As online presence is key to build trustworthy brand in investment business Tavex looked for a partner to improve online customer experience - especially in the fields of portfolio dashboard (complete redesign) as well as implementing more smaller improvements. Project is ongoing as we are in the middle of implementation and will continue to improve further elements of our e-commerce.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• We are still in the process of implementation, though even the fact that all 12 countries' managers accepted the results and are looking forward to see new design implemented is a great outcome - in every country Tavex is operating dedicated business to local market, but e-commerce solution is global.

We needed help to create a report on Black Friday that we could use on our social media to attract potential customers.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The whole report is our most popular post on Twitter; it has more than 1,000 likes and 100 shares. However, the most important thing was that Flying Bisons delivered on time. We needed it for our Black Friday campaign to use the design on our marketing materials.

Moreover, we still run ads for these posts, and they’re the most-clicked ads on our social media.

How did Flying Bisons perform from a project management standpoint?

We had two challenges throughout the project. First, I was on vacation in Spain in November, so there was a risk that the project wouldn’t be delivered on time. However, Flying Bisons met our deadline.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Flying Bisons delivered more than expected. I was on vacation, so creating the descriptions was difficult because they needed to know the people to develop credible descriptions. However, they were able to do it, and we were happy with the results.

You need to be available for discussions.

I am a CEO of Omni Calculator. We help people figure out answers to their number-based problems.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Flying Bisons?

We hired Flying Bisons to redesign the whole calculator widget (used by over 3000 calculators) from scratch. It meant figuring out new UX solutions for old problems, new features we want to include in the new version of the technology. We also wanted a new look, so UI design was done alongside the UX.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We conducted a series of preliminary workshops with several agencies, where we worked on a small subset of problems that we found hard to solve. Flying Bisons were by far the best at extracting everything they needed from us. After a short session, they had a good enough knowledge about these problems, which let them propose reasonable solutions.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

I won't do a good job at recalling the whole process, but I felt it contained all the steps necessary to arrive at results that exceeded our expectations. At first, we had a series of workshops where The Bisons learned about our product (they event went through the onboarding training that our employees go through).

Then, knowing all the problems, they spent several weeks on the research, mainly looking for benchmark solutions to each problem (it took approx. 3 weeks). Then we worked on every element of the widget - the agency would propose a solution and we'd meet (usually once a week) to discuss it (I expressed a strong desire that we are to be included in the process on a regular basis).

After several structural features were decided on, the works on the UI started in parallel to the UX. Alongside the UX/UI, we also developed a set of guidelines for Calculatorians (people who create calculators), to ensure that we produce calculators that are consistent and easy to use. We haven't done any user research on our request. I won't go into details (other than "it's hard in our case"), but the Bisons (and every other agency we talked to) advised against skipping it.

For the most part, there were two UX designers, one UI designer, a project manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I'd rather not share the deliverables, sorry. I'm happy to link to the outcome, but it won't land on production for a few more months.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was effective. The only complaint I had, in the beginning, was that it took a lot of time to start the project. We were in a bit of a hurry (we should have started earlier) and there were a few hiccups. The project started a few weeks later, but then it went according to plan. The communication went smoothly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What I found most impressive about them is "the process". It let them understand our problems, it let them name them properly, search for solutions and discuss them with us.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I don't know the reason for it, but there was a significant turnover of employees during the project. During these few months, we had two changes of the project manager, one of the UX designer and one of the UI designer. Luckily, the most impactful person stayed on the project from the very first preliminary workshop until the end.

We have been working with Flying Bisons on several UX design projects, recently on a customer journey design for a new financial online product.

We have provided Flying Bisons with specific detials of the target group as well as business requirements, including backend system specyfics. Based on that FB has designed the customer journey and created the UI for the brand. We did not have a brandbook for the new brand so it was up to FB designer to come up with all the colors and brand elements in the UI. After the designs were completed we've held some user tests after which some additional improvements were made.

We've worked with UX designers, copy writer, graphic designer, research specialist and of course project manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were happy with the deliverables we received. As soon as the development work has been completed we will conduct addtional research of the final solution and include FB in the process so that more improvements can be made on the UX.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We've had project teams on both sides - the project manager from FB side was making sure the flow of information is not blocked and that deadlines are kept by both sides.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I have very high opinion about all elements of the project - UX, UI and the copywriter. As we are a financial company we have many legal requirements that are not always logical for the customer (quite often they are not) - it is very hard to communicate to customers in a clear way at the same time respecting all the requirements.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The agency required communication on Slack - a communicator that I had to use only for this project (and it was my 5th or 6th so I would be happy to avoid it).

I’m the head of marketing at an AI-based fraud prevention company based in Poland that operates globally. We primarily work with online merchants and financial institutions, offering a proprietary online user profiling solution and tools to help our clients block risky users. Our solution provides end-to-end fraud prevention against account takeover and other cases of fraudulent activities online.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Flying Bisons?

After a few years with the current design, we needed a change. We have a new product offering, and we needed our website to be one of the main selling channels. With such a diverse audience, we needed a deep dive into their needs, not only looking at them from Nethone perspective. Our main goals were:

• Showcasing and communicating Nethone's new offering clearly and understandably for all target groups of the brand.
• Developing a tone of voice based on the language used by customers Nethone.
• Facelift of Nethone's branding that refreshes the image and allows for better communication of the new offering (two products vs one solution).
• Lead generation - changing the website's function from a 'business card' to a fully-fledged sales channel.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Flying Bisons designed our new website's UI/UX and helped us with the tone of voice and content creation. The team also produced 3D graphics and animations for us based on our branding. 

Since our product and market are complicated from a regular user's perspective, the Flying Bisons' team started with a research phase that lasted 7–8 weeks (analysis of materials & current website, meetings with internal stakeholders, design research, clients' interviews).

Based on their insight, they shared recommendations regarding the new offer's tone of voice and information architecture. They also showed initial website concepts. Then, they created the design and content roadmap and started designing the screens.

What is the team composition?

During our cooperation, we mostly worked with some senior UI/UX designers, a product strategist, and a project manager. We had a dedicated point person at Flying Bisons to contact with any questions.

How did you come to work with Flying Bisons?

We searched for the best UX/UI developers with international experience in creating websites that can sell fintech products via online channels. We were also looking for recommendations from the market. We decided to trust Flying Bisons with the project, partly because we received referrals from two companies that were in contact with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from May–October 2022. Although they finished the bulk of the work in September, they worked for a few hours in October, making final touches to the graphics and 3D animations. 

Currently, we have an agreement that if we need additional designs and extra advice on the design approach, they're open to initiating cooperation again or jumping on a call with us without signing an additional contract.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website is in development, so we don’t have any metrics yet. However, we’ve had some internal consultations, tests, and validations of the UI/UX design, and we’re sure that it’ll be a success because the first reactions have been positive.

How did Flying Bisons perform from a project management standpoint?

We worked in weekly sprints and met every Friday for a weekly summary. We also had an active Slack channel with all the teammates. Their average time to deliver design tasks was every three days. Although we had some hiccups in responding to feedback on both sides, we didn’t have any major issues with meeting deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Patience and flexibility in approach to the project. They challenged us along the way, so together, we were able to create extraordinary things. They were willing to walk us through the process while we were discovering new issues and learning new approaches. They were open to understanding our view and at the same time giving new arguments to change our very firm product offering. Flying Bisons prepared the best possible solution to display our products so that we can easily sell them and our clients can easily understand them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of an issue universal enough to be an area of opportunity. If anything, they could improve their technical copywriting. Our message is quite technical, very product-centric, and not always SEO-friendly. As a result, the copywriting took more time than initially anticipated, and the quality wasn’t initially great. We spent quite a lot of time improving that. However, this issue was also due to our sector.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

For this kind of project, it’s important to define expectations and tasks. While you may have a definition of research, it’s important to detail what that looks like. Moreover, it’s essential to have a dedicated project manager who constantly communicates with the team. If you focus on these aspects at the beginning of your cooperation with Flying Bisons, everything will be faster and better later.

I’m the omnichannel director for a medium-sized furniture retailer. I’m responsible for our e-commerce website, contact center, and other processes.

What challenge were you trying to address with Flying Bisons?

We’d just launched our new website, CRM, and external communications process, but we weren’t satisfied with how our automated communication functioned. We engaged Flying Bisons to improve our automated client communication to make it more professional.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We wanted to work with an agency who could augment our internal capabilities as needed, so we started with a trial project. We met with Flying Bisons to discuss our goals and determine the project scope. Then, the team worked on all the facets of our automated client communications, including our brand voice, tone, visuals, marketing emails, and overall style. They redesigned the UI/UX of our marketing emails using Figma. Flying Bisons also helped our organization with another project I wasn’t involved in.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We initially engaged Flying Bisons for a trial period and ended up extending the partnership, which is its own success metric. We also measured success by comparing their proposed time estimates with their turnaround times, and we were satisfied with the results. They helped us define our brand voice and raise the bar to elevate our standards for external communication. 

How did Flying Bisons perform from a project management standpoint?

Flying Bisons ran the project very well. Our account manager was responsible for delivering cost summaries, scheduling tasks, managing campaigns, and keeping track of our time and materials.  They were very professional and submitted deliverables on schedule, which was great. 

Although they’re not the cheapest option, they effectively communicated costs, and we were satisfied with their cost summaries. We met regularly via Microsoft Teams, and they did a great job adjusting to our internal processes. Their offices were nearby, so they even came into our offices to meet face-to-face. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with the high standards Flying Bisons held themselves to throughout our partnership. They were willing to approach the project from different creative viewpoints and consider our suggestions to deliver the best result possible. We’ve never worked with a service provider who was so willing to iterate and apply our feedback to achieve success. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing Flying Bisons could improve on. There was one instance where we weren’t pleased with the quality of the mock-ups, but when we shared our feedback, they made the corrections free of charge.

I’m the CTO of Sklepy Komfort, a furniture and home decor accessories company. I'm responsible for the e-commerce and technological aspects of the corporation.

We wanted to introduce a new e-commerce brand to the market. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Flying Bisons’ team worked in Figma to develop our UX/UI design for our new e-commerce platform. We wanted them to understand our company before starting the design because it was the first time we introduced a new brand to the market. It was tricky for them to understand our business because we’ve been in business for 30 years, and it can be hard to communicate all of the aspects of our company. 

We also needed Flying Bisons to understand our target audience and what we wanted to achieve. Despite some initial challenges where we weren’t prepared at the beginning of the project, they were able to deliver a brand and UX/UI design that we provided feedback on.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Flying Bisons delivered a product that was of higher quality than we expected. We’ve had a lot of good feedback from businesses who’ve worked with our new e-commerce brand. They’ve confirmed that the brand and the communication around it are understandable and connect with our audience. 

The combination of the new brand with the new target audience was great. We’re currently working on implementation, so there aren’t any specific metrics I can share yet. 

How did Flying Bisons perform from a project management standpoint?

The project timeline was very short — they had only eight weeks to complete it. Flying Bisons was able to meet our deadline while staying within budget. This project was managed by the project manager, who liaison with our stakeholders. 

We communicate clearly with their team through emails and Microsoft Teams meetings. We even have one-to-one meetings. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I liked how their team connected the dots of our business to communicate our new brand. I also liked their modern UX/UI designs for the e-commerce site.

Everything was great.

I advise giving them a short deadline — they can deliver within eight weeks and possibly meet shorter deadlines. Flying Bisons see short timelines as challenges to take on.

I’m the co-founder and CEO of MoonieNFT, a play-to-earn platform for gaming. We’ve been active in the niche of cryptocurrencies and developed our own token collection.

What challenge were you trying to address with Flying Bisons?

We noticed that the gaming industry had many projects that lacked the proper mechanics behind their ecosystem and looked shady. Therefore, we wanted to deliver a solution that made sense and was economically sustainable — since most cryptocurrencies are associated with scams or fraud. In general, we wanted to deliver something trustworthy that could deliver funds to our users.

To fulfill our vision, we needed a proper brand strategy and art direction to catch the customers’ attention even before bringing our products to life. We needed support on UX/UI and web development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Flying Bisons has done more than just UX/UI design and development for our website and NFTs. They’ve used Figma for the design and worked on part of our Web3 platform. They’ve focused on the backend, which integrates our games and blockchain functionality.

The main work is done, but we’re still in touch with them. Flying Bisons maintains the website, so all the gaming infrastructure on the backend is on their side. If we need quick changes, they help us to move forward. We contact them regarding the information about leaderboards from our games and more.

Multiple people have participated in the project. We’ve worked with around 20 people, from C-level executives like the CTO, CEO, and CFO to regular employees. We’ve collaborated with the design, managing, and research team leaders, as well as product managers, technical people, and developers.

A partner recommended them, and we worked together 2–3 years earlier on a different project. Initially, we contacted several agencies, but they didn’t understand our model. We approached Flying Bisons again; they were interested in this area, and we really matched together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to Flying Bisons, we managed to close the initial funding from selling our tokens and NFTs. Moreover, we’ve over $800,000 in token sales and sold over $1 million worth of NFTs. We also have thousands of game users and over 60,000 holders of our collections. 

How did Flying Bisons perform from a project management standpoint?

If we have something urgent, they’re always ready to work after hours or on weekends to meet the deadline. Although that increases the budget, we’ve never had an issue with it. We always agree on the terms.

We currently use Telegram to communicate; they didn’t have a problem switching from Slack. They also use a tool to track progress and tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re flexible about communication and proactive in their approach. The team is available and willing to work together.

You should know what you want to do. Also, be ready to work hard to keep up with their pace because they might be even faster than your own team.

They designed the website from scratch based on initial mock-ups and concepts. They then delivered a general landing page where we’ll add features later on. As for content creation, they provide us with white paper projects, pitch decks, and blog articles.

The Flying Bisons team worked in a very structured way from the beginning and got an overall picture of our requirements. furthermore, they were very honest about what we wanted. a lot of the ideas were accepted but as an expert they also made different suggestions that we were not aware of and they were very helpful.

they also introduced weekly sprints, which helped us get quick results and put us under some pressure to give immediate feedback and make decisions for further development. Each appointment was carefully prepared and we were guided in detail through every view. The way of communication was also very understandable and positive.

We’re very pleased with the deliverables from their team. We’ve tested it with several potential customers, and the feedback has been outstanding. Our developer is also very happy with the views as they are very convenient for him to implement. Their work also perfectly reflects the vision we had at the start, helping us create a user friendly and easy to navigate website.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The weekly sprints were very helpful. In addition, it must be said that we sometimes took longer than necessary. Flying Bisons were always persistent in the right tone to remind us of our feedback. All in all, everything was delivered on time. There were no personal meetings, we made video calls.

Every employee was very committed, trustworthy, and perfectionist. They did not treat our project as a job but were a part of us during the project. This is very rare and was not only effective but very fun to work with.
