The Discovery process consisted of 12 meetings in total, to design and prototype the custom products for us. The main deliverables were:

- MVP Definition (What are the core functionalities of the project necessary to provide value to the user)

- User flowchart (How users interact and navigate through my application)

- Figma prototype (A navigable prototype of the application screens, this is the materialization of the idea and it is what will later be developed in the development stage)

- Closed budget for the development stage of the product designed in this process.

Once we finished the discovery process mid October, we decided to hire Hit Ocean for the development stage (which is currently ongoing).

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The most important outcome that demonstrate success for the DIscovery process was that we decided to continue working with them for the development phase, when we had no obligation to do so. 

The discovery phase left us with a really strong Figma prototype for our MVP, which we have shared with potential customers in sales meetings and the feedback has been very positive. The team at Hit Ocean understood very quickly our vision and needs, and iterared very fast on to create the end product.

100% they always delivered on time. They had a product manager assigned to our project, and we met with her twice a week during 6 weeks which allowed us to make constant project. By the end of the planned 12 weeks, we had accomplished our goal and had all the deliverables that were promised. 

I cannot stress enough how responsive their team was, and how well we were able to make progress through the whole process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

A few things:

• The cultural fit with everyone on their team was great, I really enjoyed all of our meetings. 
• Their push back on some of the ideas I was bringing to the table really helped me rethink some of the functionalities for our product, and at the end it resulted in a much better product (ie, thanks to their push back, we focused on the most important features for the MVP and left the "nice to have" for later)
• Their timeliness and responsiveness, as mentioned in the previous section

Are there any areas for improvement or something Hit Ocean could have done differently?

I think the initial budget estimate could have been a little more conservative on their end. The final development budget (provided at the end of the discovery process) was 30% higher than the original estimate. That being said, even with this increase, the final budget was competitive with all the other options (providers) I had talked with.

• Communication throughout the whole process alongside the key team members. 
• Development of the brief alongside the client and designers to ensure all functionalities were according to brief and in line with the client's KPIs for the project.

Their team was highly flexible, as the client did take extended review timings. Despite that, the team showcased great adaptability and flexibility towards the project and client's availability for reviews. Key notes and points to action were also shared after each meeting which made the whole process smooth and run without any issues.

First we made a prototype of the platform. This prototype was really advanced with high results. They made an incredible study of how it should look so the student would feel confortable and how it should work to be practical. There was a big database behind all of the videos (over 3000) and they manage to make it hugely practical and easy to work with.
