We presented our business needs. GOGOmedia's task was to turn our needs into a ready-made ERP software project. This project was also implemented by GOGO.

We chose GOGOmedia on the basis of recommendations provided by other companies. These were companies that spoke very positively about cooperation with GOGO. As a company, we only cooperate with reliable contractors to avoid any doubts.

In addition, we made a selection based on our proven internal recruitment processes. We were not wrong. From the very beginning, the GOGO developers behaved professionally. People from GOGOmedia were available in a short time and that was what we wanted. Moreover, the conversation with the developers was successful, and the employees made a positive impression on us.

The activities were divided into three stages. In the first part, we focused on making a business analysis. At this stage, a preliminary design was created, which we accepted without any comments. The second stage was working with UX and UI. It was an equally important stage, because we wanted to plan our activities as well as possible so that the end user was satisfied. The third stage of cooperation was the implementation and maintenance of the project. The project was implemented in the Symfony + Angular technology.

A total of 8 people worked in the project at various stages of implementation: Business Analyst, UX Researcher, UX and UI Designer, Project Manager, Software tester and a three-person team of developers. The works lasted 9 months. 4,600 man-hours have been allocated to the project. The house of event team consisted of 6 people.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our priority was to receive the finished project as soon as possible. Of course, we wanted quality so that the project would be scalable, safe and failure-free. All these requirements were met and verified by audit. The code was properly written and met our internal standards.

I had constant access and insight into the project being implemented. I watched the progress. I had easy contact with the Project Manager. I didn't feel the need to control the team, but I felt that I could ask about the progress at any time and would get a specific answer. The project was implemented in the Agile Scrum model and settled with sprints. As a tools we use Jira and Slack.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I would like to point out the high flexibility of the team. We had a sense of support and understanding of business issues all the time. We certainly met with a great deal of empathy. The team from GOGOmedia boasted the ability to look two steps ahead. What was also surprising - the company worked extremely fast and delivered the project before the deadline. There were no unclear situations. We like their attitude

We know the IT industry and have known about the existence of GOGOmedia for years. We have not had the opportunity to cooperate so far. At the moment we needed support, we just called them. GOGO delegated to us 3 developers. There were two Symfony developers and one Angular developer. The internal project on which we worked together lasted 7 months. We had a great cooperation and a high standard communication.

The developer skills were verified according to our standards. The recruitment was successful. We trusted our intuition and appreciated the professional behavior of GOGO media developers

We wanted GOGOmedia employees to be quickly involved in our project. We wanted a synchronized team and it happened. The developers immediately started working. What more can I say, the developers did their best.

All three developers integrated with our team. The model of the cooperation was to supplement our team with additional specialists provided by the GOGOmedia software house.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are certainly young, talented and ambitious people. We liked their professional approach as well as their sense of humor and communication skills. It is important to present an actual assessment of cooperation with the company, so we can praise them for both technical and soft skills.

I don't have any bad comments when it comes to expressing my opinion on cooperation with GOGOmedia

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head product owner of Early Stage, one of Poland's biggest English language schools for school-age children — we have a very high level of English. We started operating in 1993 in Warsaw, and in around 2011, we started opening franchise branches all over Warsaw and the rest of Poland.

What challenge were you trying to address with GOGOmedia?

We found that we had a lot of competitors in the market, and other companies had LMS. We needed to build our own LMS to improve our franchises.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired developers and QA specialists from GOGOmedia, who are helping us build an LMS based on PHP and Angular. They’re also developing an office system within it for our franchises, which will help us with our lectures and classes. It supports the management, coordination, and planning of school activities.

For us, the LMS looks like a back-office system. Into it, we also integrated the sign-up process from our website. Parents who want their children to learn English with us sign up through our site. Then, the signup information goes to the back-office system of the school that the parents chose, and the secretary of that franchise receives and processes the information to send back the agreements. Teachers can also use the system to upload lessons and homework, as well as to check if the children are completing the lessons or not.

GOGOmedia provides hosting as well. Although a different company currently hosts our main website, GOGOmedia hosts the LMS and a set of other servers needed.

Our website was built a few years ago by a different company. Thus, in addition to the LMS system, GOGOmedia is also building a new website for us. For this portion of the project, they’ve provided us with an additional WordPress/HTML/CSS developer, and we’re building the website in Laravel.

Ours isn’t a normal website. As our school currently has around 130 franchises, GOGOmedia needs to build a main website and another website integrated with our new system. Additionally, we need an individual site within it for each of the 130 franchises and about 300 subsites to manage the content from the LMS. Still, everything will be integrated with a map as well.

What is the team composition?

We work with five people in total from GOGOmedia. Initially, we hired two Angular developers, but we currently work with only one. We’ve also worked with two other developers and a QA person. Apart from them, three additional resources are working on the website development.

How did you come to work with GOGOmedia?

This was a very big project for us, so we looked at a few companies. Other companies recommended GOGOmedia, and we decided to go with them.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent around 3,000,000 Polish zloty (approximately $751,060 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in May 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our franchisees and teachers are very satisfied with the product that GOGOmedia is developing, and the feedback from our customers has been outstanding as well.

Before we had this system, teachers weren’t able to check attendance online, and they had to write Word reports to send manually to each parent. Overall, we had a very basic system, which made it very difficult to use; it had a terrible UX. However, our new system allows more than 1,000 teachers to work from their mobile devices and easily send PDF reports to parents. Everything is working as expected so far, and the new UI/UX is beautiful.

How did GOGOmedia perform from a project management standpoint?

Although I’m responsible for project management, I can say that GOGOmedia has very good developers and testers. They’re very professional and competent. I’m also very satisfied with their code quality and development speed. We work on sprint cycles, so I can leverage their resources as needed to meet the budget and timelines.

We use Slack to communicate, and we’re actually integrated into GOGOmedia’s Slack account. We also have regular meetings, and we use Jira to manage the project's progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

GOGOmedia’s strengths are the expertise of their team and the quality of their work. They have a professional attitude, which allows us to discuss the project in-depth — our communication is very good. Additionally, the owner and project managers are very helpful. Whenever I need something, they provide a quick response.

It is also important to mention that GOGOmedia offers a full spectrum of development services, including DevOps and server support; this aspect is great.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re currently working on improving the DevOps side of our engagement. Recently, they employed a second DevOps specialist who has since started working on our servers. That was the only thing that could have been improved, but it already was improved by bringing in that resource.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you need to develop a small-to-medium size system or a complex website, work with GOGOmedia. However, if you need a big and complex system, you can leverage some of their resources to help, but I don’t believe they’re the team to go for very big projects.

I’m CEO & CTO of a home decor and gifts e-commerce company. It’s a small business; we have 20–30 employees.

What challenge were you trying to address with GOGOmedia Software House?

We had a ten-year-old e-commerce application, and we decided to rebuild it from scratch. We stuck with the database of the previous one because the structure was okay, so we just needed a new coating. We set the goal from the users’ perspective — we wanted the application to be swift.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Four years ago, GOGOmedia built us a web-based e-commerce application. The backend was very sophisticated — it had an order management system with multiple functions, including logistics and supply management elements. It even had some components of an ERP system; it was very robust.

This year, we’ve built another application with GOGOmedia. It’s a warehouse management system, which is also closely integrated with the main app. They’ve used PHP, MySQL, and a popular PHP framework for the backend, and some CSS and JavaScript for the frontend.

What is the team composition?

We have around 15 people working on our team; the main contacts are senior developers.

How did you come to work with GOGOmedia Software House?

Apart from building whole applications, they offered simple CSS and JavaScript coding and frontend templates. We were interested in some small tasks from that area, and we found their website promoting their services. We decided to move on with GOGOmedia because they were prompt in communication, and it was pretty convenient to work with them. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in July 2016, and we’re still cooperating on development.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re a small company, so our goal when working with a software house is to have a non-formal cooperation. We don’t use KPIs or anything like that. However, some of the advantages of working with GOGOmedia are their prompt communication and senior developers’ skills. Overall, we feel safe working with them.

On the other hand, having a robust application will bring problems sooner or later, but GOGOmedia has experience with other companies and addresses issues quickly. When we launched the app years ago, there were some minor bugs, but they were really helpful and focused on going live. It took a couple of weeks, but the team managed the process very well — they were constantly ready to help.

How did GOGOmedia Software House perform from a project management standpoint?

In general, they meet all the deadlines. If they don’t, it’s never their fault. We use Jira and Bitbucket to develop the app. Also, our product owner communicates with the developers on Slack and email, and we have simple reports each month.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re committed to achieving our goal, and they understand what we’re trying to make. Some software houses don’t care about the client when they build apps, but GOGOmedia is wholly dedicated to helping us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know; there have been situations in the past. For example, we had a junior developer who wasn’t good enough for the project, but they just switched him. Overall, we’re really happy with them. I can’t imagine how they could do better.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Communicate with them. You can talk to them about anything and describe what you want to achieve, and GOGOmedia will understand it and use it to their advantage.
