Please describe your company and your position there.

Gas Key Cage is a company that designed, built and introduced self-service key cages for gas cylinder exchange to the EU and US market. Key Cage is installed in parking slots, in areas in front of petrol stations, supermarkets and other trade points. In order to use the device, a client needs to buy a suitable key in the trade point where the Key Cage is installed.

There are several kinds of keys and they are offered at different prices. Each kind defines a different cylinder type that is being exchanged. For example: a client who has an 11kg cylinder buys the A key for price specified by a given trade point. Then, having the key, s/he goes to the device with an empty cylinder and using the key s/he may exchange the empty cylinder for a full one. This process does not require the participation of a shop employee and it is carried out by the client single-handedly.

The involvement of a trade point in the sale of the key allows to manage the gas price in the process of cylinder exchange and thereby to leave the sales commission for the trade point. This model does not generate costs related to the operation of the device by employees. I'm responsible for R&D projects.

For what projects/services did your company hire Hungry Cherry, and what were your goals?

Our project was to introduce a new device designed to sell the keys to our cages without any supervision and upgrade our gas cages with an IoT device creating an IoT network. We hired Hungry Cherry to create an online platform for remote sales monitoring, customer management, logistics and integration of this platform with our new devices and smart gas cages.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Hungry Cherry was recommended to us as a competent and effective R&D software agency when we were looking for a contractor. This recommendation was so strong that it required no further consideration.

Hungry Cherry built a web platform for our B2B customers and mobile app for retail users. This platform was connected to our IoT network and our self-service key selling devices in order to collect data and manage devices. Hungry Cherry was working closely with our internal team of engineers. Technologies used: PHP, JavaScript, Laravel.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Despite many changes in scope, they managed to complete the project within budget and deadline. We are satisfied with the results and all the products delivered.

We were working closely so developers from Hungry Cherry were constantly in touch with our internal team. They work in sprints but are very flexible. This was an R&D project so the scope and our approach changed many times and they were fully capable of adjusting to our expectations. They supported us at every stage of the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Creativity and forward thinking were Hungry Cherry's most impressive qualities. They always had ideas on how to solve the problems we encountered during the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We can’t find any areas for improvement.

LINK4 is a pioneer and leader in direct insurance in Poland. We are the laureate of many awards and distinctions. We have been operating on the Polish market since January 2003. We are the first insurance company that offers Polish drivers direct motor insurance, i.e. insurance over the phone or Internet.

While at the beginning of our activity we only offered basic car insurance, now our offer also includes: home and travel insurance. Since 2010 LINK4 cooperates with agents and sells insurance through banks. I’m Communication Department Director in LINK4 and I was responsible for the Polisomat project.

For what projects/services did your company hire Hungry Cherry, and what were your goals?

The aim of the Polisomat project was to build a self-service kiosk where people could buy travel insurance. It was placed at the airport in Warsaw (Modlin). We hired Hungry Cherry to implement the customer application that was running on this device and an admin panel (both Web-based applications).

Scope of Hungry Cherry work: UX/UI design, frontend development, backend development, IoT integration. Their job included: designing UI, developing customer application (both frontend and backend), integrating customer application with kiosk devices (printer, card terminal, RaspberryPi etc), developing backoffice application, maintenance.

They used JavaScript for frontend and PHP for backend.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project was delivered on schedule and all deliverables were met. We were very satisfied with the project results.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Although another company was involved in the project, the communication was very efficient and effective. It was always smooth and clear. Our communication was based on e-mails, phones and regular face-to-face meetings. Our deadlines were always met.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Flexibility, fresh ideas. Their ability to go outside the predefined scope and adjust to new challenges was impressive. thinking out of the box. Although they were responsible only for the software part, they took over the entire project, when the company responsible for the rest of the project ended its cooperation with us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No. our requirements were met.

Grupa Żywiec is associated with the HEINEKEN Group, the largest beer producer in Europe and the most international beer company in the world. Our company is made of people who love beer.

Every day, we are working with our clients and partners to make the taste of Żywiec, Warka, Heineken, Desperados, EB and many others available to beer lovers. In 2017 Grupa Żywiec S.A. together with COMP S.A. started a project of a digital platform connecting FMCG producers and retailers.

The platform goal was to help small retailers maintain in a competitive market and increase the sales of consumer goods. I was one of the project managers in the digital commerce department. My role was to coordinate M/platform project, keep it on schedule, set goals, priorities and requirements.

We hired Hungry Cherry to create a new frontend for our digital product M/Platform. Scope of works included UX workshops with users, UX design, UI design and implementing frontend. The business goal was to increase usability of our platform and drive sales with FMCG promotions.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

According to the surveys the users satisfaction rate grew significantly after the change of UX and UI of the platform.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our communication with Hungry Cherry (HC) was based on regular video meetings where HC presented their work week by week. At the UI and frontend development stage meetings were in the form of workshops Hungry Cherry collected feedback and even introduced changes "live".

The main communication tool was e-mail + video meetings. The prototypes were made available by Axure, designs by InVision, and the frontend was made available online on the provider's servers. Schedule was kept and we were aware of project progress at all times.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive thing about Hungry Cherry was their flexibility and efficiency. There were many times when we changed UI/UX during video meetings so we didn’t have to wait days to see the effect of changes in design proposed by us. It helped run our project smoothly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Next time I would recommend to improve collaboration with HC customers by giving customer like us access to more details about current tasks (for example with task management platform) not only milestones.
