I had a client which I wasn't able to optimize and I reached out to Funktional to handle, optimize & grow the leads & brand digitally.

What were your goals for this project?

To reach a cost/conv at $40 (I was getting it at $187/conv) and once reached, scale the budget up to $50K/month.

How did you select this vendor?

I found them via their ads on Internet. Sent a form, and they contacted me back within the next 4 hours. Described the whole project & limitations faced, and they initially ran me through their strategy, and started working on the account step by step to achieve the conversion costs & optimizations.

• Increased Adwords conversion by 200x after understanding the major problem faced.
• Used manual cpc for bidding, defined custom audience for remarketing, targeted custom & similar audience on both channels, shifted from cpm to cpc, implemented display ads, universal app ads along with search ads.
• Did day/time analysis, created pivot charts & tables to understand conversions. Increased the conversion rate from 20 signups to 150 signups/day with 20% less budget than previously used.

What was the team composition?

Wojtek was a project manager that was included in every call for detailed reporting. Marcin was included in any copywriting details including the ads. Hubert is the owner and was always supportive and coming with the strategies. Lastly, Kasia was the person who was the heart & soul of whole optimization and she did everything related to AdWords problems and account management.

Their team is awesome! They are really smart & efficient people to work with and extremely supportive.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Hubert always came up with outstanding strategies, which didn't come even in my mind, like digital branding, increasing brand presence, running FB videos & retargeting these people. Digitally they are the most smartest bunch of people I've worked with and a creative mindset, with amazing set of designs for ads!

Are there any areas for improvement?

I cannot imagine anything better than what they provided to me.

During this project, Funktional created several products for us. Their developers created eight websites and two visual identity systems. They also created a few logos and a substantial amount of marketing collateral.

The work Funktional has provided has helped the companies evolve. The quality of the products has been great and allows us to have organized and efficient processes. Our clients and stakeholders have praised the work. We’re delighted with the materials they’ve produced and the products have been delivered as promised.

Their team is skilled at communicating, so we've been informed throughout the process. They’re always looking for feedback so it has felt like a true collaboration. They are transparent with their estimates and expectations, and we meet in person or speak through phone and email.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their energy and effectiveness are exceptional—I always look forward to working with them. They are a great, easy team to work with.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Although they are blunt with their opinions and sometimes push us from our comfort zone, the end results are astonishing.

I’m the managing director at a global marketing agency.

What challenge were you trying to address with Funktional?

We had a core creative team of about 125 people, but we were still struggling to serve our global client base. We wanted a solution that allowed us to scale our business without hiring full-time employees. We outsourced a team to handle our lower-level needs, but we still needed a vendor to take on projects in our high-value pipeline.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, the Funktional team focused on creative production execution. They weren’t necessarily designing anything on their own, but instead executing provided designs that aligned with our standards. Eventually, we built up enough trust to expand their role to include creating their own digital and print designs. They executed a variety of creative project on their own, like print collateral, brochures, and other things of the sort.

What is the team composition?

I mainly worked with Hubert (CEO & Founder, Funktional), but they also provided a background team of about 14 that consisted of project managers, creatives, and outsourced proofreaders. Of those resources, we had access to about five of them.

How did you come to work with Funktional?

I heard from a colleague that Poland was a place of great outsourcing opportunity. After looking into a dozen different vendors, I combined a list of my five top candidates. I visited each of them. When meeting with Funktional, I spoke with Hubert and was impressed by their capabilities. We chose to work with their team, and they proceeded to grow their company around our partnership. It was a mutually beneficial relationship.

We spent between $250,000–$400,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June 2016–December 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Because we didn’t have to hire any more full-time employees, we were able to keep our payroll down while maintaining our quality and turnaround time. I really appreciated their QA process. We never had an issue with their team; they consistently hit deadlines and met our requirements.

How did Funktional perform from a project management standpoint?

The workflow was very smooth. We set up the engagement in a way that allowed us to benefit from the six-hour time difference. We placed requests at the end of our day, and the Funktional team completed them by the next morning. For communication, we primarily used email. They used Teamwork to track their workload, but we used Workfront. Both systems were efficient. We’re looking forward to the upcoming work we have scheduled with their team.

I think I’ve said it all. They delivered great work.

No, nothing comes to mind.

Any advice for potential customers?

Don’t be afraid to outsource with Funktional, the culture and language barriers aren’t there.

They are great at taking ownership and process management. They also understand customer problems and are dedicated to solving them. They have really good UI / UX designs. Their team comes up with ideas that we never thought of. We work with the Funktional team as if they were our own employees.
