Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

To develop an advanced search platform, which would facilitate access to intellectual property data and information by linking to the client data, and be a highly versatile and scalable solution. The key capabilities of the platform was to provide search by sound, search by image, online translation, and extensive AI-driven search functionality. 

We commissioned eSpace as delivery partner under our solution architecture and management, to achieve the following key deliverables: Project Charter & Project Plan Workshop & Data Collection Business requirement document Technical tasks document for building the platform Prototyping & System Configuration Data Migration UAT-User Acceptance Testing Go-Live implementation Knowledge Transfer and Training User Manuals

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Project Success: Search results have met 80% general accuracy, 95% accuracy when searching by keyword, and at least 80% accuracy when searching by image or sound. The sound search functionality (Search by Voice) is working using multiple language inputs (Google API). The efficiency of the prior art search is boosted through intuitive and extensive search capabilities. Improved measures about the overall customer experience. 

Compliance with standards. Bi-lingual (English and Arabic) search functionality. Ability to provide access to all data provided the client, whether through current data or APIs. The system is adaptable to third-party data through either direct imports or APIs. Compliance with Laws & regulations. Project Goals: IP Rights extensive search function for Examiners. IP Rights search function for Public. Formal examination. Prior IP search.

eSpace utilise a combination of a Delivery Manager, Product Owner, and Scrum Master, all operating in tandem, which worked very well for us. The Product Owner served as the main collaboration point between eSpace, us, and the client. eSpace also adapted very well to our blended project management approach. 

Deliverables have been made very often before time or on time, exceeding expectations. eSpace were have a great working and collaboration culture, and have been very responsive and accommodating to a very challenging and demanding high-profile project.

Its collaboration, responsiveness, and 'can do' ethos. Also, the wide range of staff proficient, qualified, and up-to-date with the trends and protocols in the software industry.

None. We are very satisfied with their work.

I’m the former product manager at a government holding company.

The company needed help with development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

eSpace has worked on several projects for my former company. Two projects they did were from-scratch mobile and web applications. The web project included developing the backend administration functions and the frontend for users to interact with. We put some restrictions on their mobile app development — we didn’t want to do Native development. So, they ensured the mobile was a hybrid and compatible with iOS and Android. 

Their team also helped with DevOps since they were very experienced. Their team consulted with us, providing a lot of help because they were very experienced in that domain. 

How did you come to work with eSpace?

It wasn’t my decision to work with eSpace; they were already working with my former company on a project. 

What is the status of this engagement?

My former company’s partnership began in January 2015, and I believe it is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

At the time, I was very pleased with the web application eSpace delivered; it was very responsive. However, the mobile application had some issues, but it was because of the development restrictions we had. eSpace did their best and adhered to our requirements, but the mobile app was unsuccessful. 

How did eSpace perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated with eSpace through Slack, email, and WhatsApp. Their team was very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It was very nice to work with eSpace. Their resource availability, management, communication, and skills were impressive. I appreciated the commitment they had to our project. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We didn’t have any major issues — they were able to deliver everything we asked for. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

This isn’t specific to eSpace, but being respectful to any vendor will yield better results for the customer.

I'm the former digital product manager of an e-commerce company.

What challenge were you trying to address with eSpace?

We hired them to develop a web and mobile application for an e-commerce solution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

eSpace Software Development took over the development work from another vendor. They continued building the UI/UX design and the mobile application for iOS and Android. The web application wasn't an app for the end user; it was a platform for administration and API integration. In terms of technologies, they used PHP, Laravel, and PostgreSQL.

What is the team composition?

The project manager was my main point of contact.

How did you come to work with eSpace?

I had worked with them before in another company, so I recommended them to my former company.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January–November 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

eSpace gave us good quality and showed commitment to the project, and we were impressed with the capability of the team and the availability of resources for our needs. Overall, they were the best based on my experience with different companies.

How did eSpace perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very responsive and communicative and documented everything. Regarding tools, we used Jira for the project management as we were working with Agile methodology for development, Slack, WhatsApp, phone calls, and emails.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were respectful, professional in communication, and flexible whenever we needed anything. Moreover, we had no language barrier, so we communicated easily with them and ensured to understand what we wanted.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have different prices for different project sizes — I felt they were expensive for small projects.

Any advice for potential customers?

Have clearly defined requirements and keep communication open.

We needed to develop custom cloud based software to handle our operations and financial system

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Personal connection with company founders and their excellent reputation as we needed to develop a reliable software that can handle high data load with no tolerance for errors or bugs

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

They developed a custom made operation management cloud based software for us to meet our requirements. Initially we had 2 meetings to discuss scope of work and build the stories for development team. Project was executed in 2 phases each comprising of 4 sprints ( 2 weeks / sprint) followed by testing of deliverables and feedback on a demo server and launching at the end of each phase going live online as agreed. Ruby on rails, postgres, react, graphQL, docker and Nginx were used

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Each phase was launched on time with very reliable workflow. The software helped us to enhance our service scope being fast, reliable and user friendly to our clients and staff with very short learning curves.

Project managers were very cooperative and replied to our inquiries and demands in timely manner. The whole experience was extremely smooth.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were very impressed that the delivered software was very smooth in launch and usage and had no significant bugs which made our clients experience exceptional from day 1.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We think they fulfilled all their promises. Since we are in healthcare radiology services it would have been great if they had team members with previous experience in same field to be able to add more field specific features.
