I brought GeekNauts on in February 2025 to take over development of Coelle, an app that had been built by another developer. Rather than starting from scratch, they had to get up to speed on an existing codebase and hit the ground running — which they did.

Since the transition, they've helped expand the app's audio experiences, streamlined and improved the UI, fixed critical bugs, and significantly stabilized the overall product. They also resolved issues with my RevenueCat integration, which was a key priority for monetization.

Since transitioning the project to GeekNauts in February 2025, the most significant improvements have been in stability and user experience. The app now crashes far less frequently, and our subscription flow — powered by RevenueCat — works reliably, which directly impacts revenue and user trust.

On the content side, we've successfully expanded the app's audio experiences, giving users more reasons to engage and return. The combination of a more stable product and richer content has contributed to improved user retention.

While we're still in a growth phase and tracking long-term metrics, the qualitative shift has been clear: Coelle went from an unstable, hard-to-maintain app to one we're confident building on. That foundation is the most important outcome of this engagement.

GeekNauts has a pretty hands-off management style — in the best way. Once a task is handed off, they take ownership and handle it, which has been a relief. I don't have to micromanage or constantly follow up; they just get things done. For a founder who has a lot of other things to focus on, that's genuinely valuable.

Deliverables have generally come in on time, and communication has been straightforward. The one area for growth is attention to detail — occasionally things would ship with small issues that required a follow-up round of fixes. Nothing project-threatening, but worth noting.

Overall, they operate like a dependable extension of your team rather than a vendor that needs constant direction.

We hired Geeknauts to design and build the MVP of Swizel, a nightlife service platform that improves ordering and payment flow at bars and clubs.

The scope included three core components: 

• A user-facing mobile app that allows customers to browse a full bar menu, place orders at their own pace, and generate a scannable payment interface that bartenders can process directly.
• A bartender web app optimized for speed and real-time service, where staff can view incoming orders and scan customer devices to complete transactions. A key requirement was that this interface runs smoothly on PDA barcode scanner devices as well as standard tablets and computers.
• Admin and owner panels to manage menus, venues, and operational settings.

Key deliverables included: 

• Full mobile app (ordering + payment interface)
• Real-time order flow between users and bartenders
• Scannable payment system (bartender-initiated, not user scanning)
• Web-based bartender dashboard optimized for high-volume environments

Key measurable outcomes include:

• Successful implementation of a bartender-initiated payment system using a scannable interface
• Verified compatibility of the bartender system on PDA barcode scanner devices, not just standard mobile or desktop environments

From a product perspective, the MVP confirmed that users can browse, order, and complete payments seamlessly without disrupting bar operations, which was the primary hypothesis behind Swizel.

The system is now ready for live deployment, and we are actively building version 2.0 to expand functionality (including table management and split payments).

We had weekly Zoom-style calls to set expectations and track progress.   In the beginning, these were information gathering, brainstorms, etc but once work started these were update calls. We also spoke informally on Slack quite often. 

There were montly invoices detialing hours worked, but these were never a surprise because we set expectations in the beginning and stayed on budget.   (I did add a few things, which increased price, but they were very flexible on this). 

They were very reponsive.  They never missed a call and the key people were there each week.  as we got nearer to deployment, we spoke more often on Slack in order to get small changes made quickly.   This worked very well.   There were almost zero delays.   I think one week we had a delay because one of the key developers was out sick, but that is unavoidable.

I am the founder and CEO of Point B, our first project is RaceInsight which is a tool for the sim racing community to improve driving skill.

The goal was to build a cross platform mobile app that would interface with popular sim racing titles, gather telemetry data, process it, and display it in a simple intuitive interface that did not require telemetry knowledge.

After speaking to many candidate software houses from around the world, I chose Geeknauts following a conversation with the CEO who unlike others took his time to deeply understand the solution to an impressive level.

Even before starting work, he already provided insights which improved upon my design. In this way, I developed a very high level of trust in both the integrity and competence of Geeknauts and I knew that this was a partner I could and wanted to work with.

We held a series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals and objectives. We provided wireframes and design documentation, and Geeknauts proceeded to develop an MVP version that reached the market on both IOS and Android within 3 months.

They supported us at every step with tips on how to improve the app and really took the time to ensure that the solution was cohesive and of high quality. We then worked on refining the app from both the graphics and functionality perspectives, a process that is ongoing.

I’ve met earlier CEO of Geeknauts and I knew I could trust him. That is why when we came up with an idea for an app, we've decided to contact with them and apparently it was a great decision.

After releasing MVP version they developed further functionalities and started to implement IOS version. Both of them are working great and Geeknauts still are mantaining and developing our app to this date.
