I'm a co-founder of Muscat, an online store selling prescription glasses. We also have our own stores in Poland and operate as an omnichannel company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Flying Bisons?

We had an online store and hired them to develop a brand new frontend version from scratch.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We gave them access to all our site analytics. They analyzed the customer journey based on that data, then proposed some mockups. They built three desktop mockups showing us the customer journey, after which we moved on to the mobile version.

Our reason for hiring them was to fix the main problems our customers had. We wanted to simplify the sales channel for our customers so they could easily order glasses. They also took care of graphic design. They designed the whole page and provided coding for its frontend.

What is the team composition?

They assigned around six people to the project, including Lukasz (Co-Founder and Senior UX Consultant, Flying Bisons), two project managers, and the head of design.

How did you come to work with Flying Bisons?

We found them through a friend of my business partner. We had heard that their company was growing very fast. They were highly-recommended in Poland.

How much have you invested with them?

The project was combined with the development of our backend system, which was done by a different company. It would be difficult for me to separate these two.

The total cost was above $30,000, with around half of it representing Flying Bisons’ cost. I don’t have the exact numbers.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2017 and finished around November of that year. We were then waiting for our backend system, so the website was only launched in March 2018. We’ve hired them again to analyze our customer journey.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our customer acquisition cost went down by about 50% and our sales skyrocketed.

How did Flying Bisons perform from a project management standpoint?

Every task was tracked through ActiveCollab. They performed well and we're very satisfied, which is why we’ve hired them again.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a very nice team of people and can handle projects from the beginning to end. They can add value at different stages of the project as they don’t use different companies for areas like design. They design, analyze data, and handle implementations in-house. I haven’t needed to search for different companies to code the frontend. They did the whole thing, which is great.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not right now. They're the best company we’ve ever worked with.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I advise customers to look for companies that can provide everything, from mockups to implementation. They can do this.

I’m the chief of staff of constellr, a company that provides high-resolution thermal intelligence from space, enabling defense, security, and infrastructure monitoring by revealing activity and patterns that optical and radar sensors may miss, even in challenging environments.

What challenge were you trying to address with Flying Bisons?

We needed a new website to represent our evolving organization. We were looking for a partner who could help us from end to end and deliver a high-quality product that would serve as the face of our company post-Series A. We needed to finish this on a very short timeline and had limited resources.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Flying Bisons designed and developed our website, created most of the content, and launched the site. Their team interviewed all the members of our team to put together a full understanding of the scope we wanted to include in our new website. They also provided post-launch fixes and were extremely proactive!

What is the team composition?

We worked with 2–5 teammates from Flying Bisons.

How did you come to work with Flying Bisons?

We found them through an extensive online search. We chose them over other options because they had high ratings, good value for cost, and a good design style, and we're very flexible to meet our timeline and needs.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November 2025–February 2026.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Flying Bisons delivered the website on time and in a very short time frame. The site represented our evolving organization very well and served as a key enabler to advancing our revenue targets and pipeline building. We had much higher qualitative indicators, and the website represented our new direction post-pivot and maturity post-Series A. It now serves as an enabler for us to advance partnerships with our target groups. The Flying Bisons team went above and beyond even after the conclusion of the project to support with follow up changes. We look forward to continuing our relationship through future engagements!

How did Flying Bisons perform from a project management standpoint?

Flying Bisons did a very good job of pushing things forward and pulling together the loose strings to create a beautiful final product. We communicated via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were proactive, had a high quality of design, and were willing to go the extra mile. They were also available for follow-ups and tweaks.

Are there any areas they could improve?

As with any fast-moving project, timelines can shift, so continued flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities would make the experience even stronger. That said, the team was highly responsive and accommodating throughout, and consistently went above and beyond to ensure a great outcome.
What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?
 Come in with clear goals, but also treat this as a collaborative partnership rather than a transactional engagement. The team brings strong thinking, moves quickly, and is incredibly supportive throughout the process. If you’re open and communicative, they will go the extra mile to deliver high-quality results.

Our goal for this project was straightforward: optimize the conversion flow and enhance UX/UI screens based on qualitative research insights. The project required a structured design process, ensuring functional, visually cohesive, and user-centered outcomes. Unfortunately, the execution did not meet expectations, resulting in an unsatisfactory experience.

Key Deliverables:
1. User-centered UX/UI designs reflecting qualitative research insights.

4. High-fidelity UI designs, ready for development.

While these deliverables were expected to be executed professionally, the final outcome fell short in multiple areas, including misalignment with business requirements, inconsistencies in UI, and incomplete feature implementation.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The expected outcomes for this project included:

1. Design & Requirements Completion – Low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity UI designs were to be delivered within the agreed timeline, adhering to business and functional requirements.
2. Feature Implementation – Key functional elements, animations, and interactions were expected to be fully executed as scoped.
3. Stakeholder Alignment & Approval – Final deliverables were supposed to meet business, technical, and design expectations with minimal iterations required.

Unfortunately, these outcomes were not fully achieved. The final designs deviated from business requirements, lacked consistency, and left key deliverables unfinished.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Team & Expertise Misalignment – Initially, Flying Bisons introduced experienced professionals, but they were not involved in the actual execution until we escalated the issue. This led to inconsistencies in delivery and communication gaps.

Lack of Information Flow Between UX & UI Stages – The process was structured into two phases: UX mockups followed by UI design. However, key insights and discussions from the UX phase were not properly transferred to the UI stage, which was managed by a different team member. This caused critical elements to be overlooked or changed without alignment.

Last-Minute Team Reassignment – The UI designer assigned to our project was suddenly replaced one day before presenting progress, further disrupting continuity and impacting design quality.

Lack of Iterative Approach – The UX stage lacked an incremental, iterative process, making collaboration difficult. While the UI stage showed some improvement after our request, critical business requirements were still not reflected in the final output.

Overall, project management lacked consistency, communication, and proper execution of agreed-upon deliverables, leading to misalignment between expectations and the final result.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The company has an impressive portfolio, and the team members were friendly and willing to help. However, as a smaller project, we felt we were given lower priority, which we understand to some extent.

Unfortunately, this led to incomplete and unpolished final designs that contained bugs, inconsistencies, and missing elements, making them unusable for implementation. While the team had potential, the lack of attention to detail and project prioritization left us disappointed with the final outcome. 

While the team was responsive and had skilled professionals, key deliverables were left unfinished or misaligned, making the final designs not implementable. We worked out clear business and functional requirements, which were essential for the project's success, but they were overlooked in key areas. While the FB team was responsive and tried to help, the final outcome did not meet critical needs. I'm sure there are experienced professionals at Flying Bisons, but in our case, the lack of alignment made the experience frustrating and disappointing.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Flying Bisons could have done differently?

Definitely areas to improve are:

1. Clear Goal Alignment & Scope Adherence – The project lacked a structured approach to setting and maintaining clear goals. Business requirements and initial instructions were often overlooked or changed without alignment, leading to inconsistencies in the final outcome.
2. Consistent Team Allocation & Communication – Key team members introduced during initial discussions were later absent from execution, and last-minute personnel changes disrupted continuity. Ensuring a consistent team throughout the project would improve workflow and quality.
3. Better Information Flow Between UX & UI Stages – Insights and decisions from the UX phase were not properly transferred to the UI phase, requiring rework and corrections. A smoother handoff process would have prevented these issues.
4. More Iterative & Feedback-Driven Approach – The UX stage lacked an incremental approach, making early feedback difficult to implement. While UI design saw some improvements after our request, critical business requirements were still not reflected in the final work.
5. Prioritizing Quality & Completion – As a smaller project, we felt our work was deprioritized, resulting in unfinished designs, inconsistencies, and bugs that made final deliverables unusable for implementation. A more structured quality control process could have prevented this.
