Our company operates in Environmental Industry, B2B services and consulting, environmental studies and trainings, also we organize various environmental events and activities, our organization is non-profit and operates on sponsored and service provision fees.

• Our main goal was to bring people to environmental activities via gamification to increase their environmental background and improve environmental situation in their local areas and regions
• We had just an idea, and needed strong development team who could create processes, functions and turn our ideas in to a digital platform/application

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

They have created all schemes (system architecture, user flows, user maps) of the processes, workflows, had proceed precise work on implementation of business model in to the application. EZtech team dived all processes in phases with global, mid-tier and low-level tasks for design, backend, frontend and testing period.

Our key deliverables was having: public eco-tasks and events on the map, so users can interact, complete them and receive rewards on their completion after moderation of provided reports, news feed, eco-market where people can spend their rewards and get discounts, training model with tests, personal tasks module for each user and other small user related conveniences for persuading people to be more eco-friendly and active.

Due to requirements of creation unique features, EZtech proposed and defended usage of Python (Django) for backend and Native (Swift and Java/Kotlin) mobile application development for frontend, because of constant interaction of application with mobile devices’ hardware. Beautiful UX UI design and fully functioning like real app prototype was done on Figma.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Mostly it was very good planning at the beginning, it seems EZtech used hybrid of Kanban and Agile project management methodologies, because we had very limited timeframes and budget and couldn’t afford ourselves pure Agile, so developers team did awesome job on planning which features and tasks are core and have high priority. EZtech was using 1-2 weeks sprints, because we were always invited to the demos each week or once in two weeks.

For communication we were mostly using live meetings and online video calls, also we had group chat, where we could provide some feedback or have quick discussions. It seems EZtech uses couple project management applications, we’ve seen that they were using Asana a lot, and other application I’m not quite familiar with. For the project planning and following up the current situation we had google docs and sheets files, because it was most convenient for us. All needs were covered and project was done in expeted time frames.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team is amazing. We have never met such supportive and creative people in IT industry before, while brainstorming and developing our application they were thinking and caring about the product as it was their own product and were constantly providing us with ideas and improvements and stopping us from unwise or very risky decisions providing real-life justifications.

They even helped us with our marketing processes and event organization, which was very kind of them. I would say that they dramatically improved our team technologically, because we were learning how some processes can be done more effectively and faster. Also, we’ve got full technical support, EZtech team was with us on pitches of our ready product for grants and acceleration programs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something {provider_name} could have done differently?

The only thing they need is to grow further, they have great experience on delivering high value EdTech, Fintech, Eco-tech, E-commerce and startup projects, they should show up more cases they had proceed. Also having such team, they easily could bring their own product that will be in demand and gather lots of positive feedback. Hope to see their own product in the future. I will just wish them success, stay creative and environmentally friendly how they are now.
