What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?Over the past few years, we spent well into the 7-figures on engineering talent (mostly international contractors from all over the world - South America, Europe, and Asia) and worked with half a dozen engineering teams. Evenstar was, without a doubt, one of the top teams we've engaged. The devs were skilled coders and pleasant people, which always makes a big difference when we talk about months of work together. They consistently hit their timelines and targets and even suggested continuous improvements to the project. The project manager was involved but not over-involved. We could speak directly to the devs multiple times per week, which made the process much more efficient (no middlemen). We vowed a long time ago never to work with agencies that shield their talent behind a project manager who can never truly understand every little nuance of the work being done. With Evenstar, that wasn't the case. The project manager was there when we needed her (for occasional touchpoints, billing, or feedback) but never tried to fit herself between us and the devs. With the ability to speak with the devs weekly and the project manager's feedback requests every month or so, we could move fast and make adjustments to the dev's performance. **The Review** — Aug 24, 2022

The team communicates well with the client, and they provide ongoing support for the client. They ask the right questions, ensuring a thorough understanding before execution.
""The developers are fast and smart.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm one of the owners of a medium size construction company providing masonry supply and installation services. In Toronto, Canada.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire The Evenstar, and what were your goals?

Our team realized early on in business that the construction industry has a lot of outdated methods of searching, finding, and ordering construction materials. Our goal is to change this and build an ecosystem for contractors homeowners, suppliers, and manufacturers to work in a systematic way that keeps everyone working in a real-time environment.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I found The Evenstar online and decided to first test working with them to see if they were a good fit. We tried working with other services and developers remotely many times and the quality of work was not to our satisfaction. The Evenstar was our last try before hiring locally. Obviously, the test went well as we are still working with them today!

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We've worked on 3 separate projects that all connect back to each other, including a supplier portal for suppliers to manage their online business, a marketplace for buyers to connect with suppliers and find stocked building materials, and a take-off application for the construction industry to quantify materials from the marketplace and get accurate pricing for projects.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Ive worked with two front-end developers. Julia has been with us for 1 year and leads the frontend development. Julia has worked on all 3 applications. Anastasia is the other front-end developer and has been with us for about 6 months now. Anastasia works on the take-off application.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We have almost completed the entire system in the last year working together, and the developers have a great understanding of the product.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

I have actually taken the time to do most of the project management for this work, but if I need any help from The Evenstar there and been there to support us!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The developers are fast and smart, they will ask all the needed questions before trying to dive into the project so they have a full understanding before execution

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, not really anything to say here.

I am the co-founder of Spoonity. We are a loyalty gift card platform that offers white-label mobile applications and mobile payment options mostly to restaurants.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with The Evenstar?

The Evenstar built two complementary applications for us that are not necessarily core to our platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The Evenstar built a web-based loyalty and gift card processing application for use in store, and a dashboard for clients to manage their loyalty card program. They built both applications using AngularJS and standard coding languages such as HTML and CSS.

What is the team composition?

We worked with one primary developer and one secondary developer that handled a smaller component of the project.

How did you come to work with The Evenstar?

Another company in Ottawa referred them to us. We decided to hire them based on their professionalism and their ability to work without much oversight.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost between $25,000–$30,000 CAD (approximately $19,000–$23,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We have been working with them since February 2017.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The Evenstar was able to build us two projects that were launched to client locations and are being successfully implemented by our customers. We are generally satisfied with the quality of their work and their ability to met our technical requirements.

How did The Evenstar perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Jira to communicate with them, assign tasks, and track progress. We have found them to be reliable and trustworthy, and the hours they work match up with ours very well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their key strength is probably their communication abilities. Even though they are located overseas, they always understand our technical requirements and translate them into a viable product without any language barrier. They also have a very impressive ability to generate frontend design that matches their initial proposal, something that doesn’t happen in this industry very often.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although we have never asked them to do this, they could try to estimate work and time estimates ahead of time as opposed to working on a task-by-task basis.

## Portfolio & Awards

### NFT collection: Transformer of Tesla Cybertrack
The project’s goal was to create a 3D model of the Tesla Cybertrack Transformer using the original sketches provided by the client. It was required to show maximum creativity and knowledge as the sketches were not completed and did not give a final understanding of what the Transformer should look like in the end. We studied the references of Transformers, their nature, and essence and consulted with fans of the series to better understand what a Transformer is and how it transforms.
We started creating the Transformer from the sketches to the final one-piece mechanical entity. While working, we shared with the client our recomendations and suggestions how to improve concept at each stage, made corrections in the topology and polished the design.

### Spoonity
The Future of Loyalty is in Spoonity Web On Screen App - clients use this base to create a custom app with their design and features. We built a web-based loyalty program as a gift card processing application for in-store use and a dashboard for clients to manage their loyalty card program using Angular and standard coding languages such as HTML and CSS.
The App provides customer interaction and has tools for engaging, direct connections, and researching customer interests.
The application includes:

a customizable application setup (this makes it possible for any restaurant to customize the application to fit their needs).

customer registration and authorization.

the ability to pay bills through the application and the opportunity to use loyalty points to purchase rewards

access to view the user's data, transaction history, and other operations

access to use the application on different devices.

The development of this application included the following:

Architecture planning

The choice of the software stack for solving the tasks

The development of all the application components

Testing

Launched 10 years ago, the company Spoonity develops loyalty and payment programs for restaurants and grocers. Spoonity has an expert approach to implementing solutions that meet unique business needs. These help businesses grow, keep customer retention and engagement, and generate online sales with mobile ordering and payment. About 8.5 million people use a variation of the company’s app. Spoonity works with more than 200 brands – including Burger King and Dunkin’ Donuts - and local mainstays such as Kettleman’s Bagel Co. Spoonity now has customers in 25 countries.

Spoonity never stopped growing and improving new features to the App, making it the most suitable App for customer needs.

### Olsson & Gerthel
The main purpose of the project was to make an application that allows users to redesign their apartments online by getting new design versions as well as interior elements. The clients are able to provide the existing apartment floor and wall plans, images, add various items to keep and select the design that they prefer. We have solely developed the app pages for both clients (where users are able to provide the information about their apartment rooms as well as their enhancement desires in order to receive a completely new offer on the interior) and admins (where admins can see information about current projects and offer proposals).

### 3D model of Warcraft-3 Marshal
In this project client had a vision how the final version should look like and our main part of the work was to suggest detailed design solution and made all tech setting according tasks. We made the armor retopology according to the modern low poly principle. In this way, we made the edges of the 3D model into rounded surfaces that contain enough polygons to make the model look smooth. At the same time, we optimized unnoticeable parts of the armor to the minimum required condition. A game-ready asset has a low polygon mesh that doesn't waste triangles and can be well deformed and shaped. This part is important for displaying moving 3D models in the game without delays and loss of quality graphics. Also we made further optimizing the 3D model to be game-ready. Since the client wants to use the model in various projects, we made different versions of the Knight from the 3D model the client provided, but in a certain quality that suits other formats.

### Material Order Desk
Order Desk changed how to order building materials by creating a platform for buying, selling, and managing orders for millions of people without headache. Order Desk gives the upper hand to users by using software solutions on the platform that make ordering fast and easy to process.
We develop the heart of the platform - a Custom Management System that allows content creation, editing, and managing. The system also regularly updates the data for a quick and smooth functioning website. In addition, the CMS focuses on the building industry in which the company operates and contains all the necessary fields and specific information about each product.
An easy-to-use platform has features that meet the needs of all sides - Contractors, Architects & Designers, Building Suppliers, Manufacturers, and Buyers. The Custom Management System has a user control panel with a graphical interface, which provides all the necessary tools for convenient, safe, and fast work. This control panel makes the interaction between the site and the user easy and intuitive.  Order Desk offers consumers a practical, well-organized, and better shopping experience by implementing software solutions.

### The Power of 3D Viewer

To create a 3D Viewer, web developers work alongside 3D designers to program the 3D components of the graphics. The Evenstar team offers a range of technologies, including Threejs, Babylon, and plain WebGL. Our developers select the technology based on the client's website's tech stack, usually using Threejs or React-Three-Fiber if the site is built on React, ensuring consistency and optimal performance.
3D visualization adds a touch of realism, and customers can get a better feel of their product’s texture, structure, and other essential details like the product's size, quality, and materials.

The application development includes a choice of the technology stack, architectural planning, the development of all application components, and testing. Users can view 3D models in a player window implemented with WebGL and the latest 3D rendering standards.

The clock model in the 3D Viewer has the next list of possibilities and effects incorporated into it:

It uses an environment map to simulate reflections on the glass when rotated.

The watch displays real-time data and location information based on the time zone.

We designed the watch hands to match the color of the watch case.

The contact shadows are visible on the horizontal surfaces.

The rotation is merely an animation of the position, not a special effect.

The body has five color variants, each featuring an animated color transition.

Incorporate branding into the 3D model; for example, we added the logo of The Evenstar onto the clock screen.

The Evenstar can create a 3D Viewer App for your website, complete with all the scenes explicitly developed for you and compatible with all the major 3D file formats. With our app, you won't have to worry about installing additional third-party apps, meeting system requirements, or finding technical support, making it the perfect solution for showcasing your products or designs on any device.

### Bathroom wall configurator
The 3D Interior Configurator is a web application that runs in a browser without requiring significant resources to work online. The exceptional feature of this project is high photorealism and high speed in delivering results. A configurator can change the parameters in 3D, such as the texture and colors of walls in the interior. Try to use it right now - https://bathroom-configurator.herokuapp.com/

In this case, the suggested solution will be useful for interior design companies and real estate middle business companies looking to optimize their work from the technical side.

### Desinion
The main purpose of this work was the creation of web application, in which the user could generate the web-form for the preliminary designer’s consideration as well as getting feedbacks from other users before approving the design.
Our team created the web application, in which the animated form elements are generated (such as text areas, inputs, checkboxes, image uploaders, calendar, etc.). After the form is created, it is possible to either save it as a template and use it further as a basis for the other templates or to send for designer’s consideration.

### 3D model of Basketball
The goal of the project was to create a photo-realistic 3D model of the BasketBall from photos and transfer the inscriptions from a ball's surface to a 3D model while complying with the utmost accuracy and size of the inscriptions. 3D model should be optimizate for WebGL standards,as the client's intended to trade it as an NFT at online marketplaces.

### Heroic Footman.
We created a 3D model using Knight Footman references from cinematic videos. At the client's request during the development, we tried to adhere as much as possible to the original videos and references to make the 3D model come as close as possible to the film. We then imported the final 3D model into Skyrim as a modification.
We recycled the Heroic Footman’s primary weapon from scratch. The client provided the original Footman sword and asked us to redesign the concept to make the sword more interesting and beautiful. It took four hours to complete the sword concept and realize it as an additional 3D model, the Sword of the Fallen Knight.

### Lifted CRM
The team of Lifted helps more than 7 Million students with learning disabilities to achieve success in the classroom through a CRM system. We develop custom features of the CRM that meet the specific educational processes of the online platform.
A personalized approach for the clients is achieved by using custom features in the CRM like customer cards, chat, customer life cycle, segmentation, limited access to features depending on roles, and displaying statistical information with charts and grids.

With Lifted, the educational process becomes interesting as the interface of the CRM shows the task interactively. But most importantly in work, for children with disabilities, Lifted tracks all the necessary data to make the educational process smooth and seamless. Lifted has a mission and a custom CRM system to help achieve a successful educational experience.

### 3D Viewer
3D Model Viewer is a web player (application) that allows customers to view 3D models. The player includes:

Review three-dimensional models in various formats (Obj, fbx, lh) with different texture formats supported (Bmp, Tga, Png, Jpg, Jpeg).
Camera movement, rotation, zoom.
Displaying of animated models.
Change of textures, animations, models.

The user can view 3D models in the player window. It was implemented with using WebGL and the latest standards in the area of 3D models rendering.
The app presentation was done with layouts according to all modern technologies using UNITY 3D as well as adaptive layout was implemented for displaying of the application on different devices.
The application development included: choice of technology’s stack, architecture planning for the application, development of all application components, testing.
