The objective of this project was to design and develop a new website for our company that reflected our expertise in architecture, engineering and construction, unique process and identity, with a focus on targeting the luxe market and attracting high-end projects.

Key Deliverables:

1. Creative Strategy: develop a new creative strategy aligned with our company's new position and business strategy;
2. Web Design: design website pages for both desktop and mobile platforms, focusing on user experience and lead generation;
3. Web Development: develop the website using Webflow and the latest technology to ensure optimal performance and user experience.

An external agency, Forwwward, was hired to design a website using Figma. The scope of work covered the creation of visual elements for three key pages: the Home page, Work page, and Service page. Forwwward's design process began with developing mood boards to capture the desired aesthetic, colour schemes, and overall style direction for the brand. These were followed by more refined style scapes, showcasing specific design elements that defined the website's visual language.

The core deliverables included full-page designs for the Home, Work, and Service pages, all created in Figma. These designs were responsive, ensuring a consistent user experience across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. A cohesive design system was also provided, including typography scales, colour palettes, and reusable components tailored to the brand.

In addition to the static designs, Forwwward delivered video files demonstrating proposed animations for the website. These included micro-interactions, page transitions, scroll-triggered animations, and other interactive elements. The animation files served as a reference for the development team, helping them implement the desired dynamic effects.

The final deliverable was a comprehensive design package in Figma, organised and prepared for easy handoff to the development team. This package included all the aforementioned elements: mood boards, style scapes, page designs, the design system, and animation video files.

This scope of work focused solely on the design phase and did not include the actual development or coding of the website. The deliverables served as the blueprint for the subsequent development process, ensuring that the final website accurately reflected the intended design vision, including both static and dynamic elements.

These included various interactive elements like micro-interactions, page transitions, and scroll-triggered animations. The delivery of these animation concepts shows progress in enhancing the website's dynamic user experience.

As a software maintainer, we needed to change our interface to look better and more modern. We requested that forwwward us. In a careful analysis, make new designs as a possibility for our software and implement these in our framework. The key deliverables were the design concepts, and the redesigned templates including CSS and some Javascripting.

Our adoption rate of the new design, by new users, proves that the newly designed interface had a measurable impact. Even though we still offer an LTS variation using the old design, the newer users are adopting our software at an increasing rate. We've also had a measurable adoption rate for legacy. users.

I worked closely with their team, using their design system and GitLab (hosted by us), in which I was provided with a board for all steps of the design and development tasks, and provided them with issues found during implementation. 

Deliverables were so well-defined and delivered on time. The use of the tools made collaboration and planning simple, and we met our goals. The fact that thy were ready to work with our internal tools also aided us, from a project management aspect.

They are young and agile, and they placed us and our satisfaction at the top of their priority list. They integrated new team members on their own and we felt no changes in process when new users came to the team, to take over tasks.

At this scale, it was a challenge for them. It would be an improvement, if they could provide better infrastructure and processes for working via a remote Git Repository. They also need a bit more polish on their Linux skill set.
