I’m the executive director of a nonprofit organization that works on making the legal systems in Washington, D.C., more fair and equitable. We do policy research and advocacy.

We had a very outdated website for many years. We needed to find a vendor and partner to redesign and update the website both visually and structurally.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We received 100% resounding positive feedback from the stakeholders who previewed the site. Since the redesign, our site visits have increased, and we’ve received a lot of compliments on the site’s features. Overall, we were incredibly pleased with their work.

How did Greenflag media perform from a project management standpoint?
Greenflag media was very patient with us, especially during times when they had to wait for us to provide them with content for the site. They were also highly responsive and timely in their deliveries.

We were impressed with Greenflag media’s creative design style, interpretation of our vision for the site, and ability to turn that vision into reality. Their visual aesthetic, technical skills, and design style were outstanding.

I liked the whole team, but I would give a shout-out to Martin (Founder & CEO). He was really hands-on and incredibly helpful. He was great at explaining things and sharing his technical expertise with non-technical people like us. He was a great teacher and thought partner on how we could achieve our goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?
As a non-technical person, I found Webflow a little more complicated than I expected. However, they taught us how to use it and explained it very well.

The team was able to move quickly and regularly deliver work to keep us moving along. In just the first month we were impressed by how much was accomplished. The most important part of the project iss how thrilled we are with the final products. We had no idea what a new logo would look like, but they got us there. 

The brand guidelines are different from what I could have imagined, but they are just what we needed. Everyone is so happy with the website. They helped push our thinking and we are so happy with the results.

The team regularly delivered what we needed and kept the project moving at a good pace. I really appreciated that if I had any questions or needs between meetings, I received a very quick response and things were taken care of. Occassionally it felt like a request or something mentioned on a call got lost in the mix, but it didn't keep us from getting where we needed to be at the end.

They were patient with our team and really helped guide our project so it was completed on time and with a high degree of professionalism.

I’m the communications associate for a nonprofit that provides various services for DC residents. We provide housing, counseling, legal representation, and client advocacy services for people with disabilities. We also offer assisted technology services to help people obtain and use devices. In addition, we work with tenants who want to purchase their buildings. As the communications associate, I’m in charge of our social media channels.

We engaged Greenflag Media to redesign our outdated website, which wasn’t working well for us. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially had a kickoff meeting with Greenflag Media to discuss what would be on the website and what we wanted it to look like. From there, they tasked us with writing the website’s content as they developed the technology around it. 

We took a bit of time on the content because we were doing many things. However, in February 2024, we gave Greenflag Media the content, and they plugged it into Webflow. We had many back-and-forth conversations about how the site should look. They gave me the draft, and I made some edits. Finally, we launched the website in late April 2024. 

At present, we’re still working with them — they’ve given us a 30-day period where we can ask them to make edits on the website for free. We’re still in that period.

We’ve worked with three teammates from Greenflag Media, but I mainly talk to Martin (Executive Director). He’s our main point person for the project. The other two teammates are the project manager and a web developer.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement started in November 2023, and the site was launched in April 2024. However, we’re still engaged with them for website support.

The website we’ve received has been a huge upgrade — it’s a lot easier to navigate and looks better. I truly like our new website. Overall, the quality of Greenflag Media’s work has been great.

The team has been responsive to our concerns; Martin is easy to reach, which is nice. We’ve collaborated on many things, and their teammates are approachable. Moreover, they’ve met our timeline and budget needs. To communicate, we use Slack and email.

Items were delivered on time, they were very responsive and able to bear with our constantly-changing requests, and were easy to work with.

Their responsiveness to our feedback and requests. Quick/immediate turnaround for additions and changes.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Greenflag media could have done differently?

Very few areas for improvement, only one we can think of is for them to provide more "pushback" in the sense that it would have been nice to occasionally have them be a bit more firm or proactive. There were some moments where they explained why they thought one method would work better than another but we ended up overruling them without much resistance. 

So in short, they are the experts, they could stick to their guns a bit better instead of deferring 100% to inexperienced clients like us just to keep us happy. Again, very minor and nitpicky area for improvement, otherwise we were very happy with their work.

We needed to redesign our website. We had a site for many years, but it wasn’t very active.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially guided Greenflag media on our requirements. Our previous website was the framework, but we also outlined the updates we wanted to see. Between that and the RFP, the team understood what we were looking for.

We broke the project down into two phases. The first phase was to make the home page more inviting. We wanted a section about our network that included our mission, who made up our leadership team, and what were our program principles. Additionally, we wanted to have a membership component on the website.

Then, we moved on to expand what we had to engage other funders or national organizations. Greenflag Media developed the website for different audiences and made it functional for visitors so people could come to our website for events, programs, and other resource materials.

Greenflag Media also offered us continued support and training on the website to help us understand the design.

We put out an RFP, and Greenflag Media responded by email, as we requested. They explained what we needed and how they could provide it in their proposal. Compared to the other service providers, they took the time to look at our website and see our needs to provide a solution. Ultimately, we selected them because we were able to see their plan for rolling out the redesign, which really attracted our team.

The project was budgeted for $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from August–December 2022. They actually completed the project one month in advance.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We loved the design; we haven’t heard any negative feedback. Moreover, we felt it represented well our organizational network. Greenflag Media listened to what we wanted, from the colors to the features. Our previous website was dormant and inactive, and the new one is lively. They based the site’s aesthetics on our logo, so everything blended nicely. Overall, we couldn’t ask for anything better.

How did Greenflag media perform from a project management standpoint?

They provided everything and still delivered ahead of time; it was pretty impressive. We did touch-based meetings, and they walked us through the whole project from beginning to end. Overall, we were closely engaged with them, so it was like talking to a co-worker.

We communicated via email and Slack, which was helpful. If we had a question or changes to make, they could respond immediately, so communication was good throughout the process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We worked closely together, so it was a team effort. Greenflag Media took the time to listen to us to understand what we needed; they made us feel part of their team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we were pleased with their work. I hope they can improve and stay current with the trends in website design and development, but I’d encourage them to continue to do what they’re doing.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to be ready to present what you want to them. The team is ready to go and excited about what they can do. However, if you don’t have everything in place, they can work it out with you. They’re patient and understanding.

I’m the founding executive director of Pennies for Pointe, a nonprofit organization that aims to increase underrepresented populations in dance. Dance education and training are very expensive, and usually, only a certain class or group of children have access to it because their families can afford it. We provide resources to underprivileged children to train safely and effectively and potentially go on to have a career if they so choose.

What challenge were you trying to address with Greenflag media?

We used social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, but we didn’t have a website where people could find our organization’s information and services. The purpose of hiring Greenflag was to build a website that would be a centralized place for information.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Greenflag created our website, helped us with branding, and also offered SEO services so people could find us on Google. They helped us establish a color palette for our organization. I gave the team specifications related to the site’s design; for example, I requested a video to play when users entered the site. 

From there, Greenflag presented a layout and a draft. The team gathered pictures, videos, and placeholder content for us. They requested specific things from us, such as bios for our board members. They built the site from scratch using Webflow and set up volunteer forms for users interested in participating in our initiatives.

How did you come to work with Greenflag media?

The CEO was highly recommended to me by people who had worked with him in another capacity. I searched for Greelgflag and saw that they had great reviews. At one point, they contacted us to offer help with marketing and SEO through a Google Ads program they have for nonprofits. I had already heard great things about them and knew that I wanted to work with them. In our initial call, I told them what I wanted, and they knew exactly what to do to get those results for us.

We spent around $17,000.

We worked together from February–March 2022.

I want them to add a couple of elements to the site, so I’ll probably engage them again in a month or so.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I was amazed by the quality Greenflag Media had to offer. After the website launched, we saw a lot of traffic coming through it, and we also saw an increase in our social media traffic. Many people have shown interest in filling out the volunteer forms, which shows that the project was successful. Greenflag also posted about working with us on their social media to promote our organization. There were no bugs on the website; everything ran smoothly and functioned really well. The only changes we asked for were typos on the site, and when I brought them to their attention, they fixed them immediately. 

The team was extremely proactive. We had weekly meetings, and they would show significant progress every time, working faster than I expected. I was even lagging on my end because their turnaround was so quick. When I contacted them initially, they said they could launch the site within a month, and they stuck to their word. They built the site within an excellent timeframe, especially considering the amount of work it took. More than anything, I appreciated their professionalism and punctuality throughout the whole process. Overall, this was a great investment for us.

How did Greenflag media perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed extremely well from a project management standpoint; they were very punctual. We primarily used Google Drive for me to share content for the site. Our meetings were through Zoom, where he would share their screen to show the progress, timeline, and what I needed to do.

I don’t have any expertise in web development, so I appreciated how they communicated with me; they were very patient and willing to explain everything and break it down as simply as possible. They were very thorough in explaining the backend. Overall, their management was a great experience.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Greenflag’s sense of urgency stuck with me the most — there was no delay in their response. Additionally, their patience with me and my team stood out. The Greenflag team really cared about our organization and branding and wasn't doing things just to do them. They wanted to get us the results we requested and made sure everything was laid out in a detailed way.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don’t have any notes for them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I have two pieces of conflicting advice that depend on the project’s turnaround time. We had a very short timeline, and we needed to provide them with certain things, such as site language, headshots, and other content. My advice is to have those things prepared. However, knowing Greeflag’s patience, they'll work well if you don't have the materials prepared. Even though the project would get delayed, they'd push back the launch date. Overall, the team works well, and they’re very understanding — they’ll get the project done either way.

Additionally, I would advise you to listen to Greenflagh’s advice because they have your best interest in mind. There were certain design elements that I wanted regarding colors and font size. The team took them in and then made recommendations. When they showed me a mock-up, I understood their advice. The team would have used the colors I wanted, but ultimately they knew best.

We evaluated five web design companies, including Greenflag. Our VP of marketing was responsible for getting bids. During the bidding process, Greenflag had the best score and was the most responsive team, so they were awarded the contract.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website underwent several iterations, and we weren’t happy with the initial draft that we received. We went back to the drawing board, and Greenflag’s outputs eventually got better. To be clear, the iterations were fine because we were doing a unique website. To be clear, their work quality was good; we simply had to be more involved and engaged than we initially thought. Meanwhile, we also acquired more leads from the website. 

How did Greenflag media perform from a project management standpoint?

I was the project manager, and we used Microsoft-based project management tools. The Greenflag team took ownership of the project’s schedule and deliverables. We encountered delays on our side in giving them the content they needed — our team missed the deadline and not them. We experienced some challenges in compiling content. Meanwhile, we typically communicated via emails and text messages. We also had weekly meetings. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Greenflag’s responsiveness was impressive — that was one of the main reasons we hired them. They were a bit more expensive than the other web designers we were evaluating, but we truly liked their responsiveness. 

Beyond that, they were flexible to the changes that we needed as we took our time to finalize the content. Moreover, they had great attention to detail. We had requests that were outside of the original scope of work, and the team managed to incorporate them into their work. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would’ve liked to see Greenflag with a larger team that would dive deeper into the creative aspects of the project, such as the branding, logo design, and social media pages. It would’ve been better if multiple specialists could give me advice and guidance as we struggled with getting our content to them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Prepare your content and collateral ahead of time. If I could go back in time, I would’ve ensured that I’d locked in all the content first before engaging Greenflag.
