustration artist.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Their illustration process was very thorough and in line with the stories briefed. They were responsive to feedback and open to exploring the brand creatively when requested. Internal stakeholders were impressed at the quality of work produced.

The project tool was great and sent email notifications when updates had been made so that you could review and provide feedback. It also was great to easily refer back to previous versions of work. It was very easy.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Responsiveness, professionalism, and quality of work.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not at this stage, the process could have been faster, however, we were all new to the Brand principles, and reflecting back I'm sure we will have the confidence on the direction for future work with the team.

Illiyin Studio delivered the website's copy and structure. This was the first website we deployed, and the feedback we received about the look was positive. The designs helped us give our brand a modern, sleek, and professional look.

What challenge were you trying to address with Illiyin Studio?

I hired Illiyin Studio to redesign the FlowState mobile app. I wasn’t happy with the previous design by another designer. This was a complicated app that had a lot of functionality that advanced users could take advantage of. However, I wanted to make it easy for new users to start using the app without having to learn a lot. Moreover, I wanted the interface to feel natural and targeted towards people who write notes by hand on paper notebooks and want them transcribed and saved to digital apps.

Illiyin Studio provided Figma designs for the screens of the main app flows. The main deliverables were to design the key UX flows.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Illiyin Studio turned around feedback pretty much within 24 hours. That was really impressive. The new designs addressed all my feedback and even improved on it. They really understood what the app was about and what I wanted. Moreover, sometimes they provided multiple options for how to design a specific part, such as the onboarding tutorial. Then, I told them which elements from different solutions I liked, and they were able to combine them together into a final solution.

How did Illiyin Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

Illiyin Studio’s project management was actually amazing. I don’t say that often. They really understood my app and my goals, and they delivered on time. In fact, even before I confirmed the engagement, they did a bunch of work for free to show what they could do. That was really impressive.We communicated via email and messaging apps.

Illiyin Studio’s communication, design skills, and integrity were impressive. The fact that they did some work upfront for free to demonstrate what they could do was really impressive to me.
