Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a Project Manager for CoreTech Solutions, LLC. CoreTech is a technology company that provides various administrative services via our apps. Our current target market are employees who work away from the office and out in the field.

For what projects/services did your company hire ENO8?

CoreTech hired ENO8 to help develop and maintain our current apps. Some of the initial projects were: Housing Environment Options IOS Updates Excel/Access Data Upload Support Development Web Forms Test/Development/Production Environments Issue Resolution Etc.

What were your goals for this project?

Our end goal is to package and sell our apps. We are currently working on multiple projects with ENO8 and are very happy with our progress.

Describe the project in detail.

We have multiple projects going on at any given time. We are currently updating and developing our Field and Supervisor apps. We communicate via Slack with our ENO8 team and our progress is tracked via Confluence. If there are any major developments, a change request is sent and approved before work is started. The process is very efficient.

What was the team composition?

ENO8's staff is knowledgeable and professional. I speak weekly, and sometimes daily, with their Project Manager on any issues or developments. They also have a highly-skilled development team: Scrum Master Developer QA CSM Depending on the situation, I may speak with some or all of them at different phases of a project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

CoreTech's Field and Supervisor apps are currently being used in various oild field companies and regions across the United States. We continue to upgrade and develop our apps and have recently added web forms to make entering data on the administrative side more efficient.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow is amazing. The Project Manager is very knowledgeable and their entire team makes me feel like a valued customer. The turn-around time is minimal and the communication is clear. ENO8's team is efficient (which saves us money).

What did you find most impressive about this company?

ENO8 takes the time to understand what we want in our product and they give us options and solutions to achieve the end result. They are innovative and forward-thinking with their business design and their customer service gives us peace of mind that our product is in good hands. We always feel valued as a customer and have built lasting relationships that exceed "business as usual." I would highly recommend ENO8 to anyone who is ready to take their business to the next level.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We are 100% satisfied with the work ENO8 has done for us. I can't say enough about the quality and professionalism of their team. I enjoy working with them and have learned so much from their knowledgeable.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and founder of ezLocator. We provide premium and value priced products for the golf industry. Specifically, we target superintendents to help them find and manage the optimum hole location on a green.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with ENO8?

I wanted a new software development partner that could provide a value-added technical solution for our existing customer base.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They took over development from a previous software company. These responsibilities included daily operations, analytics and bug fixes.

We’ve done a few small projects; we also completed a major mobile upgrade in response to customer demand. The upgrade, completed in December 2017, was an extension of our existing web application for iOS and Android.

We divide year-long development processes into quarterly stages. In the first quarter, we get customer feedback to identify opportunities for added features or new products. We then discuss those possibilities with their development team in the second quarter. ENO8 uses the third and fourth quarters for development, leading up to a January release. Currently, there are a couple projects in the pipeline. They’ve also made several recommendations for cleaning up the web application and staying current as a tech company.

What is the team composition?

I have one main point of contact but also work with other team members. The mobile upgrade team included a senior architect that was responsible for allocating resources.

How did you come to work with ENO8?

One of their principals has been a friend for five or six years. He knew that I was working with another development firm and that I had no compelling reason to change agencies. However, circumstances arose where ENO8 was the right company at the right time to take over development.

As a business owner, I look for partners with considerable expertise that can serve as a trusted advisor. I prefer this dynamic because it allows me stay at a high level while they create technical solutions.

What is the status of this engagement?

Work started in late 2016 and is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

As a relatively new customer, it’s hard to judge from a process standpoint. The experience has been a learning curve for both sides; we’ve had good and bad surprises. I use effective communication to measure success. We have a roadmap in place to avoid those miscommunications that could derail a project. I expect success in 2018 if we stay mindful of that plan while moving forward.

Their recommendations were also significant. I want to avoid dependence on legacy coding as we launch new software app iterations through 2019. Cloud and mobile technology are always changing and we need to keep up.

How did ENO8 perform from a project management standpoint?

The project manager takes time to understand our business needs; we’re in constant communication via Slack. Our collaboration has two main focuses: to stay under budget and on schedule. We also have weekly calls with the whole team to review development progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The development team has a strong process in place that expedites solutions to market. ENO8 relies on its managers to onboard new developers quickly, which saves time.

Furthermore, they operate a competitive pricing model by blending in-house and offshore resources. The method is cost-effective and good for our budget.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Since they’re in a fast growth environment, ENO8 needs to stay on top of their technical and project management resources. The balance between their growth patterns and available resources isn’t yet an issue, but it’s indicative of how an organization evolves.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Effective communication at the outset makes for a smooth project. ENO8 does a fantastic job the technical and business teams’ collaboration benefits from clear communication.

We provide wellness solutions to employers. I am the chief technology officer.

What challenge were you trying to address with ENO8?

We wanted to create a state-of-the-art mobile application to complement our website. Our main product focuses on weight loss, with our online learning management tool as a key element. We wanted that same functionality within an app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They built native apps for both iOS and Android, and worked with our in-house design team to create the layout and everything else. They designed pieces of it independently. The app itself now has some features the web version doesn’t have, including a food diary that allows users to take pictures of their meals and rate how well they do at the end of each meal, based on concepts we teach them during the program. Users can watch videos, track their steps, and access graphs and other tools to assess their progress.

What is the team composition?

We have a project manager and an architect that we work with directly. They relay work to their developers.

How did you come to work with ENO8?

Another firm designed and built the initial application. Jeff Francis [Co-Founder & President, ENO8] was at that firm, and when he started the mobile team at ENO8, we went with him.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with ENO8 around their inception, and our collaboration is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our ratings on the app stores have dramatically increased. We also have analytics tools built into the apps that let us track crashes. On both platforms, we’re currently about 99.8% crash-free. It’s pretty solid, and I’m very comfortable with what they’ve done.

How did ENO8 perform from a project management standpoint?

They were just starting to build out the team when we started, so it was a little slow-going at first. Once we got through the initial transition things have gone fairly quickly, and within the past year, we’ve hit a good routine. We have weekly meetings and can see what’s in each sprint. We have a clear QA process and certain testing protocols on our side. Within the past year, we’ve really nailed down the process and are in a good place.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of the team and the work that they do are impressive, especially Jeff. They do more than just crank out features, they also provide strategies to improve the process. They give us feedback to help us take everything to the next level.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There are times when I don’t get a clear idea of what a particular feature will cost until we’ve started working on it. We’d like more upfront communication about cost before we start with new features and additions.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make decisions about the process early on. It took us a while to figure out how to do releases and having a clearer plan for updates and feature changes will make the process go more smoothly. We now have specific launch days, which helps us stay on track.
