I recently started a brand new boutique company called Kaddidlehopper Services, LLC. We’re basically in our infancy and we’re clicking over a full year. 

We provide a very unique boutique service to the recreational vehicle (RV) and mobile home communities. Florida is probably the best place to start because the community here tends to be of the older community. Our customers may not have the desire to do things such as regular residential cleaning services and landscaping. 

We also provide a ride, share, and delivery services. Moreover, we also do pet sitting and dog walking services. Overall, we provide services that are specifically tailored to each of our customers. For instance, we have some people who can’t drive very well and they have to go to a doctor, and we take them to their appointments and pick up their prescriptions. Sometimes, we also offer grocery shopping services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Foreignerds INC.?

Part of our new business growth was marketing and communicating the products and services that we offer. Since we started this organization, I was blown away by how quickly we were growing and the essence of where our services were being needed.

In relation to that, I knew that I needed to have a website that would generate interest and display our value to the RV and mobile home community. Above all, we wanted something that could enhance our online presence.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We were very specific with our requirements because we didn’t want just a web template — we wanted to have the flexibility of developing a distinctive website. We envisioned a WordPress website that was intuitive, mobile-friendly, and user-friendly even to our foreign customers. 

Additionally, we wanted the platform to capture data on how many users were using our site and what web pages were getting hit. That way, we could forecast what people were interested in and what particular product or service they clicked on.  

Most of our clients were Canadians who spoke French. As a result, Foreignerds developed some of our pages into French so that our third-party stakeholders could understand our message and illustrations.

Another feature of the website was allowing us to maintain information of our customers such as contracts or pictures of their unit so that when they need it, they could have access to that again. Since Canadians could only stay in the country for six months annually, it was vital for us to have an interactive popup calendar. That way, when our customers would log in again, I could plan accordingly with my staff so that we could prepare for their arrival. 

In addition to that, they agreed to host the email portion of my website. Moreover, I negotiated with them to host the email portion of another company website I had. 

What is the team composition?

We communicated with their VP of sales and he assigned a project manager to work with us. We worked with two project managers, and they had web developers and other staff that supported them. 

How did you come to work with Foreignerds INC.?

They were running a marketing campaign and I received an email from Foreignerds. The timing was perfect because we wanted to proceed with website development. At the time, another company also emailed us so I communicated with them first. However, I tried to reach out to them several times, but as far as I was concerned, they were no longer interested since they were not responding to us.

When I talked to Foreignerds, we understood each other. After that, I requested a statement of work (SoW), so that there was clarity on what my requirements were since I had three businesses to run. The contract also provided the timelines, duration of the contract, and the project’s cost.

They gave me a professional SoW which captured the majority of my requirements. After we were done with a couple of clarifications, I was happy to sign the paperwork prepared by Foreignerds.

We worked with Foreignerds from March 2020–January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The team was customer-focused and whenever we ran into issues, they immediately supported us. Everything was seamless, and as far as customer service was concerned, the project was handled professionally and they never missed a beat. 

Our website is still new right now, so we don’t have any metrics yet. However, we received good feedback on our platform. I expect to run into glitches because we didn’t fully test it yet with clients, but I’m confident that Foreignerds would be supporting us on that endeavor. 

How did Foreignerds INC. perform from a project management standpoint?

I was really impressed that they were able to identify exactly the team who would be working with us right away. When the primary project manager fell ill right as we were kicking off the initial development concept and development pages, they quickly put another project manager in charge. 

The new junior project manager they assigned was phenomenal. Even though she was learning, we didn’t feel burdened by her lack of expertise or inability to accomplish a task. When I had questions, she immediately responded to me. 

I had schedule challenges because I was very busy, but the team hung in there and worked with me. There were times when I was only available around 10 p.m.–11 p.m., and their project manager still accommodated me. Perhaps, they used tools internally, but I didn’t really care as long as they managed themselves well. 

Foreignerds constantly reminded me that they were just waiting for me, and when I told them that I’d get back to them as soon as I could, they always responded in a very professional manner. I never felt I was being pushed to get back to them. Instead, the Foreignerds team was always understanding. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I had no problems with Foreignerds, and I have no plans to go anywhere else for my website development. I'd refer them to people I know because they showed a high level of commitment and a great attitude during our partnership. Moreover, they did what they say they would do, and they remained patient with me. Most importantly, even though English was not their first language, they made it work.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

On the technical side, they could test out pages while in the process of developing them. We had 1–2 times when the checklist indicated that the pages were completed, but when I looked at them, they didn’t look completed at all.

They did the work, but there were issues between the browsers on Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and more. There were times when I felt frustrated because it was not working even though I removed all the cookies and refreshed my browser. However, for the most part, everything was pretty smooth.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Understand what your concept is, as well as your products and services. If you don’t understand it and you can’t communicate it well to Foreignerds or other web development companies, they won’t be able to turn your vision into reality.

We have engaged Foreignerds on several projects. One of notable interest was a directed, purposed and custom design of Municipality Management Software for a local municipality project we were bidding.

Our initial goal was to determine if were able to meet the requirements of the contract by providing a secure SaaS platform with high availability using technologies that increased performance while reducing costs for the client.

How did you select Foreignerds INC. and what were the deciding factors?

Very often we received sales pitches from companies. Though not always available to engage, we attempt to respond to each request as we understand the need to increase a customer base.

In lining up additional technical resources, we interviewed a few companies and Foriegnerds stood out as a contender. After a few back and forth exchanges, we chose Foriegnerds as our development arm due to Vivek's professionalism and timeliness of responses.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Wingu Technology and Foreignerds invested and worked many hours to respond to a RFP bid that required us to deliver a solution that could be deployed from scratch within 8 weeks. We chose a combination of technologies such as Linux, PHP, HTML5, and MYSQL to create a multi-node application.

We created a product to address the client's request of Unlimited User Licenses. All data would remain with the client and we presented a Single Tenant Solution for ultimate privacy. In addition, our solution was to interface with all existing systems owned by the client.

A monumental task in such a short period of time. We would provide a custom built, custom purposed, highly-available software application and highly-available hardware solution with our combined capabilities.

The solution Foreignerds worked with us to develop would import all existing client data, track ownership of history of properties, view properties with a built-in GIS mapping system, manage documents, provide calendaring capabilities, contacts management, integrate with Microsoft Outlook for communications, integrated mapping and navigation system, reporting tools, administration capabilities, allow customer feedback and integration, track permits and licenses, and track code enforcement and several other useful features to properly manage a municipality.

We worked directly with Vivek and a project manager to pool and synchronize our development efforts. There were eight (8) assigned technical staff members provided to assist with development of the project. With more as the project would require.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Unfortunately, after much work on both Wingu Technology and Foreignerds behalf, the county we were bidding with decided instead to continue using a product already in use.

It was disappointing that no vendor was chosen though much was invested to present a solution with all of the requirements acknowledged by the governmental agency. What really impressed me was Vivek's response to a dismal end of a bidding process.

"It is alright. Part of business my friend." A simple, but an emotionally intelligent response based on all of the upfront work and investment we performed in response to this RFP.

First and foremost, everything was in writing. After initial and periodic teleconferences, we followed up every communication and agreement with written confirmation. It was easy to review our agreements and we had zero communication challenges while working this project.

Project Management was Outstanding, the bi-weekly progress reports were timely, meaningful and insightful too. Those reports helped us identify the gaps and solutions to bridge those.
