Ideometry was incredibly thorough in understanding of our competitive positioning, including data-driven challenges to any claim you proffer. Ideometry could have been more forceful in project managing the end customer. Based on what we have seen in our portfolio projects with them, they are doing so now.

• We have a brand new website that everyone loves. Our Java-related errors have all been resolved (which was a problem on the old site) and it's really easy to navigate and find information (another problem with our old site). It's a little early to tell if metrics like time on page etc have improved because the site only went live 2 weeks ago, but we're very happy with the outcome.

Ideometry was asked to "get smart fast" about the highly nuanced subject of assistive technology, DE&I and workplace accommodations, and produce respectful, engaging and authoritative content. Two distinct audiences, consumers and enterprise organizations, would engage with the content in both physical and digital spaces. Deliverables included a modestly refreshed visual brand expression, spec sheets, use cases, blogs and web copy.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Delivering two dozen tangible market-facing assets, launching three multi-touch awareness campaigns and generating vast web content for a soon-to-be new site.

Ideometry's model of working against a retainer supports both long-term planning and emergent needs. One of two co-founders is engaged at all times, the account manager is always on top of what's in flight, status and what's to come, and moves things along at a pace dictated by the client. They're true to their word about timelines, and will shift as needed without missing a beat. For a client with a tiny in-house team, and a business with a shifting focus, this approach was essential.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Most impressive (and important) is the flexibility of their retainer model and having access to various team members with unique skills based on need. One month the demands may be on writing, another it may be on design or digital. Having access to a broad range of resources does not mean giving up deep skill or expertise.

There's nothing they need to improve on.

I am an executive at Phairify, Inc. We deliver a digital data and candidate exchange where healthcare professionals and employers rationally value and directly connect on jobs.

As a startup, we had a lot of work to do to define and promote our position in the healthcare recruiting market. We retained Ideometry for a variety of branding projects, including the development of short introduction videos to present our offering to key stakeholders.

Ideometry was recommended to us by another provider, and after working with them on a few smaller projects, we were certain they would deliver work product for us.

This particular video project followed a handful of interviews Ideometry conducted with Phairify managers to understand and clearly outline Phairify's offering and positioning. Ideometry then walked us through their proposed approach and collected feedback on the final project scope and specifics.

Our team worked directly with Ideometry's principals and content and design leads.

We have used the branding videos in different campaigns and presentations and audience reaction has been uniformly positive, highlighting the clarity and simplicity of the message and the attractive presentation (graphics and production) of the videos themselves.

We had weekly video meetings with the team, regular email communications, and worked against an agreed and clearly-defined work plan. The project was delivered on time with all questions and issues resolved to our satisfaction.

I remain impressed both by Ideometry's accessible engagement (we never encountered a challenge connecting with Ideometry when we needed to) and high-quality work product.

My current position is at a real estate platform. I’ve been a CMO at four different companies since 2015.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ideometry?

We needed help to determine the right positioning, build out the brand, and grow our marketing to acquire new customers and retain old ones.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ideometry acts as our marketing department. We outsource all of our marketing to them, and their team acts as our resources. Initially, we gave them a brief for every project work. Then, Ideometry came back and told us what they’d do in the scope of work. The first part of the engagement was looking at customers, stakeholders, investors, and possible prospects so they could figure out exactly who we are and who we’re selling to.

Currently, Ideometry is on a monthly retainer. They help us do whatever we need each month, including targeting, lead management, HubSpot management, and social media. They’ve also done brand identity work and designed and built our website.

The team has developed the website from scratch. They’ve designed the look and feel according to our brand identity. The site is informative; it has case studies, videos, and information on who we are, what solutions we offer, and what’s special about us. Moreover, the website helps us build awareness and serves as a place to drive all our traffic.

Additionally, we do cross-channel optimization, and Ideometry has worked on SEO as part of the website build.

What is the team composition?

For the monthly retainer, we have a dedicated team of eight copywriters, developers, project managers, and more. Additionally, we had a creative copywriter, content writer, and project manager on the website build.

How did you come to work with Ideometry?

I was forced to work with them because they’d already been hired. Initially, I wasn’t happy about working with an agency I didn’t know anything about. However, they turned out to be an excellent partner.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay about $150,000 annually on the retainer and media work. The project work is around $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with them in February 2015, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The quality of their work has helped us grow the business. We measure how efficient is the cost per lead and cost per click, and Ideometry has met or exceeded every metric we’ve ever given them. 

How did Ideometry perform from a project management standpoint?

They come in on time and on budget, and the team is 100% candid and transparent to work with. We regularly use email, Slack, and phone calls to communicate. We also have weekly calls to go over retainer hours, priorities, and what they’re working on. Overall, Ideometry keeps us apprized through Google Drive and Slack at our request.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Ideometry goes above and beyond. They have an excellent staff that always delivers. Their team works well with my internal team. If we need to pull the engineers in from our side, they still work well with different types of people. All in all, I can’t say enough good things about them. We can rely on them as our marketing department.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can’t think of anything I’d ask them to do differently. They’ve grown from when we first started working together.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them a good brief. They’ll do exactly what you ask for; if they have questions, they can make it better. Overall, we’re pleased to refer them.

We had no digital marketing strategy or infrastructure in place. Sales were a largely reactive process. We needed to drive more leads into the sales funnel, keep them moving towards a successful outcome, and track their progress along the way.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Ideometry presented in a start-up Accelerator we participated in, and came highly recommended by the Accelerator administrators.

We had prior contact with Ideometry and were quite aware at project commencement that our current marketing process was inadequate. At first Ideometry worked with us to design marketing assets for several email campaigns that were already underway using Mailchimp at our then-current CRM, Copper.

They also helped guide us in starting an Adwords and social media marketing campaign. We ultimately decided that Copper and Mailchimp were inadequate to properly track successful leads back to their source, and Ideometry guided the migration to Hubspot for both CRM and direct mail. Ideometry additionally helped us with conference asset design, including show banners and brochures.

We worked with many different people at Ideometry, including the Managing & Strategy Director, Art Director, Creative Director, and Project Manager, among others.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our LinkedIn campaign generated 11 new leads and over 125,000 views on our promotional video. Our Google Ad campaign generated 5 new leads, 21,500 impressions and over 1,100 new clicks on our marketing website. The creativity and quality of the asset design was very good.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had regularly scheduled meetings once a week during the main phase of the project, but our Marketing Lead was in regular communications with the Ideometry Project Manager.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We expected Ideometry's design team to be high quality and that certainly turned out to be the case. What was less certain going into the project is if a productive digital marketing strategy could be developed after only a few months of working together. It's still too early to know the full impact this strategy will have on the bottom line, but we're quite pleased with the strategy now in place.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Cost is always a factor. I can certainly appreciate the cost to provide this level of professional marketing and design services, but it's limiting our ability to continue working with Ideometry as much as we'd like in the future.

We started with stakeholder interviews and extensive work on personas and messaging specific to those personas. That led to brand iterations to refresh the brand pillars, voice, visual style, and various artifacts that drive brand touches, marketing materials, sales materials, and go-to-market strategy.

Finally, all of this was translated into a website re-design.

The entire company was extremely happy with the brand refresh, the introduction of an intentional visual language for the company, and the new website has received great reviews from customers, employees, partners, and investors.

There are a few places where we wish the project iterations could have been faster, but overall we are happy with the time it took and the outcome.

We're a software company with about 80 employees. Our products are used by professional developers and teams and to build and ship mobile experiences for their customers and employees. I lead the Marketing organization, which today includes around 11 people and encompasses developer relations, demand generation, and product and content marketing.

When we hired Ideometry, our first and main motivation was to put together a digital marketing strategy, particularly through the use of PPC and other paid media. We had no in-house expertise in digital marketing or paid media and thought it would be better to work with an agency as opposed to hiring someone full-time.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Ideometry was referred to me by a Boston-area CMO who had led marketing at a number of B2B tech companies. We liked them because they were a "full stack" marketing agency, with expertise in a variety of areas, including digital marketing, creative services and design, and marketing automation. In fact, they were a Hubspot certified agency, which was great because we had standardized Hubspot for marketing automation.

Ideometry started by reviewing our existing PPC campaigns to see how they were performing. They quickly identified instances of click fraud, which saves us thousands in potentially lost dollars if we had kept those campaigns going. Ideometry then put together a comprehensive paid media strategy and a proposed budget that we put in place shortly thereafter. After that initial project, they helped us with a wide range of initiatives: from landing page design and development to creative services, email marketing, UTM best practices and web analytics, lead qualification, and more. They were effectively an extension of our team and helped with both strategy and hands-on work.

In the early days, we primarily interfaced with Josh and Charles, the two founders. We later worked with some of their project managers on day-to-day tasks.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

In general Ideometry did a great job across the board. They were a vital part of our marketing organization, particularly in the early days when we were very lean and were not fully staffed across all functions.

Very effective. We held weekly sync meetings, and they did a good job of managing us to make sure the pace of work kept up.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The range of skills that they deliver. They are truly a full stack agency and can cover just about any marketing-related needs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Towards the end, we increasingly relied on Ideometry for help with design and creative work (website design, print collateral, motion graphics, etc.). The quality of their early work was very good. But as time went on, we felt like the quality of the design delivery dropped considerably. I'm not sure if they were trying to scale up their design capacity and had to farm out some of the work to other less skilled designers, but it ultimately became a deciding factor for us to find a dedicated design agency where the quality was likely to be higher and more consistent.
