We hired House of Giants to translate our XD web design concepts into a flexible, easily editable WordPress website with a backend setup that allowed us to easily update and create new web content. As a branding firm, we wanted the ability to create on the fly while maintaining the design integrity of the site. They built out our home page, case study pages, and contact page with the every ounce of our desired flexibility. Along the way, they also came alongside us to provide best practice consulting and recommendations for consideration.

• At the end of the day, the result was a beautiful, functional, and highly flexible website that brought our design vision to life with beautiful responsiveness. Our owner was over the moon about the outcome, and she's a very particular person, so the degree of happiness we feel over the finished product speaks volumes.

Kelly did a great job of managing the project to meet our needs. While I prolonged the project with additional asks and adjustments, she kept swift pace and turnaround. I knew that she would guide me on the journey, which was invaluable given that my specialty is print design rather than responsive web design. The thoughtful planning to the approach — especially given the initial turnaround time — was greatly appreciated.

Our website was two different WordPress themes merged onto one domain. It didn't reflect our house of brands and felt very disjointed. The backend was heavily customized and we didn't have development skills in-house to manage.

We were looking for a solution that met our brand positioning of high-performance, and something that could easily be managed by our Marketing Team.

We connected with House of Giants through Groundwrk. Our goal was to find an agency that was creative and willing to have fun with us and breathe some personality into our website.

We had a discovery call to discuss the scope of work and goals, then invited the team in for kick-off with the larger Sashco team.

During this initial kick-off, we discussed where we've been as a company, and where we want to go. We also reviewed designs to determine what our team was drawn to, and what we didn't like.

Following that, we had a functional requirement meeting to discuss what functionality we needed the website to have.

Then we did design mockups and once those were approved we moved into development of the WordPress website.

A project manager was our main point of contact, then we worked directly with one of the developers on the development portion of the project as needed, with a second developer on calls that needed more discussion.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our team loves the updated design, and the backend is so much easier for our team to manage in-house. We just launched the site so we don't have metrics to share at this point in time, but the overall user experience is much better, and we've been getting compliments from customers.

We had weekly status update emails that went out every Friday to keep track of deliverables and timelines. After designs were approved and we neared our launch, we had weekly stand-ups along with the status emails to ensure things were running smoothly.

As always with website launches, we had some bugs but they have been quick to help us fix and adjust as needed!

House of Giants took our Figma design files and brought them to life in WordPress. They move quickly and hit all of the deliverable dates. Critical to the project was the execution of our SEO strategy, integration into Typeform, implementation of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, and building a clean and easy-to-use content experience in Wordpress.

I only interacted with the lead developer.

We are only days past the launch date, so it is a little hard to quantify the results from the new site. However, everything was delivered on time and one spec. The team was a delight to work with and look forward to continuing to use House of Giants for future projects.

I’m the marketing director for Untapped Learning, an education startup in Colorado. We work with middle school, high school, and college students with executive function challenges, such as ADHD, dyslexia, anxiety, and depression. We needed a new website. We had a Wix or Weebly site and were in line with our competitors, so we wanted to step ahead a little bit.

Additionally, we wanted the site to look legitimate and on-brand so parents would be interested in our services. Nonetheless, we wanted to avoid much of the academic and medical feel that many of our competitors have.

House of Giants built our website from scratch using WordPress. It was a collaborative effort; we had a few vendors working together. House of Giants did all the development and worked with others to create the design and flow we were shooting for.

It’s been tough for them because we recently went through a rebranding process, so comparisons are kind of had because our name changed. However, our website traffic has increased in general. Also, families have told us in general conversations that they found our site when they were searching for executive function coaching, and that it stood out among others.

How did House of Giants perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s been great. Our communication is streamlined with Kelly, which is uncommon.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They do a great job at getting to know the brand and investing in our collaboration. Also, their communication is great, and they make sure that their direction is aligned with ours. If something isn’t matching, they don’t hesitate to pause and reevaluate at any point.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear with what you want and ask for it — they’re there to help you, and they do a wonderful job. Also, be open to hearing them if they have suggestions. House of Giants knows what they’re doing, and their ideas may be better than what you thought you wanted.

We were in the process of launching a brand new native mobile app that would feature new designs from our previous web-based app. So we wanted our new marketing website not only to have a refresh, but also match our new app designs.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Daniel, our web designer, was actually a Macrostax user so he had heard of our company. We sent out an email blast noting that we were looking for a web designer and Daniel replied. We were impressed by his clean designs and the fact that he already understood our product.

Daniel was super easy to work with and flexible in communication. We had a kick off call with all of our team members for the project. I sent a document outlining an estimated timeline, breaking the project out into different sections. Each week, we would revise Daniel's latest designs and communicate revisions and feedback via Google docs and Slack.

We primarily worked with just Daniel since we were only looking for design.

Daniel's designs were very thorough and self-explanatory. Once we handed off design to our web developer, we did not really have any questions regarding how it should be built or the files required. The new site looks beautiful and very on-brand.

Daniel was incredibly easy to work with. He was very thorough in incorporating all our feedback and very quick with his turnarounds. We didn't have any problems whatsoever with communication.

I was surprised to learn about the suite of services they offered. I would have loved to use the web development team to complete the entire project for us, but we had already had someone lined up before we hired Daniel for the design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Prior to hiring House of Giants, our website was a mess. We had moved back and forth between different platforms, so we needed to start over completely. Their team came in and helped us set up a new WordPress website from scratch. 

We wanted a fresh, clean, and simple look that had unique, eye-catching graphics, and House of Giants delivered on that. They redid our homepage and incorporated a picture of a helicopter mid-flight. They also made sure that whatever imagery we had on the website didn’t overpower all of the other important information. 

House of Giants also developed the site in a way that made it easy for us to edit and navigate the content. Their team created a dropdown menu and different pages for each of our 35 programs and methods. Each program is kind of unique and has its own history, so we asked them to include that information as well through an interactive timeline.

House of Giants is now providing ongoing maintenance services along with the continuous addition of more features and information to the site. They are also currently creating an on-site calculator that could compute how much an in-flight nurse or paramedic would make on the job since we are facing challenges with hiring people along those lines.

The project began in April 2020 and the website went live in November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The general feedback around the website has been positive. The original site that we had was kind of sad and messy, and House of Giants has given us a fresh start through a super clean, easy-to-use website. If I were to put a score on their impact and what they delivered, it would be close to 100% for sure.

How did House of Giants perform from a project management standpoint?

House of Giants was on time for pretty much everything. The only delays we experienced were with the creation of the web pages of the air transport methods since that required a bit of digging deeper. We communicated via email and Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

House of Giants was really forward-thinking in their design, but they made sure that everything on the website was easy to use.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing I can think of. I really enjoyed working with them.
