I’m the head of project management for a software development company. We develop and design mobile applications, websites, and web apps, and we work with some partners to help us with that.

We were facing a lack of available resources, so we asked Herbertus for help.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Herbertus was our outsourced partner for one of our web development projects; their team was in charge of the design and development work. The design phase started with a kickoff call with our client to discuss their vision regarding their website’s design, during which we brainstormed different ideas.

The design process took quite some time because we required the client’s approval, so we iterated with them until we reached their desired design for the site. Once we got the approval for the design, Herbertus started developing the website from scratch. Throughout the process, they worked on the different pages and helped us optimize the website. As for the technology stack, they used JavaScript, WordPress, and some third-party integrations.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a UI/UX designer and a developer.

How did you come to work with Herbertus?

One of my colleagues recommended them. They were flexible and easy to communicate with, and their price was very competitive. Additionally, their portfolio was very good, so we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around €15,000 (approximately $16,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked from October 2021–October 2022 — the project took us a year to complete.

One of our success indicators was the quality of Herbertus work.

How did Herbertus perform from a project management standpoint?

Herbertus’ project management was very good. We divided the project into two phases — design and development — and assigned milestones to each phase. Herbertus reached those milestones on time and on budget.

Moreover, Herbertus communicated with my colleagues and me as if they were our external team; we had a very close and flexible collaboration. We used Slack to communicate and had weekly calls with their team. Additionally, they used Figma to create and share their designs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Herbertus flexibility and project accountability were impressive. They truly cared about what they would deliver, ensuring that the end client was satisfied with the result.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would have been great if we had used more project management tools to engage.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communication is key. Have a few initial calls with them to discuss your ideas and what you want to achieve so that it gets easier for Herbertus to understand your requirements. Additionally, leverage regular meetings throughout the project to review their work and progress.

I looked for several companies and made a tender for this services. After reviewing 4 offers i decided to work with Hebertus because i liked their style and project references. Furthermore the pricing offered was competitive.

The whole process has been very well organised: from step 1 to the end the roadmap was very clear at all time and we had several video calls to discuss and fine tune the deliverables in a cosy atmosphere

They were very professional and competent, I highly reccomend. They met the deadline I set at the beginning within the budget set.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would recommend to improve the operational documents template drafting. I think this might have been something new so i took a little more effort for both sides

Herbertus provides us with digital marketing services. They cover everything — their team handles our social media marketing on LinkedIn and SEO. They’ve designed our banners and social media content. Not only that, but they also support our organizational efforts. 

Herbertus has also provided us with web design services using Figma. For the branding aspect of the partnership, Herbertus has provided us with printed banners for our events. They’ve also designed our t-shirts and related event materials. They’ve provided us with great branding materials.

My friend, who was also a customer of Herbertus, introduced me to them.

We’ve invested a little under €5,000 (approximately $4,900 USD).

Our ongoing relationship began in December 2021.

Even though we haven’t invested much money, we’ve quickly increased our online rankings. We’re experiencing an influx of customers.

We’ve also gotten a lot of compliments about the designs Herbertus has provided for our branding — they’ve perfectly translated our organizational DNA into a brand.

Their team is extremely responsive. Typically, we communicate through Telegram.

They are a one-stop shop. Their team has incredible energy and positivity that helps get us through challenging times. They’ve helped us push through problems, and we’ve become good friends with them.

Honestly, I’m really happy with them, even though their team is small.

We divided the work into three structures:

1. Branding

These were the stages we went 1by1 and once confirmed - moved forward.

Project management was good, we had tight deadline (several months for whole complex project). Had intermediate updates and quick communication channels to answer questions from both sides.

We liked that Milda took personal care of the whole project; she has a good creative and managerial mindset which makes Herbertus "one stop". She also took extra mile for the website to look beautiful by making the image content for it.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Herbertus could have done differently?

Different for every client but creating a communication channel quicker than email would be beneficial, we created it midway project I guess. This would allow to ask/answer any outstanding questions or doubt quickly.
