We hired GreenMellen to help us with design and marketing services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

GreenMellen designed and developed our website from scratch. We gave them some general examples of what we were looking for, but the design was 100% up to them — they used their artistic ability.

They were instrumental in working with our team to create and capture what we were looking for in an audience. They were very receptive to hearing what we wanted and developed all the written work of the site. We worked hand in hand to tweak it and get to a place where we were happy with all the language and wording used.

Currently, they’re spearheading our marketing campaigns. They’re pushing through blogs and keeping us active in our social media pages to make sure that we’re staying on the forefront of Linkedin, Facebook, and Twitter — our online presence is really important.

I believe someone in our team noticed a website that was very appealing and checked who had designed it. We found out it was made by GreenMellen, so we decided to contact them.

We started working together in March 2017, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

GreenMellen brought our website up to date. Now, we use the site as one of our marketing tools. It has been really helpful for recruiting employees because people look at our website to see what kind of company we are. The traffic that we’re seeing in it is higher than before our engagement. The page has become a very interactive and user-friendly tool, and it’s really helpful to our employees and customers.

How did GreenMellen perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate via email and have Zoom meetings if we need to discuss something.

What did you find most impressive about them?

GreenMellen is very passionate about what they do. They’re very dedicated to their work and listen to our needs and expectations, which is important. There’s not a lot of wasted time. They’re very precise and aware that we’re busy doing our jobs. They're very respectful of our time and really professional — they do a great job.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m sure there’s always a continuous improvement, but from my standpoint, I’m 100% satisfied with GreenMellen’s work. Every time I give them a project or objective, they come back with multiple solutions. They're really excellent and professional — I have nothing but praise for them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be very definitive in your request and trust the process. GreenMellen is excellent at what they do. They listen and understand what you’re looking for, and they really drill down without wasting time. They’re very mindful of the time and very precise.

To have a creative and technical resource to create a site for us that was responsive, contemporary and practical for job applicants to and clients to interact with us.

How did you select GreenMellen and what were the deciding factors?

They came recommended by another firm we knew and the leadership seemed knowledgeable and easy to work with.

We outlined our basic functionality needs and put them in touch with our 3rd party vendors (such as Salesforce). We then reviewed initial concepts and went a few rounds getting the aesthetics right. We worked with our own copywriter and were able to create wireframes that worked well.

They built the site in WP and incorporated some new features we didn't have before. We signed up for their ongoing monitoring service.

We worked with the 2 principals, developer, designer and 1 support team member.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Hard to tell, we didn't have much to measure really. I think we ultimately got a good site. We were nervous for a few rounds when we thought the creative had missed the mark but ultimately they got us there.

Time lines and tools were good. I was a little confused with the tool, but probably because it was new to me.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Mickey, the owner, was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I'm very impressed by him as a vendor and as a fellow business owner.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think Ali the CD should have very closely monitored the initial comps of the site and approved them before we saw them. She admitted they were not on brief and did not count that round against us.

I’m the executive director of a nonprofit that serves the children of inmates.

What challenges were you trying to address with GreenMellen?

We were looking to do a complete rebranding, including everything from our messaging strategy to a new logo and website redesign.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provided us with a complete rebranding proposal. They began by interviewing our staff to learn more about our programs. They then provided us with a messaging template that could be used in brochures, online, and for grant applications to make our messaging more consistent. 

They walked us through a logo redesign and designed logos for each of our main programs as well as an organization logo. Finally, we redesigned our website. We picked a template walked them through a mapping process. We determined what headings and different pages we needed. They also helped us set up our donations system of the backend. I believe the website was built on WordPress. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with Mickey (Co-Founder & Technical Director) and Ali (Creative Managing Partner) primarily, but there were about three additional people on the team. 

How did you come to work with GreenMellen?

We worked with them to build our initial website about 10 years ago, so we had a working relationship. We asked them for a proposal for this brand messaging project, and what they came back with was really high quality. 

How much have you invested in them? 

We spend between $10,000–$12,000. They gave us a competitive rate because we’re a nonprofit. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our contract for this project in November 2018, and we completed the project in spring 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen a significant increase in web traffic. We also saw an increase in donations the year after the rebrand, so I think their work definitely contributed to that. 

How did GreenMellen perform from a project management standpoint? 

Their communication was excellent. They typically returned our calls or messages within a few hours. It was always clear who we needed to contact about different processes. They were invested in our success and went above and beyond to deliver a great experience. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re really engaged and connected with our team on a personal level. They’ve been great supporters of our mission, and it’s clear that they’re community-oriented. They’re not just about their bottom line.

I really can’t think of anything. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers? 

It’s easy to get sucked back into the day-to-day work of your business, but it’s important to prioritize your relationship with them when working together if you want a higher quality product.

I work for Southtree Commercial, and we are a full-service firm specializing in commercial construction, real estate, development, and property management. As a Program Manager, I work across all four divisions managing a variety of marketing projects.

We had four individual WordPress websites for each of our divisions with different brand names. We were in the process of rebranding and we needed to bring all divisions under one brand name and create one site. Our new logo had already been created so we needed a firm to help us design and develop a new site.

Their custom website design approach walked us through each step of the process from planning the sitemap to design to development.

I interacted with about five of their team members throughout the whole process. I worked the closest with Brooke D. (Project Manager) and Ashlea L. (Lead Developer).

How did you come to work with GreenMellen?

I was familiar with GreenMellen from WordPress Meetups I had attended over the years. I was very impressed with their work. For this project, we reviewed proposals from three different companies, and their proposal was the best fit for our needs.

What is the status of this engagement?

We kicked the project off in November 2019 and launched the website in July 2020. We are currently on a maintenance plan.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their team was committed to working with our team to make sure the design and development of the site was what we wanted. They knew we would be managing the site once it was launched and they were wonderful at providing screencast videos throughout the development process to make sure we had all the tools and information needed to manage the site.

How did GreenMellen perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project manager, Brooke D., was excellent at managing the project. She made sure we met deadlines and she followed up promptly to any questions we had. GreenMellen used an application called Teamwork, which was where we centralized most of our communication. We also spoke verbally every two weeks to make sure everyone was on the same page.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are an all-around great partner! Their team was extremely responsive to any feedback, questions, and requests.

Are there any areas they could improve?

GreenMellen has a well-developed method for building custom websites. They are very receptive to feedback and appreciate any questions or concerns you have.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It is important with any business partner to establish expectations in the beginning and keep consistent communication throughout the project. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, GreenMellen wants to make sure your needs are met and your project is a success.

I’m the head of digital advocacy in the public affairs department of a trade association that advocates on behalf of the copper industry and makes sure there’s alignment with the United Nations sustainable energy goals.

They launched and rebranded a website for us. Currently, they manage four of our websites. They have a multi-phase process, allowing us to work with much of their team. They handled design, development, strategic SEO optimization, and heat map tracking. From there, they also offer us impressive reporting through custom-built dashboards with real-time engagement tracking. They can be a full-service web development company and a strategic partner.

We work with 4–5 of their teammates on a daily basis.

One of my previous colleagues was partnered with them, so I inherited that relationship. We liked them because they had a family feel and really take care of their clients. That was evident in their portfolio.

In total, we’ve spent around $150,000. The price range is very good for the quality of service we receive.

We’ve worked together since September 2017.

They built us award-winning websites, so I don’t have anything but good things to say about them. The quality of work is fantastic. 

How did GreenMellen perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been very professional. The owners are very attentive project managers, assigning us a dedicated project manager early on. That person has since left the business, so we don’t have a specific account manager anymore. However, I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing either. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very tech-savvy but truly treat our team as part of their family. We commonly get quick advice on Slack that have improved our internal company. They’re genuine and friendly. That positive energy extends from their company to ours.

I can’t think of anything. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s okay to not know exactly what you want because they can be a strategic partner and make effective recommendations. They’re able to give advice on how to optimize your relationship. Future partners should take advantage of that assistance.

Our facility is a private owned medical practice that specializes in pain management. Our main campus facility is 12,000 sq. ft that attends to 180 patients per day, with 6 medical providers, that perform various medical procedures to combat pain related conditions. My main obligation is to facilitate between clinical and administrative operations that ultimatley produces quality care for our patient population.

We utilized GreenMellen for a complete over haul on our existing website. Our main focus with GreenMellen was to have a website product that was easy to navigate due to our older patient population, but also aesthetically appealing.

What were your goals for this project?

A major deliverable I was looking for when creating the website was "trust." Not only did we want an easy, responsive website to navigate, we had to create a sense of authentic and caring providers. We capitalize by having GreenMellen using professional photography of our providers to instill a positive connection with the website end user.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I had a selective criteria that needed to met. I interviewed (3) other local designers to understand the firm's capabilities, and understand if their visions aligned with our company. Ultimatley, the creative and punctuality that GreenMellen made it an easy decision to commit.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The GreenMellen team designed and developed a new website with WordPress platform. They handled all technical aspects of hosting; while we retained 100% of ownership of the site. Created a sitemap after extensive interview with expectations on our goals and "must haves". They consulted with our team for feedback and began to draft content for pages. Copy writing was our responsibility that we presented to GreenMellen to populate as they continued into the Wireframe build. Design and development was completed by the GreenMellen team with final adjustments to ensure functionality before final Launch. Training was the last service the team provided to ensure we had a solid foundation to update our website when needed using the WorPress applications.

GreenMellen had multiple persons throughout the website build. Ali Green and Mickey Mellen were the overall project managers that worked closely to ensure our project stayed on track and was meeting our expectations. GreenMellen's staff had a beautiful blend of creativity and technical components that made the process less stressful.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

With the new design, we have an increase of 50% of our patients join our Patient Portal available online; which allows them to be more active and up to date on their specific health care records. In addition, the content has boosted Google searches significantly and we have recorded longer interactive times on our website via Google Analytics. Overall traffic has increased by 30%.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project Management with GreenMellen is some of the best I've been around. Concise timelines and exact on tasks that had to be completed from each party to maintain schedule. I very much appreciated their consistency on keeping me on track to meet our deadlines for Launch.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Transparency.. Assumptions were never part of our vocabulary during the process. They double checked every detail to make sure all aspects of the project were to my specifications. The team made sure I was aware what was going on each week and had task for us to complete.

Are there any areas for improvement?

GreenMellen produces a wonderful product. They are completely in-tune with their capabilities and have the capacity to communicate what they can do for their clients. I don't see any future client having issues with their performance or team.
