The scope of work primarily focused on supporting our go-to-market and early growth initiatives across multiple marketing channels. Galactic Federation assisted with paid media strategy and management, SEO support, organic social media strategy, analytics and tracking setup, and broader marketing execution during our launch phase.
Key deliverables included campaign planning and management for paid advertising, SEO recommendations and optimization support, social content coordination, performance reporting, analytics infrastructure guidance, and ongoing strategic collaboration around launch execution and growth initiatives.

The engagement helped us establish stronger marketing infrastructure and improved coordination across our go-to-market efforts. Most deliverables were completed within expected timelines, and the team remained collaborative and receptive to feedback throughout the process. As an early-stage company with evolving needs, we appreciated their flexibility and willingness to work closely with us as strategies and creative direction continued to develop.

What stood out most was the responsiveness and adaptability of the team. One area for improvement would be continuing to strengthen alignment around creative direction and brand execution, particularly for companies with very specific positioning and aesthetic preferences. Establishing even more detailed alignment early in the process could help streamline collaboration and reduce revision cycles, especially in fast-moving startup environments.

Galactic Fed helped to develop and execute a growth strategy that would put my company on a clear path to achieving our immediate growth goals. The growth strategy included two phases that were focused on achieving monthly recurring revenue and paying users for my platform as the primary goals. Phase 1, which we just completed included brand development, website strategy and CRO, and organic social media posting using creative assets and refined brand messaging. These deliverables were focused on building foundational brand elements (including messaging, design, and creative), improving conversion potential of our web app to allow users to understand the platform quickly so that can be guided to take action, and establishing a presence on key social platforms to introduce the brand, build trust, and educate potential users.

Thanks to Galactic Fed, we've experienced a 16% Increase in non-branded clicks, a 73% increase in keywords ranking in top 100 of SERP, a 72% increase in organic traffic, a 168% increase in non-branded impressions, and our site domain rating has increased by 7 points to 46.

I'm the Executive Director of the American Youth Literacy Foundation, Inc., 501 c 3, an all-volunteer nonprofit dedicated to bringing literacy to EVERY American child.

During the pandemic we built the FUNetix "Learn to Read" app. We applied for and received a grant from Google for a $10,000 per month Google Ad Words spend to promote the FUNetix® app.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Through a random post on LinkeIn we heard that a top digital marketing firm was offering to do pro bono work for nonprofits; so we applied and told them our story. Galactic Fed understood our mission and wanted to help. The timing couldn’t have been better.

Galactic Fed has been managing our account for 2 ½ years flawlessly. They are excellent at what they do, applying algorithms and inputting data to optimize click through rates and conversions. We are able to spend the full $10k per month by keeping our conversion rates high using optimized SEO.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

A wide variety of team members collaborated. We set up a shared Slack channel and worked with both engineers who managed some of the back end feedback loops on our website. We also worked with Galactic Fed's marketing team as well as their account managers.

We receive monthly reporting that demonstrates which search terms are pulling, where traffic is coming from and how our click throughs and conversions are performing.

We've been able to continuously try new variations in a wide variety of global markets as well as consistent efforts in the USA; and we have refined our strategy to optimize our ad spend, staying well above the Google requirements to keep the grant money flowing to the cause.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Excellent communications and workflow. We didn't have the resources to manage this ourselves so we gave the necessary permissions to the GF team and they got it done!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were willing and able to seamlessly engage with us in virtual environment, collaborate with our web and engineering teams and roll out the campaign with success and timeliness.

We've been continuously impressed with their work! We don't have any suggestions for improvement. The campaign has been flawless.

I’m the co-founder of Aloa. We help startups and small businesses by providing them with software development services. I focus on the operations side of the business.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Galactic Fed?

We were entering 2020 with a solid pipeline. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we ended up losing a lot of the initial pipeline that we’d set up in Q4 of 2019.

We relied heavily on in-person referrals and networks for a lot of our deals. We tried to scale faster than we could, because everyone was working from home. We didn’t have any marketing efforts at that point. We were excited to work with Galactic to figure out our online image and paid ads.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Galactic Fed helped us get our website and landing page in front of startups and small businesses looking to build their products or expand their product teams.

They helped us set up Google Ads from scratch, as we didn’t have any experience with it. They set up the accounts, helped us with how to best target those accounts, and created the best business strategy. We wrote the first draft of the Google Ads copy, and they took it from there.

At that point, we hadn’t put much thought into our landing page from a marketing perspective; we just threw things onto the website with no rhyme or reason. Galactic Fed took a look at our web copy, landing page design, and flow. Then, they recommended changes to the content and website structure to better optimize for conversions.

What is the team composition?

We work with four main people, including an account manager. He does everything for us. He gives us feedback on the copy, provides weekly performance reports, fine-tunes the marketing strategy, and optimizes our ads to get more conversions to the door.

A high-level person helped us set up the engagement, and he was our first point of contact at Galactic Fed.  Another person on the technical side has helped us with setting up Google Tag Manager, embedding the tracking codes, and integrating with Salesforce. Another point of contact helps us here and there with administration.

How did you come to work with Galactic Fed?

One of our founders knew one of their founders, and we were in a place where we needed to ramp up our digital marketing. Rather than going through the process of researching different firms and freelancers, we went with Galactic Fed.

How much have you invested with them?

We estimate it to be between $20,000–$30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them around March 2020, and the project is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They’ve helped us close over $200,000 of deals revenue, all of which has come from ads. We went from less than 100 clicks and 1,000 impressions to around 200 clicks and 40,000–50,000 impressions.

How did Galactic Fed perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve been amazing. Every Monday, Vic (Account Manager) sends us a report on a dedicated Slack channel. In the report, Vic provides numbers on ad spend, total spend convergence, cost of acquisition, total impression clicks, and click-throughs.

Each week, Vic also explains problems they encountered, like underperforming campaigns, and lays out his plan to better optimize them or put them on pause. We work together every week to figure out long-term goals, and we haven’t experienced a single issue. They’re awesome.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The initiative that the account manager shows every week is impressive. We don’t have a dedicated marketing person on our team, and we’re constantly working on products. We don’t have much time to look at dashboards and numbers every week and figure out the strategy or make decisions for underperforming campaigns. 

Things have been improving with each week, without us having to go to them asking questions. They make sure our bidding strategy is correct. We trust them to do what they need to do.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One minor thing would be to give us a long-term metric. We have some good short-term metrics, but we don’t have a good idea of a long-term metric or KPI. Part of that’s on us because we don’t have a defined marketing strategy, and we’re leaning on our account manager for most of that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They should know what they’re looking for, whether that is more impressions,  clicks, or conversions. We didn’t figure that out until two weeks in, and they really helped us out. It would have been better if we already knew what we wanted to get out of the experience.

Another recommendation would be to come with examples, which we actually did. We already had a good idea of who our competitors were, and that sped up the onboarding process. Galactic Fed took a look at our competitors and their strategies, and they built our strategy around that.
