For what projects/services did your company hire Haeresis?

In an effort to establish a web presence to connect with potential clients in other markets, I solicited the services of Haeresis to create a site that would be a good representation of my services.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I had been in contact with several web site creators. However, I was looking for something that would not be sterile. In review of other projects completed by Haeresis, I liked the attention to detail and wanted the same experience.

We had a series of discovery meetings to discuss, the intent, purpose, and goals of the website. Afterwards there were recommendations and suggestions made about how specific factors played into each component. I was then provided a mock up to review the site and to provide input. There were various touchpoints along the way to advise of progress.

The website has a conveys the desired message and has the capacity for additions as I grow the business.

It was effective. There were discovery meetings and touch points along the way to ensure everyone was on the same page.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The time taken to understand the needs of the customer, and to confirm satisfaction with the resulting design. I did get a great finished product!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Potentially the timing of completion could have been quicker, but in this case it was more about quality.

I am the owner of Jewel's Ear, a listening and friendship service. We provide a safe and confidential outlet for callers to make meaningful human connection through conversation.

Haeresis was hired to design and create my company's website, Jewelsear.com. I also used Haeresis's services to for hosting of the site and to migrate two of my other existing websites.

How did you select Haeresis and what were the deciding factors?

Aaron from Haeresis was referred to me by a friend. I viewed their portfolio online then gave him a call. Aaron's patience with my questions and flexibility helped me decide to use the company's services.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

I needed a landing page for Jewelsear.com for potential callers to be able to visit to find out about my services and to use the site to connect to my Click4advisor account (the phone service platform).

First I did a call with Aaron to ask questions about his services and my project. Once we decided to work together, we scheduled a discovery session. During the discovery session, Aaron asked me more detailed questions about my vision for my business and for the website. We went over ideas for design elements and link functionalities.

After the discovery session, Aaron sent a spreadsheet with key words to relate to my site. I confirmed the key words that we would move forward with. From there, he sent me 3 mockups for the site. I chose the one I wanted to move forward with, some adjustments were made at my request, and we went from there.

Once the site was completely built out, I reviewed it, and Aaron and I had another conversation so I could provide feedback. Aaron made the changes to the site based on my feedback and published the site.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I was concerned about how I could simplify the steps for creating an account through the call service platform. Aaron was able to add in a short 4-step guide with image popups to make it less confusing for callers.

The workflow was smooth.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was pleased with the level of creativity used on the design. The team was responsive and kept the lines of communication open.

I’m a travel hobbyist and I go around to visit local restaurants, wineries, and breweries.

What challenge were you trying to address with Haeresis?

I’ve been traveling for a while, and I have my own Instagram page dedicated to my hobby. I wanted to create a logo for myself and get some nice graphics for my feed to make it look a little less clumsy. That is when I decided to reach out to Haeresis.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Haeresis and I first talked over the phone about what I was hoping to accomplish. We went over my preferences were in terms of design and my previous experience with other designers. I believe they also tried to gauge my personality in that initial phone call in order to create a product that reflected what I wanted. I also answered a questionnaire to inform them of my expectations, motivations, and budget. 

Their team didn’t have to do any in-depth research because this project was very simple and straightforward. There wasn’t a whole lot that I was asking for, just something that exemplified an upbeat, outgoing, and positive vibe as a reflection of my personality and my adventures. I wanted people to look at my logo and easily understand what I’m trying to convey. 

They sent me back some initial proofs after that call. I gave them my feedback and told them of any minor changes I wanted done, and they were able to deliver a final product that I was really happy with.

How did you come to work with Haeresis?

Haeresis was recommended by a friend of mine. I looked at some of their works on Facebook and on Instagram and really liked what I saw. From what I could tell, a lot of their clients have had a positive experience with them, so I decided to give them a shot. It also helped that they put a lot of time and attention into our initial interactions. Aaron was very upfront about his process and got back to me fairly quickly. 

How much have you invested with them?

It was a really small job. It only cost around a few hundred dollars. 

What is the status of this engagement?

I first reached out to them in September 2021. The whole process of putting together a design went on for several weeks and concluded in mid to late October 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I was able to launch the logo and graphics on the anniversary of my travel page. After I put the new designs up, my engagement went up by 85%.

The number of responses that I got for it was tremendous and much more than I expected. Everything was just exceptionally well-received among people whom I’ve met over the last few years. Some of my contacts, and even local businesses, reached out to me to say that they were really impressed with Haeresis’s work. 

How did Haeresis perform from a project management standpoint?

I was really impressed with how they handled the project. I’ve handled similar small projects in my career and I know how easy it can be to overlook details, but Haerasis treated me like I was just like any other client, regardless of the size of the work. They wanted every bit of information and detail, and I really appreciated how thoroughly they laid things out. 

We communicated over the phone and via Instagram. They flexibly accommodated my preferred method of correspondence. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Haeresis is really strong when it comes to being client-focused. A lot of the graphic designers that I had previously spoken to would approach me with their art styles and what they could possibly make for me, but this team really directed their attention on how I wanted it done, what I was looking for, and what will make me happy. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I can't think of anything they could’ve done better. I had gone back to them for some adjustments, and they were absolutely receptive to that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The best way to help Haerasis is to help yourself. This means that when they ask you questions or seek your input, you must always be upfront and forthcoming because the vision you started out with may not necessarily be the vision you’re really looking for. Be open to that process of change and communicate well with their team to get the outcome you want.
