Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We've had multiple interactions with GoodCode. The first one was for our initial product demo for customers and VC. We had 12 weeks to complete it, and they did a great job executing on this timeline. 

The second was product planning and design work as we worked toward our initial alpha version. This was the a long-term type of work from a product discovery and execution perspective. This led to multiple outputs from GoodCode, including an updated product demo for RSA and user workflow product features that have been critical to our success. During this time, they also augmented our development team in converting designs to workable code. 

We now use GoodCode as an extension of our team. Whether we hand work off to them to execute or work with them in partnership, the GoodCode team has been a valuable addition to our team. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

For our first project on the demo, the intended outcome was to excite and engage customers and VCs. The quality of the demo accomplished this, as did the inbound customer interest, design partners, and the amount of funding we raised partially based on our demo. 

The second work set was about taking an even more fleshed-out product idea to validate product direction and aggregating significant inbounds from the RSA conference from presenting the new demo at our kiosk on the sales floor. 

For all the work since then, we've received much praise and excitement on our product from a visual and UX perspective. User experience is significantly lacking in our space, and it's shaping up to be quite the differentiator compared to our competition. We've been very happy with our partnership with GoodCode, who helped make that possible. 

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

PMs were attentive and thorough in helping us find problems and solutions for our product. I cannot think of a time when delivery was off target other than when the scope was unknown or hard to nail down. During these times, there was a concerted effort on both sides, and we always came up with solutions. When discovering our needs, realistic expectations were set for us, and the return was always better than expected.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The talent and culture of GoodCode are the best places to start. Next would be Austin and his vision for the company, which also aligns with the first point. Those two together make GoodCode a very solid team to work with. 

Are there any areas for improvement or something GoodCode could have done differently?

I can't think of anything.

I’m the head of product at a DevSecOps automation platform designed to secure the software supply chain by integrating security into development and operations processes.

What challenge were you trying to address with GoodCode?

We needed help with the design of our public-facing assets, including our website, sales presentations, and SaaS product.

What was the scope of their involvement?

GoodCode has provided UI/UX design work and assets for building our product. The team has delivered user interface designs and behaviors, including color schemes, page layouts, and individual control components. GoodCode has also provided prototypes and design systems as part of their work.

Our CEO brought them in.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with GoodCode in January 2023, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

GoodCode's designs have been released to production as new features. We've also received positive client feedback on the look, feel, and behaviors of the product.

How did GoodCode perform from a project management standpoint?

GoodCode is a very effective communicator and planner. I haven't had any issues with their project management. We communicate via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

GoodCode is very open to talking and collaborating. The team is easy to work with and has a good rapport.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although it's challenging in general, I feel that at times, GoodCode doesn't fully understand our user persona.
