BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I work for a charitable organisation in the UK that supports Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure they have the skills they need now and in the future. I am the Senior Product Manager and I am responsible for creating our own product strategy, and also creating bespoke products for customers with specific needs.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Fluff Software, and what were your goals?

We have worked with Fluff Digital on several occasions over a 3 year period. The project I will focus on here was for a client who had a specific need to attract people from outside their industry very quickly as a result of covid. We needed to show users how their skills were transferable to the industry in question.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have worked with Fluff before, and when deciding to use Fluff, we went through a procurement process where they came out on top. Scott, the founder, is incredibly personable and flexible, and a fantastic communicator at all levels. He is calm, professional, and innovative, and a real pleasure to work with. Fluff work with you to find the right solution at the right cost, and take into account the nature of your business and how best to work together.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

They designed a solution and worked closely with our data science team to create a superior user experience that simplified a very complex backend. They ensured the branding of our tool matched the client website and provided a seamless user experience.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There was a Project Sponsor, Project Manager, Product Owner, UX designer, Data Scientist and Data Analyst, plus the client who was guiding and validating the resultant outcomes.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The client is keen to work with us on another phase to further enhance the solution.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Scott and the team are very flexible and will work in the way we prefer, so in this case, Teams and DevOps, with regular attendance at Stand ups, retros, sprint planning, backlog refinement. He is always very responsive to emails and messages and I am 100% sure we are in safe hands.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Scott's expertise and broad skillset. Their ability to talk to clients, project team, technical staff, and business partners were second to none.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Honestly, no. I find Fluff a real pleasure to work with.
