What challenge were you trying to address?
We were trying to revamp our brand Sensilia internally by rebuilding our design system and brand art direction. After month of struggling to find the new creative work, we decided to get help from the FiftySeven Agency, lead by Petar.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement and team dynamic?
The scope was difficult. The project was already part on its way when we took decided to call for external help. We booked a 1 month agency retainer with a clear but challenging parallel approach : Building the art direction while designing a dozen of high value website marketing component. Fifity Seven was put in charge of layout, low-fi design, hi-fi design of those designated figma based components.

What's the status of this engagement?

 The engagement was absolute from start to finish. Fifity Seven has made great efforts to meet with the deadline and quality expectencies which were pretty high. The results are trully astonishing.

How did your relationship with your partner evolve?
 The working relationship has evolved in a incredibly positive manner. Fifty Seven has always provided such a clear path for each project. Their creativity, productivity and professionnal stance is beyond the charts.

In what ways can they improve?

 I honestly can not say what they should improve. I have not been disappointed by any of the agency workflows and skills.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

To get the most of Fifty Seven, I suggest to respect the point of view of creators and have a clear mind about the reality of the constraints of the project. Also, Designers are always in a much more efficient when their customers can give fast and precise feedbacks.

We had to design 8 packagings and bottles screenprinting for our brand new skincare range.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I found FiftySeven on Dribble and hired them for a past experience. As it was very successful, i hired the agency once again for this bigger and much more complex project. I have work with many designers in my life and and parts that are often overlooked is attention to details, project and deadlines management as well as mind openness and communication flows.

Fifty Seven team, as well as being unbelievable designers, are also very much competent in management which is reassuring as a customer or prospect.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We brought a brief including mood boards and packaging contents. We described the brand position and market target. Fifty Seven have asked very specific informations about indrustrial constraints we did not thought about, and protected us for various disapointments we could have had later on.

Once the brief was fully ready, the work has been very fluent with weekly and daily meetings and discussions. The direction was clear and we have been able to move forward quickly.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I believe 3 or 4 people in total were part time or full time working on the project. We never felt like ressources were insuffisant as deadlines were always respected.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Any outcomes can be seen on our website www.sensilia.com (skincare packaging design).

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very effective with the use of Figma, Google Drive and Slack.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Although FiftySeven is mostly reknowned for their work on UI, website design, brand identity and more, packaging design is quite hard and usually specialized, which did not prevent them from being excellent at the job.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I could not really think of any bad surprises during this project. Obviously quality comes at a certain cost, but that cost was matching the budget we had. I would definitely choose FIFTYSEVEN® for any serious design project in the future.

Roswell retained Fifty Seven initially for rebranding including the full build of the Roswell website to coincide with the branding. The goal was to create a strong brand presence to match the disruptive game-changing nature of Roswell's molecular electronics technology. The project was challenging as its essence was the merging of two industries, biology, and semiconductors onto the molecular electronics platform technology, which required creative storytelling to pull this off.

The key deliverable included an integrated powerful brand, and associated collateral, and a brand-new website. The second phase of the project engagement was to support the unveiling of the world's first molecular electronics chip, which was a live event in San Diego supported by branding and marketing collateral including explainer videos, marketing collateral, landing page etc.

They primarily used the Figma platform to manage the overall project. Work was assigned and tracked on this common platform which allowed the various users to provide input in parallel. Weekly meetings focus on closing and assigning new tasks for the next week.

FiftySeven stayed very responsive, and managed deliverables very well, and generally met their delivery times. They control outcomes by highlighting any changes in the scope and their impact on the timeline, enabling critical decision-making on the fly.

We needed a complete branding overhaul, from website to logo. The website needed to be professional, current, and different from our competition. Our logo - the same.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were given them as a reference from our VC, and spoke to a few companies who also used them. Our decision was relatively quick as everyone we asked had nothing but good things to say.

We had an initial kick off meeting to discuss the project goals, the first steps were developing a mood board, the logo, fonts, etc. After these were decided, they put the website together using Figma, where we were able to review it before publishing. Other tech used is Netlify and Sanity.

We worked with mainly the whole team, so project managers, stack developers, etc.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After the website launch, we had nothing but good feedback. Its still a bit too early to determine website traffic - but overall the results have been only positive.

We had biweekly/monthly meetings on updates and deliverables, we mostly had meetings via google meets and zoom. If there were delays - they let us know right away.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We gave them complete creative control, and they understood exactly what we wanted. We really liked the fact that they communicated effectively, and when we had an issue pop up - they responded quickly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nope! They were amazing!

We needed to rebrand and redesign the entire Kollabo brand.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We first had a negotiation phase, so the first milestone was agreeing on the project’s terms. FiftSeven then provided us with a project timeline, which let us know when milestones would be delivered and how much the milestones would cost.

FiftySeven created a logo and style guide and then defined the color schemes. Afterward, their team applied the materials to several brand assets such as business cards, banners, and social media profiles.

FiftySeven also designed our WordPress website and the implementation was done in-house. Their team created the UX/UI and mobile versions of them. They crafted individual effects and illustrations.

Our primary contact was their project manager, but we also worked with FiftySeven’s founder, a web designer, and a few other teammates.

One of our venture capital investors reached out to their network and an online investment platform highly recommended FiftySeven. That was how we found them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project involved a design process, which doesn’t yield quantitative results; either you like the designs, or you don’t like them. We liked the designs a lot and had great feedback from customers and partners. We had timeline proposals for when they would deliver results. FiftySeven always delivered on time.

We also liked that FiftySeven had high expectations for themselves. Even if it took a long time to create a design, they wouldn’t just deliver an unfinished product. Their team would finish their work. We felt that their team wanted to provide us with extraordinary deliverables.

How did FiftySeven® perform from a project management standpoint?

During the project, we had a call every week or every two weeks. FiftySeven always exactly met the proposed deadlines. We received weekly deliveries on Saturday night on occasion because it took them longer to finish a task than Friday. Regarding our own internal business deadlines, however, they were always met.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed by their aspiration to create extraordinary designs. They wanted to outperform our expectations. Their team was passionate about branding.

We previously worked with designers who only wanted to finish the project. FiftySeven was on another level. Their team wasn’t only happy when we were happy. Their passion drove them to go the extra mile. It was a superior performance and better than anything I’ve seen ever before.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we were super happy.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Do your research to ensure that you understand the story that you want your brand to tell. Spend time thinking about your brand and finding other brands for inspiration. It’s also helpful to research your competition.

Give FiftySeven an idea of what you would like them to create. Their team’s also helpful in the process. Try to prepare, but they’ll help you if you didn’t prepare.

I’m the marketing director for KaiOS. We have an operating system for smart feature phones. They’re like older phones that have buttons rather than a touch screen, but they’re modernized. They have anything someone would find on a smart phone, like an app store. It’s especially focused on emerging markets where people can’t afford smartphones.

What challenge were you trying to address with FiftySeven®?

We did quite a few projects. We had a lot of ongoing design and web development requirements ongoing, but we didn’t have the inhouse resources to complete them.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did an app project for our phones that would help teach users digital skills, like using the internet, through mobile. They developed a Drupal website that is optimized for KaiOS. Our operating system is completely web-based, so if users want to make an app for our users, they need to use HTML5  and JavaScript.

They also helped upgrade our brand guidelines.  The final deliverable was a PDF with our brand standards. We had some brand guidelines in place, but it was a bit outdated. I worked with FiftySeven® to upgrade those standards. Rather than starting from scratch, we improved the layout, copy, templates, and visual elements.

I worked with three people — Marko (Brand Designer), Petar (Founder & Designer), and the UX designer.

Their work is decent for the amount they’re charging. They’re also quite versatile, considering they’ve done everything from web development to brand standards. The Drupal site and app is still running. They’ve also helped us a lot throughout that period because we didn’t have the in-house design resources. It was a great cooperation.

How did FiftySeven® perform from a project management standpoint?

It has been very good. The communication is clear, and they’re always on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication and ability to understand the requirements has been good. Even though there was some distance between us and we never met in person, we always communicated clearly and they understood what needed to be done. They delivered a product of decent quality at a reasonable price.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The quality of their visual work is decent, but I didn’t think we could do an entire rebrand from scratch because that requires another level of design, thinking, and strategy, and I wasn’t sure they had those capabilities. However, for what they charge, that makes sense. We’re trying to build a global brand, so I think they’d be better suited for a smaller company looking for branding work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I was used to working with people in a remote and distributed capacity, which I know can be difficult for people who aren’t used to collaborating like that. So, clients need to get used to working with people in a different time zone.

Overall, the core of what they designed is what we are using to develop the app. The concept has evolved a bit, of course, and some of what they designed wasn’t entirely feasible when we developed it. The joint way of working was highly effective. It was shaped by strong work sprints, highly original design sessions and deep discussions. The project was not easy for us, since our brand and its promise is at the heart of what we do. Fifty Seven was a partner that we could trust with this.

2 things:

1. Fifty Seven's level of dedication blew us away. We were not easy partners who always had strong opinions. But so did Fifty Seven. Their designs and concepts were well thought through and in many instances they convinced us to trust their thought leadership. We never regretted it.
2. Fifty Seven's originality. We never had any generic ideas in the project.

Given its importance, it was an intense project. But we would not change anything about it as we are very happy with the results.

To successfully develop media to showcase the goals and innovation of the company and to demonstrate this to customers, investors and others. These goals were met and massively exceeded by the Fifty-Seven team and we were more than pleased with the end results.

We selected the duo (Petar and Marko) after a number of conversations due to their innovation and ability to understand and then translate our thoughts into solid outputs for a very affordable fee.

This project consisted of three parts - Slide deck development - Fifty Seven where able to take an earlier version of our slide deck and translate this into a solid visual business plan which has allowed us to have key conversations with corporate customers and investors. - Logo design - The team at Fifty Seven carried out key work to develop the logo, brand identity and other key items which fed into our story - Website - The team developed the website end to end including design, helping with the story telling and technical/ launch of the website, helping to draft in a solid network of copywriters, webdesign and others to ensure this process was as seamless as possible (health-x.co)

The day to day interaction was with Petar and Marko, a very efficient, responsive and dynamic team who "owned" the project and were able to effectively harness our ideas and translate this into physical design outputs. Petar led on the strategic direction and Marko on crafting this into physical outputs. They were also assisted by a small team of inhouse and external colleagues who were able to fill the gaps i.e copywriting etc, when required.

Excellent communication and feedback of ideas from the client to the Fifty-Seven design team into the design process. I don't think I could have asked for a more responsive team. even when our team was snowed- they chased and ensure that all the project milestones were achieved in time. Better than expected feedback from people who have seen the outputs - design, website and pitch deck
