In 2020, we were a new business when we approached Herdl to create the branding and website.

They produced our brand Identity which included:

• logo
• colourways
• style guide

Following this, they produced a content managed WordPress website with beautiful animations which set our site apart from most others, in this industry.

Also the site won many design awards which has helped get us off to a great start.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

From the SEO and PPC work our business has grown substantially over the years and we are never short on enquiries. Thanks to the work done by Herdl we have been able to employ staff and expand operations.

Customer service is excellent. Herdl are very attentive and respond quickly to all of our requests.

We have never built a website before and they held our hands through each step, making us feel very reassured.

We wouldn't change anything as we are super happy with our choice and the way our business has developed and continues to develop.

I’m the marketing manager of a company that designs and fits retail spaces for various brands.

What challenge were you trying to address with Herdl?

We wanted to increase our online brand awareness and create more ads that attracted the customer base clientele we wanted to bring into our business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Herdl has set up various PPC marketing campaigns for us that target different areas within our business and audiences we're trying to attract to convert into website views. Our goal is also to convert those web views into users contacting us through email or phone. We create the campaigns' creative assets, and Herdl creates and optimizes the ads to ensure they reach the audience demographic we're seeking. 

Herdl also helps with our SEO strategy, although our PPC campaigns are their primary responsibility.

My company engaged with Herdl through a recommendation from an internal teammate.

We spend around £1,000 (approximately $1,300 USD) monthly, which yearly represents around £12,000 (approximately $15,000 USD), although our rates vary.

I don't know when our engagement with Herdl started since I'm new at my company, but we've been working together for various years.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I've received feedback from my internal team stating that Herdl is helping us hit the expected clientele that we want to attract to our business. Focusing on PPC advertising is worthwhile for our company because we've seen a difference in our online engagement and the potential clients who have contacted us.

How did Herdl perform from a project management standpoint?

Herdl sticks to budget, and if they need extra ad spending, they check in with us. Herdl is always on time and delivers detailed and comprehensive monthly reports covering all the digital marketing aspects they cover. We communicate through email, phone calls, and in-person meetings.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to highlight Ella (Client Success Specialist) and David (Revenue Operations Manager).

What did you find most impressive about them?

Herdl distinguishes for their friendly nature and how timely they take action on any queries we have. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything off the top of my head. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?c

I suggest telling Herdl all your business requirements upfront, and they'll help you as best they can. Be transparent regarding your goals and what you're trying to achieve.

I am the Digital Marketer at a London-based UX/UI agency. We work with SaaS and cybersecurity companies providing user experience and user interface design support.

For what projects/services did your company hire Herdl, and what were your goals?

We needed to completely revamp our SEO strategy, re-think and fix backend issues hampering our websites SEO optimisation.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Their team where incredibly friendly and informative, during the initial calls, they came across as really knowledgeable but also personable. When discussing their support it felt like they are out-of-the-box thinkers looking to find the gap in the marketing for our business. They were not pushy/salesy and presented their services in a really digestible way. Their pricing structures were slightly higher than other agencies but the overall package contained more services and precisely detailed their support.

The project began with the initial keyword research and detailed analysis of our website. They identified gaps in the market for which we could look to own, as well as provided a very detailed breakdown of what changes had to be made to optimises our website for SEO.

The initial outreach call after submitting our details to their websites was Client Services Manager David. We were then introduced to their Director Gareth who presented the personalised proposal on the work they would undertake. Once the project KO when have been working closely with David as well as Account Manager Ella.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since working with them, our page traffic has more than doubled compared from the time of this review to when we began working with them.

Communication is excellent, Ella and Dave respond in a timely manner and provide detailed updates on what progress they're making. They are also happy to help with any little questions even if it isn't covered with the SoW. They are simply very nice people!

The size of clients they have worked with for the size of their agency but also the solutions they produced for our challenges.

We're a leading fishing tackle retailer with a focus on carp fishing tackle, bait and accessories. We have a large physical store in the Midlands and an ecommerce site. I'm the Managing Director.

We hired Herdl for SEO services to boost our online sales. Our original goal was to increase our online sales by 30% in year one.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We shortlisted and spoke to a number of agencies who ranked on page one of Google for "SEO Agency". In our minds, this pre-qualified their SEO abilities. We chose Herdl because they were very easy to talk to and listened keenly when we described our business, our industry and the aims and ambitions we have for the company. This was reflected in the questions they asked and the case studies they shared. in their proposal they demonstrated a really solid understanding of our business and marketplace, and outlined in plain English how their SEO strategy would align with our goals.

There was a research phase at the beginning followed by a presentation of their findings, recommendations and refined SEO strategy. Following this was the setup stage and then ongoing work. Each month we receive a detailed report with insights and a written summary of the work carried out, and work planned for the next month. We also have a live dashboard with key metrics. Every quarter we have a meeting to review progress.

During the past 2 years we've worked with 4 members of the Herdl team. The Client Services Manager is my first line of contact but I've also spoken directly to the Digital Director, SEO Specialist and Managing Director. All of the team are in senior positions and extremely knowledgeable but also really patient and ensure I understand exactly what work is being done and the benefits it delivers (sparing me the tech jargon which I greatly appreciate!)

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Since working with Herdl we're now ranking for many keyphrases on page one of Google but more importantly, we've seen the conversions from this work result in a dramatic year-on-year increase in turnover of 115%, far exceeding our original goal!

The Client Services Manager is very proactive and keeps me in the loop with regular calls and emails. I also like it that they don't limit their input to strictly SEO and provide suggestions for how we can increase conversions too. They understand that the ultimate goal is not rankings but revenues.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What I like best about Herdl is that even though all the team are obviously very experienced and at the top of their game. They never try to bamboozle me with jargon and buzzwords. They communicate their subject knowledge in a way that's easy for anyone to understand. There's not many agencies you can say that about.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They're occasionally late with the monthly reports but as these are hand-written (not automated), I don't mind waiting from time to time as they usually have some good insight plus I have the live dashboard if I want to check rankings etc
