I’m the CTO of Sentry Management Solutions, a medical transportation company.

What challenge were you trying to address with GIS Art?

We needed a partner to help us with our geographical information system (GIS) for emergency and non-emergency medical transportation. Our company transports people with disabilities, so we needed to consider every aspect such as traffic to come up with the right solution.

What was the scope of their involvement?

GIS Art has helped us design and develop software for emergency and non-emergency medical transportation management. They use PHP and .NET for programming, and they built the back- and the frontend.

The system is pretty broad, and they’ve implemented a feature for medical billing. GIS Art has added other features, including a GPS tracking system using Google Maps, a reservation authorization system, and a credential management system. They also did design work. Currently, they provide maintenance and support for the software. The team continuously refactors the code.

What is the team composition?

We currently have about 12 developers and a project manager from GIS Art.

How did you come to work with GIS Art?

I found them on a platform called Elance, which belongs to Upwork.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent more than $1.5 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2015, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve been working with GIS Art for over seven years, and I’m fully satisfied with their work and delivery. They were able to deliver the tool we needed within 5–6 months. As a result, we were able to bid for a contract and win it. The solution is beneficial for all our users, and we’ve been able to improve and get new contracts.

Additionally, I’m pretty comfortable working with them. Throughout our partnership, they’ve learned English to communicate with my team, and they have a good understanding of their tasks. Moreover, they deeply understand the technology and bring their own vision and solutions to the project.

How did GIS Art perform from a project management standpoint?

We have weekly meetings through Zoom, and we communicate daily. We get ver prompt responses from them, which is helpful.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with GIS Art’s expertise in geographical information systems and HIPAA compliance.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected this GIS Art because of their skill set alignment to our project needs.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope was to take government provided open datasets and interperate the values, restraints and property configurations and generate a result using those values and specific formulas. The key deliverables were first getting the data from various datasets then managing how we would take this data and interperate it for inclusion in our system. Then it was how we would present the results to the user once a query was made, all of this the team did perfects.

Technologies used were PHP, CodeIgniter, PostGreSQL and PostGis

For the majority of the project it was 3-4 full stack developers with 1 also taking care of project management.

Impeccible project management style will use these guys again at any chance we have. From Kanban to Agile project management they have the skills to get the project over the line as needed.
