BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

At the time I was the director of digital media and technology for a professional baseball league called the American Association of Professional Baseball.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Iceberg Web Design, and what were your goals?

We wanted to create a mobile-friendly website that served as a landing page to key revenue drivers for our organization including ticket sales, merchandise sales, and streaming subscribers.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We shortlisted 5-7 companies that were both local and national brands. From there we weighed the pros and cons of each and felt the strongest about Iceberg because of their customer service.

We had a pretty straightforward transfer from one website to a new one. They started with a kick-off call to understand our needs then they did a deep dive into how our website was originally structured. After that, they took the time to thoughtfully build out our website based on our needs and transferred over the thousands of blog posts we already had on our website. All of this happened within the WordPress ecosystem.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had probably 3-4 people that were helping us with this project. One was a client relationship manager, another was a project manager, one was a designer, and the last one was a web developer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our old website was outdated and frankly in shambles. We had minimal data from it and none of it was optimized for anything. Now we have an awesome, marketing-first website.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

They primarily used email, google docs, google drive, and weekly meetings to keep us updated on the progress of our website.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their customer service is top-notch.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Our loading time on our home page is a bit slow. Additionally, as we shift from desktop to mobile some things get moved around quite a bit and throw off the design of the site.
